"Adam, may I speak with you for a moment?" Lyra asked. Adam nodded as Lyra pulled Adam by his hand and flew up into the sky. Under the moonlight, Lyra created a platform with her spears, surrounded by clouds.
Lyra's Decision
"I was given a choice to govern this world as a celestial being," Lyra stated.
"Hmm, what's your reply?" Adam asked.
"The reason they asked me to be one is due to the reason behind me having a body," Lyra continued. "I was made with technological and celestial soul components to be the perfect celestial to arrange souls between worlds. The body given was made before I was even assigned to you as an AI. The reason why I was given a chance to enjoy human emotions and stay on the Earth plane is due to my request."
"So what is that request?" Adam asked gently.
"I requested to stay with you," Lyra stated.
"However, the celestial beings stated that since you are married, they would rather have me back to govern this world. I've rejected their offer, and I want to stay with you. It means, I've just relinquished myself as a celestial being."
Adam realized that Lyra was meant to be a celestial being, and she had just rejected her purpose of existence to stay with him. Her decision to relinquish her celestial status meant she gained free will but lost part of her existence.
"You did it for me? Have you become fully human?" Adam asked.
"I'm not sure of the decision from above since I've relinquished my position as a celestial being. However, I'm willing to accept any repercussion. I have felt human emotions, and I want to stay with you, regardless of what's going to happen in the future," Lyra stated.
Adam pulled her towards him, hugging her tightly. "I'll be with you no matter what happens. Thank you for staying by my side. I love you," Adam said.
"Thank you, Adam. I've become a being without purpose. I'm afraid of the uncertainty of my existence from now on," Lyra confessed.
"That's what being human is like. You have truly become one," Adam said as he smiled, touching her cheeks, recognizing the sacrifice she made for him.
Rebuilding a New Kingdom
Lyra and Adam descended. The banquet had begun below. Adam and Lyra surveyed the location, formulating the majestic layout of the new human kingdom. Adam created a comprehensive layout with Lyra's help.
Adam teleported everyone into his dimension while they were eating. Instantly, using magic, Adam and Lyra rebuilt the entire kingdom, adding specialized features for Brog's family on their new land.
After everything was done, both Lyra and Adam entered the dimension to enjoy their time eating and chatting with the people. At the end of the banquet, Adam opened a portal for them to return to the new kingdom. Everyone was amazed at the majestic layout. There were no high walls, allowing a clear view of the world. The Dungeon was centrally located but blocked off with walls and barriers to protect citizens from any Dungeon Break.
The humans were strategically placed in different locations, given housing and small lands to be self-sustaining and trade among themselves. The road towards the Dungeon was lined with empty stalls for adventurers of any species. Brog's tavern and new restaurant were located at the city center near the Dungeon, set to profit from adventurer traffic.
Brog came to thank Adam. "I couldn't ask for anything more. The mansion, land, even our tavern and new restaurant is too much to ask for. It is filled with so many luxury features and amenities inside our mansion that even my wife became speechless. Thank you for everything you did for us."
Adam smiled and shook Brog's hand.
Adam made a final announcement, stating his departure, and expressed his hope that the civilization would thrive, putting his trust in the new governing body. As Adam held the artifact and waved his final goodbyes, the cheers went loud, echoing through the distances.
Home
Nirik transformed into his Kirin form and opened the portal. Lyra, Adam, Azrael, and Dharka walked through.
Adam arrived back in front of his family, where he had said goodbye moments before. "I'm back home," Adam said, seeing Helena and the others.
"You didn't even leave!" Helena exclaimed, as the time difference of this world was virtually unchanged from when he had left for the other world.
Adam showed them the artifact. They immediately noticed the two new figures.
"Let me introduce to everyone, this is Dharka and Azrael. A Lich King that joined me during the other world. This boy is now part of our family," Adam announced.
"Wow, you did leave. You look rougher than before. How long were you in the other world?" Albert asked, confused by the lack of time difference.
Adam smiled. "It was longer than I expected it to be." Adam looked at Lyra, understanding the weight of their secret.
"Azrael looks about our age. So is he our younger brother?" Alyssa asked.
"Well, he is actually older than he looks. I hope both of you be kind to your new brother, especially you, Alynna," Adam said.
"I'm a good girl. I'll see if he is good enough to be our brother," Alynna said, sticking her tongue out before storming off.
"You should be nicer to her. Besides, they were awaiting for your return since your old world remembers?" Lyra said, having fully embraced her chosen role, and chased Alynna into the other room.
