Chapter 300: Nine Rings Detonated, The Tang Family Wiped Out
"Splurt—"
"Splurt—"
"Splurt—"
The Killing King was like a colossal meat grinder, plunging once more into a wild slaughter. Meanwhile, his blood-red Slaughter Domain absorbed fresh blood without cease, growing ever more sinister in color.
Simultaneously, over a hundred members of the Clear Sky Clan's Tang family converged, taking up positions in a neat square formation. Each brandished a Clear Sky Hammer; thunder crackled among them, forming a massive array. The array resembled a two-tiered cylindrical pillar, with disciples raising their hammers on the bottom level to continuously channel soul power. Up above, Tang Hao—borne aloft by the elders' soul power (as he was only a Soul Sage with no flight ability)—stood at the array's central eye.
Above Tang Hao's head shone the words of the "Clear Sky Nine Absolutes," simple yet suffused with a domineering aura.
Lightning flickered around the corners of Tang Hao's eyes, continuously absorbing the formation's powerful soul power. His own spirit power soared higher by the moment. Ever since dropping back to Soul Sage, he'd been unable to summon one of his yellow rings – but under the array's influence, that yellow ring reemerged.
"Splurt—!"
Meanwhile, the Killing King beheaded a few more clan disciples with a single sword swing. Rousing himself from the frenzy of slaughter, he looked up at the Clear Sky Formation and Tang Hao at its core, sensing some threat.
With a blast of wind from the wings on his back, he swept away the countless clan disciples who were throwing themselves at him in unyielding desperation, clearing a path. The Killing King soared into the sky, heading straight for the formation.
At that moment, a burly figure appeared behind the Killing King, wrapping him in a bear-like hug.
"Master, now's your chance!"
This was Titan, chief of the Strength Clan, calling Tang Hao "master."
"Members of the Strength Clan, give your lives resisting him – hold out until Master's preparations are complete!"
Under Titan's lead, large numbers of Strength Clan disciples sprang up, latching onto the Killing King's thighs, arms, and waist. They used brute force to keep him from escaping.
"You worthless ants!"
Powerful soul power fluctuated through the Killing King's body, blasting away all the Strength Clan disciples except Titan. Then the fleshy wings behind him curled back around Titan, pressing down relentlessly.
It felt to Titan like being crushed in a hydraulic press. Under the Killing King's crushing power—growing stronger by the second—Titan's robust frame was forced to its limit. His bones cracked audibly, "ka-cha, ka-cha."
At the brink of unconsciousness, Titan strained to lift his head, seeing that within the Clear Sky Formation, a second yellow ring had lit up beneath Tang Hao's feet. Tang Hao, having only four black and one red ring left visible – plus the two purple rings he had detonated before (preventing their reappearance for three days) – was now bridging the gap with the formation's power. Titan cracked a faint, contented grin.
"Master… serving under you is my life's greatest pride…"
With another "ka-cha," Titan was violently crushed by the Killing King's wing, flesh and bone splattering in all directions. He was dead beyond doubt.
Spreading his wings again, the Killing King's soul power flared, discarding Titan's remains. "Damn pest, costing me time!" he hissed coldly.
"Clear Sky Clan disciples, stand clear! As far away as possible!"
At that instant, Tang Hao's rough, overbearing bellow resounded.
Within the array, with enough soul power poured into him, Tang Hao finally reclaimed Title Douluo-level strength. Floating above the formation – no longer needing the elders to hold him aloft – he was originally just a Soul Sage, but once he returned to Title Douluo rank, flight came naturally.
Tang Hao's eyes brimmed with resolve. Using the formation to forcibly raise his soul power to Title Douluo put severe strain on his body. Only with four spirit bones remaining could he hope to endure such punishment. Furthermore, if he performed ring detonations atop that, his body would almost certainly collapse.
But to protect the Clear Sky Clan, so what if he died? His only remaining use was to pass on the Grand Sumeru Hammer's secrets – and Tang San already had them. Sacrificing himself for the clan, waking up the old ancestor… it was worth it.
"You damned old bat – you can't withstand this hammer! You're only occupying my grandfather's body; you can't exert even a tenth of his true might!"
"Worm!"
The Killing King's eyes radiated freezing malice. With a surge of his wings, he shot toward Tang Hao in the formation's core.
Tang Hao's Killing God Domain flared fully. A vortex of murderous aura shaped itself into a huge scarlet giant, brandishing a massive Clear Sky Hammer the size of a small mountain.
"That's still not all – Nine-Ring Detonation!"
All two yellow, four black, and one red ring under Tang Hao's feet turned golden. Those golden rings instantly shattered. The titanic blast of energy channeled into his body. The giant figure turned fully golden, overshadowing the original blood hue. The hammer too, shining like a golden sun.
Inside that sun, Tang Hao coughed up blood under the double backlash of the formation's infusion and his ring detonations. Blood spurted from his mouth and open wounds. Hanks of his dark hair turned snowy white.
Suffering that grievous damage, Tang Hao's stare remained resolute. With a deep breath, he howled, raising the gigantic hammer overhead and slamming it down at the Killing King.
Faced with that golden sun, the Killing King's Slaughter Domain—and all its pent-up blood—was blasted aside. Even his domain struggled under the crushing weight, shrinking fast. The sensation of death loomed.
He would die—surely die.
That was the repeated echo in the Killing King's mind. His domain driven back, he had no way to block that blow himself. There was only one option: bring out Tang Chen.
In an instant, those blood-red eyes went inky black, and an ancient, hoarse voice roared: "Rakshasa!"
At that moment, Tang Chen was busy pounding Bibi Dong into a fool again and again, while she repeatedly regenerated. He felt the monstrous might of the golden sun overhead and reflexively grabbed his Clear Sky Hammer. With no time for his Grand Sumeru Hammer, he triggered his tenth spirit ring, the hundred-thousand-year ring.
A hundred-thousand-year ring skill triggers instantly, faster even than a mere hundred-year ring. Bibi Dong's Abyssal Strike of Spatial Rend was similarly instant, though she could power it up with absorbing death aura.
Tang Chen's blood-hued Clear Sky Hammer blazed with sinister runes. He swung it in a single-handed blow at the descending golden sun. The two collided.
Far off—some tens of thousands of meters from the Clear Sky Clan—Qian Xunji's group could already see the colossal golden sun perched atop the clan's mountain. In a flash of red and gold, a gigantic mushroom cloud soared upward, engulfing almost a third of the Heavenly Clear Mountains. A thunderous boom reverberated for who knew how many kilometers. The terrifying shockwave uprooted countless big trees, shredding them to bits, and parted the clouds in the sky.
Tang Yuehua, Tang San, Tang Tian, and Tang Hu stared in stupefaction. The Clear Sky Clan—was it finished?
