Fauna:
Flashback:
"Mommy, she stole my makeup again!" I heard Mariana scream for our mother, and I grunted at her with my hands on my waist.
"Oh my Goddess, you twelve-year-olds have made me go nuts," my mother arrived, angry at both of us.
Before my mother could come to my room, Mariana rushed in to point at me.
"You don't have to point at her, she knows who I am," I said, pouting back at her.
"And it is not your makeup, Mommy said we both will use it together, but you have hoarded it," I screamed, grunting angrily.
As we both began to yell and scream at each other, suddenly my mother appeared, and we both turned to her to complain when we noticed her face.
She had a black eye and a split lip.
"What is it? Why are you two arguing now?" her voice broke as she questioned, but she kept the anger in her tone.
"Did Daddy hit you again?" Mariana was the one who said it first.
And then I reached her.
"No, I'm fine." She instantly turned her face away.
