"Hatoru? You're a friend of that old man?" Christopher's brows drew together as he gave Yohan another once-over. "You don't look like one of his people."
"That's because I'm not." Yohan leaned back slightly on the chair, arms folded across his chest. "I wouldn't even call us friends. He's just someone I know."
"And he told you about me?"
"No, not exactly. I figured things out on my own… though he was involved," Yohan said, not wanting to go into detail.
"I see." The Baker nodded calmly. "Is that why you were looking for me? Freddie mentioned you seemed very interested."
That much was true.
For a long time, Yohan had wanted to meet this man. But now that he was here… he couldn't quite say why.
The man sitting across from him clearly possessed something unnatural—something similar to his own abilities and asking about it directly would be the worst possible move because It would mean exposing his greatest secret.
He wasn't ready for that.
