Chapter 152 - Arming the resistance

Adam accessed the shop menu, revealing a list of items and weapons categorized by type: swords, polearms, and ranged weapons. "Adam, we have about 30 people volunteered to help us fight. It may be more depending on how many will come later. We may need around 50 weapons and armor. At the same time, you may need to find some weapons for us as well, fitting our abilities," Lyra informed him.

"Dad, I can see your system as well from your eyes," Azrael interjected.

"Don't mind me, I can see some interesting weapons on your system," Vlad added.

"Wait, why am I the only one not able to see?" Johan queried.

"Please focus on basic weapons for the people with us, primarily fire and light-elemental weapons," Lyra stated. "The zombies and variants are more likely to be weak against fire and light. While the demon Serbas should be weak against light since it has divinity inside."

Adam scrolled through the options when something caught Azrael's eye. "Dad, wait, can you click on the scythe?" Azrael asked, interested in the weapon. Adam opened the sub-menu, revealing a variety of scythes with different effects.

"Bloodmoon Death Scythe. That's the one, please open the full effect," Azrael requested.

Adam opened the details, revealing that the Bloodmoon Death Scythe absorbs the blood of things it kills. The user holding it gains regeneration from the absorbed blood, and the scythe gets a 1% damage increase for every kill. Every 100th kill, the scythe grants the user a new ability from the 100 creatures it has killed.

"This is my weapon! I want this, Dad," Azrael pleaded. Adam looked at the weapon; it was a Legendary weapon costing 5 million system coins. "What? 5 million system coins?" Adam gasped, shocked by the cost.

"Please, Dad, I promise to take good care of it," Azrael pleaded. Adam gave in and bought the Bloodmoon Death Scythe for Azrael. Adam took out the weapon and passed it to Azrael, who almost tipped over holding the scythe, its size clearly too much for him.

"Remember when I told you about using the universal tool to permanently upgrade something?" Lyra prompted. "Why don't you try doing so with the scythe?"

"How exactly do I do it?" Adam asked.

"Use the universal tool and merge it with the weapon. The tool will download it, and you will have a blueprint of it before you do modifications. Then alter and modify it. However, a small piece of the universal tool will be used up, depending on how much modification is needed," Lyra explained.

"I'm thinking of making it lightweight and able to transform similar to the universal tool, and can be used only by Azrael," Adam told Lyra about his specific modifications.

"Since you can use mana manipulation, it's easy to do; it just needs Azrael's blood as a mana signature," Lyra explained.

Adam donned his mana suit and merged the universal tool with the Bloodmoon Death Scythe, then proceeded to take a drop of Azrael's blood. As the universal tool followed Adam's instructions via mana manipulation, the Bloodmoon Death Scythe dissolved into a liquid state, turning into a silver core. Adam passed the silver core to Azrael, and the core melted on Azrael's hands, merging with him.

"Azrael, can you conjure it?" Adam asked.

Azrael put his hands out, and his blood and the silver core, now in liquid state, materialized into the weapon as Azrael grasped it. "Wow, it's light! Let me test it out!" Azrael instantly charged towards Vlad and sliced him in two. Vlad remained unfazed, merging back with no sign of pain or struggle.

"What are you planning to do with my blood?" Vlad instantly knew what was on Azrael's mind.

Azrael smiled. "Just what I needed to evolve further." The scythe glowed red as Vlad's blood slowly flowed into Azrael's hands and entered his body. Azrael's body began to burn, and blood appeared all over him, even bleeding from his eyes, as Vlad's blood struggled to merge with Azrael.

"Adam, the mana suit! Put it on Azrael now! His core and Vlad's blood are trying to merge, but he's having trouble due to his gold mana core," Lyra stated. Adam quickly put the mana suit on Azrael as his body weakened. Adam grabbed Azrael and laid him down.

"This boy is really troublesome!" Vlad remarked, looking at Azrael.

Lyra's scan showed that Azrael was forcing Vlad's blood to merge with his already fully developed gold mana core. The core was rejecting it, but Azrael was forcing an evolution to merge with Vlad's powerful blood. Azrael was using Lyra's ability and Adam's to force the evolution of his mana core to merge Vlad's powerful blood. He needed a lot of mana to force the evolution.

"Don't worry, Adam, Azrael will be fine," Lyra informed him.

Adam took a seat beside Azrael and continued looking through other weapons. Adam saw C-grade weapons with light and fire elements, costing 10,000 each. He bought a mixture of 50 fire and light weapons and laid them on the ground. 500,000 system coins were deducted.

He then bought C-grade armor for their defense against variants: body armor, hand guards, leg guards, and headgear. Each set cost approximately 15,000 to 20,000 for a fully equipped person, totaling 900,000 coins. Adam checked his remaining system coins: 13.6 million left.

He continued Browse as Vlad spotted an A-grade weapon. "Can you open the detail of that weapon?" Vlad asked.

Adam looked at it, confused, as it was just a dagger. The Shadow Dagger was able to teleport to its target via the shadow realm. Every 10th kill, the dagger multiplied by two.

Once there was no kill within 30 seconds, the daggers would merge back into a single weapon. The dagger would return to the owner after the target was killed.

"Are you sure about this weapon? If you throw it and it doesn't kill the target, it won't return to you," Adam asked.

"Don't worry, it's perfect with my own ability," Vlad said, grinning as he envisioned the perfect way to use it. Adam bought the dagger, costing 600,000 system coins.
