"8 points.." I murmured "Why does it feel.. underwhelming..?"

[ It may not seem impressive, but you must take your unique constitution into account. Normally, one would begin extremely weak and gradually grow stronger over time. However, in your case, you already far surpass the average person from the very beginning. As a result, your growth rate is slower, but your potential possesses almost no ceiling. ]

"I suppose that makes sense…"

During my time here, I had already noticed just how physically superior I was compared to the average townsfolk. Even without trying, the difference between us was obvious.

Lost in thought, I began wondering just how strong people in this world could truly become. So far, I hadn't met anyone who regularly engaged in real battles or life-and-death combat.

Maybe once I reach that dungeon city, I'll finally get a better idea…

But for now, I had something more important to focus on.

Alright then… how should I distribute my points?

My speed already felt more than sufficient for now, and my magic was progressing nicely as well. As for defense…

Honestly, with my regeneration, I wasn't overly worried about survivability.

Strength it is.

[ Confirmed. Strength has increased: 70 → 78 ]

"Hey, System… now that we have some time, there's something I've been meaning to ask." I leaned back slightly before continuing. "About the sealed magic—how exactly am I supposed to unseal it?"

[ I do not know. When I was given to you, I was only installed with a basic level of information regarding your nature and abilities. Unfortunately, knowledge regarding Time Magic and Spatial Magic was not included. ]

"Figures…" I muttered with a sigh. "Those two abilities would be completely life-changing. I guess they were never going to make it easy for me."

[ If I were to offer any advice regarding the unsealing process, it would be this: explore what it truly means to be a vampire. ]

"What it truly means to be a vampire…?" I repeated quietly.

My brows furrowed in confusion.

"What else even is there besides drinking blood…?"

Letting out a long sigh, I leaned back in my chair, lost in thought.

"I guess this is something that'll take time. It's not like I'm in a huge rush anyway."

My gaze drifted lazily toward the window. Judging by the position of the sun, only about an hour had passed. Syllia probably wouldn't be back for quite a while yet.

I could go wander around the village again, maybe find something to do…

But honestly, I didn't really feel like being around people if I could avoid it.

Syllia was the only exception.

Pushing myself up from the chair, I wandered back toward the bed, letting myself fall onto the soft mattress. The warmth and comfort immediately swallowed me whole.

"Haa… maybe I'll just sleep until then…" I mumbled sleepily as my eyes slowly drifted shut.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shutting the door behind me, I turned and began making my way home, practically skipping down the path.

"Eek! I'm so excited!" I whispered to myself with a bright smile. "It's been so long since I've been able to spend time with Mom like this. I can't wait to tell her everything!"

But as the excitement bubbled inside me, it slowly began to fade.

"I wonder how she'll react when I tell her I want to leave the village with Lucy for a while…"

There was no way I would let Lucy travel alone.

I wasn't entirely sure when it had happened. Maybe it was because of everything she had done for me. Maybe it was all the… intimate moments we had shared together. Or maybe it was something else entirely that I still hadn't fully realized yet.

But the thought of her leaving this village…

Leaving me…

Made my chest ache.

My smile brightened once more.

I'm sure she'll understand.

Even though Mom tried to deny it, I could tell from Lucy's reaction after she woke up that the very first thing Mom did was tease her about something. That had to mean she approved of her at least a little.

Though honestly…

To get that kind of reaction out of Lucy…

What in the world could Mom have possibly said during the short time I was gone?

Pushing the front door open, the first thing I noticed was that the mess of herbs and alchemy equipment I had scattered around earlier had been completely cleaned up and neatly put away.

Standing in the kitchen, right in the middle of wiping down the counter, was Mom.

"Mom!" I shouted in surprise. "What are you doing?!"

Rushing forward, I quickly snatched the cleaning cloth from her hands.

"You don't need to be doing this! Please, just relax—I can handle it." I frowned slightly as I looked around the spotless room. "Besides, this was my mess to begin with. You only just got back on your feet, you don't need to clean up after me."

