Chapter 347: The Counterattack of the Survivors from Yu Shinobi Village
At the border of the Land of Hot Water,
within a hidden valley, lay a secret village—home to survivors of the Yu Shinobi Village who had escaped annihilation at the hands of the Hokage.
At the center of this village stood a crudely built temple.
But its altar did not venerate Buddha.
Instead, it worshipped a black figure cloaked in a massive veil, its face twisted and demonic, resembling a death god summoned by the Reaper Death Seal—but darker.
"O mighty Evil God, please protect the Yu Shinobi!"
Dozens of ragged shinobi knelt before the altar.
On the offering table, they laid limbs and fragments of corrupted monsters they had hunted in the game—along with two rare Corruption Crystals.
The black idol they worshipped stirred,
its claw-like hand reaching out as if alive, grasping the corrupted materials and devouring them whole.
As it fed,
the mud-crafted body of the Evil God began to shift. It grew denser, more radiant, and gradually took on the sheen of real flesh.
"We beseech you, Evil God—save the Yu Shinobi Village!"
These kneeling figures were the remnants of Yu Shinobi—survivors of the massacre carried out by Hiruzen Sarutobi.
They had lived in fear ever since, constantly hiding, terrified of discovery.
As a weak shinobi village, they had never received proper training. Most were at chūnin level,
but in terms of reconnaissance and counterintelligence,
they couldn't compare to the great ninja villages like Konoha.
Soon after escaping, most of them were hunted down and killed by ninjas from the Shadow Organization.
Cornered,
these peace-loving shinobi had no choice but to risk everything and go to the capital of the Land of Hot Water, begging the daimyō for protection.
But the daimyō discarded them like broken tools.
With the mightier Konoha now in control, the Yu shinobi were seen as a burden—he immediately passed their location to Hiruzen Sarutobi.
After fleeing from place to place,
the desperate survivors of Yu finally turned to the only hope they had left: the Cult of the Evil God, a religion that had existed since the Warring States period.
They sold everything,
converting their assets into corrupted materials to offer to the deity—begging for protection and vengeance against Konoha.
And to their shock… it worked.
The Evil God responded to their offerings.
The more corruption it consumed, the more it answered their prayers.
"Comrades, the day we take revenge on Konoha is coming."
Leading them was the former advisor of Yu Shinobi Village.
His position was comparable to Danzo's in Konoha.
A twisted grin spread across his face as he stood atop a sigil drawn in blood. His skin had turned two-toned—black and white.
Anyone from the Akatsuki would immediately find the sight familiar.
This was the transformation that occurred when Hidan activated the curse of the Evil God.
But unlike Hidan,
this advisor's ritual was far more potent. His sacrifices to the deity were more extravagant.
"Everyone, gather more corrupted monsters—buy what you can.
The Evil God is almost fully awakened. Soon, it will crush Konoha—the destroyers of peace!"
"And then, the Evil God will rule all of the Shinobi World!"
Watching all of this from afar was Fang Yi.
He made no move.
Beside him, A'Fu grew anxious. "Master, aren't we going to help? If the Evil God awakens, it could destroy the Shinobi World!"
Fang Yi was well aware of what the so-called Evil God was—
a massive aggregation of chakra.
But not like the Tailed Beasts created by the Sage of Six Paths.
Rather,
this was a manifestation born from the negative emotions of all chakra beings in the Shinobi World.
As cultists worshipped and fed it hatred and belief,
the Evil God would reciprocate by releasing special chakra in return—
this was the source of Hidan's jutsu.
Until now, belief in the Evil God had been minimal.
Only a small portion of the Land of Hot Water's populace ever followed it, and the Evil God had never truly manifested.
But now,
fueled by corrupted offerings from desperate Yu survivors,
it was like a dry sponge soaking up tainted power.
Its dormant body had fully awakened—its physical form nearly complete.
It had become truly corrupted.
From here on,
it would spread pollution and death like a snowball rolling downhill—growing stronger until it swallowed the entire Shinobi World.
"Do I really have to intervene every time some nightmare like this appears?"
Fang Yi frowned.
But he still had no intention of acting—
even if this could lead to the destruction of the Shinobi World.
"If I step in every time, the players will lose all respect for the game's rules."
"At the core, this crisis was caused by Konoha."
"And the Evil God's first target… is Konoha.
If they dared seize land they couldn't hold, they'd better be ready to face the consequences."
After all,
the Evil God was born from the Yu survivors' desperate prayers.
Naturally, its first enemy would be the Hidden Leaf.
A'Fu panicked. "Master, by my calculations, that thing is a Level 40 Dark Gold Lord. Konoha won't be able to stop it!"
The Evil God, a collective manifestation of the world's negative chakra,
shouldn't have grown beyond Tier One.
But thanks to the cult's reckless offerings of corrupted materials,
even dormant pollution essence had become reactivated—
functioning like a beacon that could attract higher-tier corruption forces.
The Corruption Crystal the Evil God consumed had dropped from a [Bomb Goblin], a monster affiliated with the faction known as the Flesh Abyss.
The Evil God reaching Dark Gold Lord level
was likely due to the Flesh Abyss detecting the Evil God's transformation—
and actively feeding it polluted energy to nurture its awakening.
If not defeated soon,
this connection would allow the Flesh Abyss to trace the pollution back to the Shinobi World.
Which was why A'Fu said the world could be destroyed—not by the Evil God,
but by what would come after.
He shuddered. "The Flesh Abyss is only mid-tier in the Corrupted Continent."
"It houses large numbers of Tier Two corrupted monsters—goblins, yakshas, and other twisted creatures of flesh.
Its leader, rated by game standards, is a Level 49 Goblin King."
"With the players' current strength, even united, they wouldn't stand a chance in all-out war."
While player growth was rapid,
the Reincarnation Game hadn't been running long.
Even Orochimaru, the strongest so far, was only Level 40—not enough to face the Flesh Abyss head-on.
"Relax," Fang Yi finally said.
Though irritated, he remained calm.
"The major territories have already been carved up by the Four Great Shinobi Villages and the Noble Alliance."
"The first time, Konoha only got away with blitzing Yu Shinobi Village because the Land of Fire was under siege.
The others didn't notice."
"But now, if they abandon the Land of Hot Water or attack another faction the same way,
every other power will retaliate."
"They'll realize soon enough—this land is one they must hold.
They'll fight to the bitter end."
Even if the Evil God was Level 40,
even if the Goblin King himself descended,
Hiruzen Sarutobi would have no choice but to risk everything and fight back.
Otherwise, the people's trust would collapse.
A'Fu sighed. "But… they're no match for the Evil God."
Right now, Konoha's strongest player was Tsunade.
Her core ability was [Paladin – Lv.35], marked with a dozen skills:
[Gem of Revelation], [Hammer of Repentance], [Holy Wind of Healing], and more.
She had three pieces of the [Magic Ocean] armor set.
Total combat power: 2400.
