Chapter 304: Tier-2—Game Update
A major shock shook Navy Headquarters.
"Isn't resurrection possible in the Reincarnation Game? How could anyone violate the Game Merchant's rules and directly kill Akainu?"
Fleet Admiral Sengoku's breathing was heavy, his eyebrows practically twisted into a knot.
Even after coming into contact with players from other worlds, and even with Orochimaru's ambush, the worst-case scenario they had envisioned was losing a massive amount of Reward Points.
But they never imagined—
That a Navy Admiral would die in-game.
Vice Admiral Tsuru sighed. "That player named Orochimaru—according to the ninja world—is considered their strongest."
No matter how you looked at it,
Because the ninja world had engaged with the Reincarnation Game earlier, their overall power was slightly ahead of the pirate world.
And Orochimaru was the strongest among them.
Akainu being killed while trying to stop him wasn't entirely surprising.
Sengoku's face darkened. "I'm asking about Akainu's death. Can Orochimaru break the rules?"
"Let's wait until Akainu revives and ask him directly."
Tsuru shook her head.
Fortunately, during their previous hunt of the [Soul Reaper Envoy], Navy Headquarters had accumulated a few resurrection coins.
They allowed a player to be revived without side effects.
"That's all we can do for now."
Sengoku grimaced.
He pulled one resurrection coin from the logistics warehouse and used it to bring Akainu back.
A flash of white light.
Sakazuki's body, which had fallen in battle, slowly reassembled within the light.
He blinked in confusion.
He had been about to speak, but the moment he understood the situation, he fell silent.
"I was revived?"
As a Navy Admiral, Sakazuki naturally knew about the warehouse's resurrection coins.
He remembered being slain by Orochimaru's undead army. That meant this was an official revival.
Sengoku took a deep breath. "What happened?"
"It was a rule-type item—a Death Duel Emblem."
Akainu recounted Orochimaru's combat prowess and his eerie abilities in detail.
"The Fire Empire is a powerful state rejected by all factions in the ninja world."
"Orochimaru, as its ruler, has reached the cap for Tier-1 players and has hunted multiple lord-level monsters. He's loaded with rule-type items."
Nearby, members of Naval Intelligence furiously took notes.
Sengoku sighed. "It seems there's no such thing as absolute safety in the Reincarnation Game anymore."
"It was never truly safe."
Vice Admiral Tsuru wasn't surprised. She said calmly,
"The tutorial maps didn't allow death—it was just a buffer period. Now that we've entered the open maps, growing stronger without loss is impossible."
Her concern now was—
As competition within the game intensified, death would become inevitable.
Resurrection coins would become the most sought-after rule-type item—used to bring top-tier players back to life after battle.
And rule-type items—
Only dropped from lord-level monsters.
Any faction that didn't want to be left behind had to seize the opportunity to hunt as many lords as possible.
"There will be more and more players from other worlds."
"Navy Headquarters must plant its flag in this era and become one of the strongest forces across all realms."
"We represent the face of justice."
"In the past, our enemies were pirates and the Revolutionary Army. Now, we face players from other worlds."
"We must protect the Navy's justice!"
Over the following days—
Most factions tactfully chose to stay out of sight.
Only a few scattered battles erupted in some regions.
Iwagakure and Kumogakure's alliance clashed with Whitebeard and Shanks's dual-emperor faction.
The outcome was unclear.
Meanwhile, players in the Dark Elf Kingdom split into two camps. They didn't interfere with each other's territories or hunting grounds.
At the Eternal Snow Mountains—
Kirigakure and the Revolutionary Army surprisingly didn't clash. Instead, they seemed to form a pact to dismantle the Snow Ninja faction.
Having lost their base, Snow Ninja players were forced to either join Mist or become wandering rogues.
Those without backing who refused to submit—
If they dared enter dangerous zones alone to farm monsters for Contribution or Reward Points,
they were hunted by Mist players.
The power structure kept shifting.
Just as the tension built beneath the surface—
A system notification rang in every player's ear.
[Congratulations to players "Official Joker" and "I Will Become the Pirate King" for reaching Tier-2!]
[Reincarnation Game version has been updated.]
Not only the Straw Hat crew—
Many players who had secretly prepared used the chaos to break into Tier-2.
"Excellent. One step closer to taking back Alabasta."
In the base of the Desert Circus,
Crocodile puffed on a cigar as he looked at the remaining life solution in the Tier-2 Metamorphosis Chamber.
There was still enough for one more transformation.
Without hesitation, he stepped into the machine.
"That damn Straw Hat… So sneaky. He did the same thing I was planning!"
Buggy couldn't believe another player had reached Tier-2 just seconds apart from him.
It felt like it was coordinated!
When he saw the username "Straw Hat Luffy," he nearly lost it.
Buggy cursed,
"I knew it! That idiot-looking brat is actually a manipulative bastard. I'd love to see the Navy lock him up in Impel Down!"
They already had a grudge in-game.
And on top of that, Luffy inherited Shanks's hat—how could he not be a bad guy?
"Captain, maybe we should check out the patch notes first…"
First mate Mohji was helpless. He couldn't understand why his captain hated Luffy so much.
Meanwhile—
All players logged into the game, even those mid-hunt rushed back to town—
To read the Reincarnation Game's patch notes.
