It has been over a month since Yuta and Luna arrived in Livastin. They had endured so much to reach this place.
After fighting Rin for a spot in the tavern and learning about his past from Kuro, Yuta felt slightly satisfied with the outcome.
Yuta could have continued living in peace like this, but one thing still clawed at his heart, not allowing him to rest: "Kill Rena."
It was the only thought consuming him day and night—setting him apart from everyone else.
Even Rin had changed during that time. Apart from fighting Yuta on a daily basis, he occasionally went out on his own to do things but it wasn't like Yuta cared.
Kuro and Luna met more often, talking about what they did but their relationship was somewhat eccentric likely because of Kuro's unpredictable behavior.
"Hey… you're not going to remember me?"
"Remember …?"
*HUFF… HUFF…*
Yuta woke up, his bed drenched in sweat as he looked at Luna who was sleeping on the bed directly opposite him
"Yuta, what's wrong?" Luna asked, slowly opening her eyes.
"Oh nothing"
"Don't lie to me, not now at least" Luna said sitting upright on the bed facing Yuta
"..."
"It is the same dream right"
Yuta nodded his head slowly
'Ever since Yuta fought the Guardian, he had forgotten everything that happened—even his inevitable death.'
'I want to tell him but I can't'
'I promised Master, after all, that I wouldn't tell him… but the dreams haven't stopped—especially since he arrived in Livastin.'
'They even got worse once he arrived, maybe because it has to do with Rin being here as an apostle'
*DING DING*
While Yuta and Luna were in deep thought, the sound of a bell echoed across Livastin.
"I hate that bell" Luna said, sighing.
"I am with you on that"
Luna and Yuta got dressed and went downstairs to meet Rin and Kuro, who were eating breakfast.
"Good morning" Rin said while Kuro was munching on his food like a maniac.
"Good morning" Luna and Yuta replied in unison
"Today is going to be hectic"
"Why do you say so?" Yuta asked clearly puzzled
"Just take a look outside."
Yuta adjusted the curtain to get a view, kids around Yuta and Rin's ages, some younger and some older were all rushing towards the city hall
"What is going on?" Yuta asked still looking outside
"The new term is about to begin, so people are preparing. some are going to the city hall to get supplies; some are applying to new schools and so much more"
"Oh, is that why they blew that bell this morning?"
"Yeah, more or less"
"Honestly, if I ever wake up for something as pointless as school again, I might just tear down all of Livastin."
Rin shot a glance at Kuro, who was toying with Luna before turning back to Yuta with a smile
"Um, I wish you luck I guess"
Yuta's mouth twitched upon hearing Rin's words but decided not to engage Rin in any banter
The town of Livastin was bustling.
Kids chatted excitedly with their friends, talking about the upcoming school term.
Adults sold and bought goods as the city pulsed like a beating heart.
In the midst of all that, two were walking calmly towards the city hall. Despite being young, the aura around both individuals spoke little about them
"Oh my god, he is so hot" two girls were saying in the corner
"Hi, Rin!" another spoke softly
"….." Rin kept quiet for a second before waving smiling much to the girl's surprise
"You know, it won't kill to wave back at them"
"I hate attention but you seem to love it so much" Yuta said walking ahead
"Oh, you broken child. Don't worry, papa Rin will heal your heart"
"...."
"Seems like you have a death wish." Yuta replied with a cold gaze
"My bad, my bad"
Reaching the city hall, Yuta and Rin looked around. The city hall stood out immediately. Expensive furniture had been arranged so visitors could relax.
"Who are those guys?" Yuta asked curiously
"Those are attendants"
"They handle information, assign missions to adventurers, and take care of most affairs involving the people of Livastin."
"You can just call them the king's men"
"Oh, how neat"
Rin and Yuta walked up to one of the attendants
"Hello, my name is Dolares. I will be your attendant today."
"Could we have the application forms and any information you have about Luminary Academy?"
"A fine choice"
Dolares walked up to the signing post and removed a paper having information about Luminary Academy and from one of her drawers removed two application forms
"Here"
"Thank you"

"Yuta, see, isn't Luminary Academy just the best"
"Yeah" Yuta said rolling his eyes
"You know you made everyone force me into applying. My life was perfectly fine until the application stuff"
"I don't know what you are talking about"
Yuta punched Rin on the shoulder as both walked out of the hall bantering as usual
