Chapter 292: The Slaughter City's Destruction
Tang Chen couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of blood, pain twisting his face. Yet he remained on high alert, wary of the Blood-Red Nine-Headed Bat King inside him seizing control once more.
Such a violent outburst, combined with Tang Chen's body being severely poisoned, had already pushed him to his limit. He knew he was on the brink of collapse. Before dying, he still wished to visit Sea God Island one more time—to speak with Bo Saixi.
"Mm."
Tang Chen's gaze shifted. The spot where he'd just crushed the Rakshasa God inheritor under a hammer blow had scattered dozens of uneven chunks of flesh. Now those flesh bits behaved as if alive, converging into a humanoid form and rapidly heading toward the Slaughter City exit, evidently trying to put distance between them.
Flickers of purple spirit markings danced over that wriggling mass, gradually merging back into the shape of the person Tang Chen had just smashed—Bibi Dong.
Moreover, Bibi Dong's Rakshasa Domain kept humming with power, absorbing the city's death aura.
Tang Chen frowned deeply. Before smashing Bibi Dong with his final three hits, he saw her tenth-thousand-year sixth spirit ring flicker once. As the wielder of the Grand Sumeru Hammer, and a Shura God successor, he hadn't feared that unknown sixth-ring skill. Yet it let her endure his hammer without dying.
"Bo Saixi... Looks like I'll lose my last chance to see you, too."
Tang Chen gave a bitter laugh. A fierce killing intent once more flared around him. Clutched in his hand, the towering blood-red Clear Sky Hammer glowed. Nine spirit rings circled at his feet. The first four rings all turned golden.
The lovestruck instincts of the Tang family were always intense, but as inherently evil scions, their sense of personal = clan > beloved had priority. Just like Tang Hao, who in the original story let Ah Yin sacrifice herself, then avoided finishing off Qian Xunji to keep from implicating the clan. In the hearts of these Tang clansmen, themselves = clan > beloved.
Having been ruined by the Rakshasa God, forced to commit immeasurable sins, how could Tang Chen possibly spare any Rakshasa God successor? What's more, that successor had come to seize the Shura Demon Sword. No way would he let her go. Even if Bibi Dong's sixth spirit ring skill was strong at saving her life, he still possessed rank 99 Extreme Douluo might. If repeated hammer strikes couldn't kill her, then he'd resort to his quasi-divine self-creation technique, the Sumeru Hammer Bomb.
"Boom! Boom!"
His first and second spirit rings exploded, funneling all their energy into the Clear Sky Hammer. Bathed in blood, the hammer glowed gold, its already overbearing aura magnified several times. Within a hundred meters of the hammer, space itself turned to vacuum.
Tang Chen's battered, highly poisoned body took heavy backlash from ring explosion; blood sprayed from his mouth.
Meanwhile, Bibi Dong's body had regenerated. At rank 98 peak Douluo, her healing rate was terrifyingly fast. Yet seeing Tang Chen explode ring after ring just to kill her still made her heart thump wildly.
"Tang Chen, you lunatic!!"
She was utterly bewildered. What had she done to warrant Tang Chen's life-or-death hatred? They'd never even met before in either timeline. She hadn't done anything to the Clear Sky Clan. How would Tang Chen even know her plans? Even if Shura God and Rakshasa God were natural enemies, they didn't have to fight to such extremes at first sight.
"Hahaha!"
Tang Chen's hearty laughter boomed. "Rakshasa... oh, you 'Rakshasa!' You destroyed my life. Let me see how your god will rescue your inheritor from my divine-level strike!"
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
He detonated three more spirit rings. Flesh sprayed from his body as that blood-red Clear Sky Hammer turned completely golden, shining like a blinding sun that could crush all in its path.
Is this all I can do?
A flash of unwillingness and resentment crossed Tang Chen's eyes. The Blood-Red Nine-Headed Bat King's corrosion ran far too deep; even just exploding five spirit rings pushed him to the brink. If he tried to go further, he might die before actually launching the attack. No matter how mighty an unlaunched strike might be, it was pointless.
Sensing that golden sun, Bibi Dong knew that if she tried tanking it outright with her Undying Body, she might truly be obliterated. Instantly, her aura shifted. Eight black, one red—nine rings—manifested beneath her feet. The Rakshasa True Form shifted into the Devour Soul Spider Emperor True Form. The Devour Soul Spider Emperor Spirit's fourth, sixth, and ninth skills all lit up.
Those three skills were Bloodsucking Spider Stingers, Spider Emperor Clone, and Abyssal Strike of Spatial Rend.
"Die!"
Muscles bulging, Tang Chen drove the golden sun down toward Bibi Dong. Even as his arms strained, blood spurted wildly.
Spider Emperor True Form.
First spirit skill, Crescent.
Third skill, Thorn Armor.
The Devour Soul Clone charged the golden sun, unleashing the formidable single-target abilities from the first seven rings plus that only defensive skill. But that murky green orb was crushed in under a second by the blazing gold. Bibi Dong's Bloodsucking Spider Stingers never had a chance to make contact before the sun's overwhelming aura flung them away.
"Abyssal Strike of Spatial Rend!"
Pooling all the death aura gleaned from her Rakshasa Domain into both arms, Bibi Dong fused two huge jade-green pincers in an X shape, sending two colossal green blades slashing at the golden sun.
Their collision obliterated the Slaughter City entirely. Even the blood-hued realm overlaying it splintered under such near-divine power. Gone from the Douluo Continent for millennia, the Slaughter City was forcibly returned—yet the area of that city was now reduced to heaps of ruin.
"Eternal Creation!"
Bibi Dong's purple hair whipped in the gale. Her ninth spirit ring gleamed, and a giant fork-shaped ripple shot at the golden Clear Sky Hammer, now the size of a modest cabin after enduring numerous layers of wear.
"Boom—!"
Both flew back over a thousand meters. Tang Chen's ragged body was hurled into the blood river, which now had less than a tenth of its water remaining. Bibi Dong soared in another direction.
"That direction... the Slaughter City? So Bibi Dong was hammered yet again by Tang Chen?"
Qian Xunji stared toward the Slaughter City, sensing the two colliding forces. A smile tugged at his lips. A "Lou Dong," indeed, fought only at the pinnacle, an unkillable cockroach who could be suppressed solely by an Extreme Douluo.
"I wonder if Tang Chen died. If so, that disrupts my original third plan."
He had long known Qian Renchuan hadn't used the Snowy Swan Kiss. Let them handle it themselves. Let the innately evil scions of the Tang Clan face one another for the greatest comedic effect.