"Oh, please," she said, taking the cloth back from my hands. "Cleaning was always my thing anyway… it's just been a long time since I was able to do it."

A small grin spread across her face as she continued.

"Besides, your little girlfriend healed me up pretty well. I honestly feel good as new."

Heat immediately rushed to my face.

"G-Girlfriend!?" I sputtered before lowering my voice slightly. "W-We're not exactly like that… yet…"

Mom let out an amused giggle.

"Oh, really? Because that's definitely not how it looked to me," she teased. "Besides, the two of you would be adorable together."

Her expression softened warmly.

"You've never really shown interest in anyone before, so it's nice seeing my baby finally find someone."

"A-Anyway!" attempting to change the subject "Is there anything you'd like to do today? Anything at all?"

She looked lost in thought for a moment before softly replying,

"No… there isn't really anything specific I want to do."

"Perfect!"

Taking her hand, I guided us both into the living room where we sat together and talked for what felt like hours.

I told her everything that had happened over the past few months—from helping the merchants and everything that transpired within the village, to gathering herbs in the forest and eventually…

The topic of me being captured.

My voice faltered slightly as I reached that part of the story. Seeing the visible discomfort and sadness on Mom's face, I tried to stop, not wanting to upset her any further.

But despite how much it clearly hurt her to hear, she gently motioned for me to continue.

So I did.

I explained how Lucy had found me and saved me before anything worse could happen.

Though… I intentionally left out the part about Lucy feeding from me.

That was probably a conversation better saved for another day.

Once I finished talking, Mom remained silent for a moment, a thoughtful expression settling across her face.

"So… Lucy is really that strong, and she can use advanced magic like that, huh?" she asked quietly.

Looking toward me, she continued,

"Where exactly did she come from? I can tell she's a sweet girl, and it's obvious she cares about you a great deal, but abilities like that usually require years of training."

"That's the strange part…" I replied, my enthusiasm fading slightly. "She doesn't remember."

Mom's expression shifted slightly in surprise.

"According to her, she woke up alone in the forest with no idea how she got there. After wandering around for a while, she eventually found me." I hesitated briefly before continuing more softly. "But anything before that… she can't remember at all."

"She's been talking about leaving the village for a while now… traveling to other cities and exploring the world a bit, but…"

Sadness slowly spread across my face as my gaze drifted toward the floor.

"You want to go with her, don't you?" Mom asked gently.

"I do…" I admitted softly. "I really do."

Clutching my hands together tightly, I took a slow breath before continuing.

"I know it hasn't been very long since we met, but… whenever I imagine her leaving—imagine not being able to stay by her side—it makes my chest hurt."

My voice grew quieter.

"But you only just recovered… and I'd feel horrible leaving you alone so soon after you finally got back on your feet."

Before I realized it, Mom had already pulled me into a warm embrace.

"Oh, my sweet girl… you worry too much," she whispered softly.

Her hand gently stroked my hair as she continued.

"I meant it when I said I'm perfectly fine now. I don't fully understand the extent of the magic Lucy used on me, but I can tell it was incredibly powerful." She let out a small laugh. "Honestly, I feel better now than I have in years."

Pulling back slightly, she smiled warmly at me.

"And besides… I know you'd regret it terribly if you let this chance slip away."

Her expression softened further.

"You were always going to leave the village someday. I've known that for a long time, and I've always been prepared for it."

A teasing smile crossed her lips.

"And knowing you'll have someone like Lucy watching over you honestly puts my mind at ease. So"

Gently taking my hands in hers, Mom guided my gaze back toward her.

"Go with her," she said softly. "We elves live long lives, I'm not worried about you never coming back."

I nodded slightly, tears beginning to gather in my eyes.

Before I knew it, I had thrown my arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug.

"Okay…" I whispered shakily. "I'll go with her."

"Good," she replied warmly, returning the embrace with a smile. "I'm glad to hear it."

"But!" I suddenly pulled back, sitting up with renewed enthusiasm. "I'll visit whenever I can! And I'll write lots of letters too!"

Mom chuckled softly at my excitement.

"I know you will."
