Chapter 441 - DSMW [441]

"The fourth Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

The monster summon that utterly shattered the worldview of the elite researchers of Kaiba Entertainment Group.

To speak honestly, even if Miles had used "Relay Soul" to Special Summon a God Card, no one would have been this shocked.

The Blue-Eyes White Dragon card. What is that? It is the very symbol of the Kaiba Entertainment Group.

The legendary strongest card said to exist only in three copies, all held by the company president, Seto Kaiba.

Though rumors once said that originally there had been a fourth copy of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, that fourth card had, because of Seto Kaiba, become unusable in duels.

"A Blue-Eyes White Dragon appearing at a time like this… don't tell me…!"

Watching this scene, Ether suddenly recalled and realized something.

Before the duel began, Miles had borrowed a card from Kaima.

"Don't tell me that card was Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

Even without definite proof, Ether's intuition as an elite intellectual pointed clearly toward that conclusion.

This little girl resembled President Kaiba so much that, if one insisted, it could still be called a coincidence. Albeit holding a Blue-Eyes White Dragon in her hand could no longer be explained as a mere coincidence.

"Who exactly are you people?"

A duel that had been full of "surprises" from the start only continued to shift, turning more and more from "surprises" into "astonishment."

In the end, Miles accepted Chi's wager—to bet on "Gandora the Dragon of Destruction," wagering that he could defeat the Duel King Machine System that used the forbidden card "Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition."

Of course, no matter how rare "Gandora the Dragon of Destruction" was, compared to the "fourth" Blue-Eyes White Dragon, it was like a firefly before the moon.

So Miles' wager was clever.

A gambler's self-discipline—never enter a losing bet.

When placing his stake, Miles never said he was betting the Blue-Eyes White Dragon card.

After all, that card belonged to Kaima Seth, and he had no right to put it on the line.

What Miles said was—he would wager "a reason you absolutely cannot refuse!"

The existence of a fourth Blue-Eyes White Dragon card was the wager itself.

That's right. Not the Blue-Eyes White Dragon card as an object, but merely the fact that it existed was already something the people of KaibaCorp could neither refuse nor dare to refuse.

If Kaiba learned that a Blue-Eyes White Dragon was in Miles' hands, yet Miles deliberately vanished with the card… Guess where Seto Kaiba's fury would land.

From just a few exchanges, the bearded researcher had already felt that his own position was now in danger.

"I understand!" Sid Meyer said, taking the communication mic. "I accept your terms. Now, the duel continues!"

He accepted the condition Miles proposed, but that did not mean KaibaCorp would obediently hand Gandora over to an outsider.

If anything, judging from the current state of the duel, the Duel King Yugi Muto AI still had an overwhelming chance of victory.

Don't look at how Miles, using the activation of the Trap Card "Relay Soul," managed to lock his LP at 0.

But now, having tied his defeat condition to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the threat Miles faced remained unchanged—the violently destructive black-gold dragon, "Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition."

Yugi Muto raised his arm toward Gandora-X, pulling the destructive red light spreading across the field back toward the dragon's body.

"Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition's effect! This card's Attack becomes equal to the damage dealt to you!"

[Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition, ATK: 0 → 4800]

"Roooaaarrr—!"

Inheriting the highest Attack among the destroyed monsters—4800, from Dimension Reflector—Gandora-X, the raging black-gold tyrant dragon, roared at the Blue-Eyes White Dragon bathed in radiant light.

Dark Aisha lamented, "Predaplant Starving Venom Fusion Dragon's effect can't destroy Gandora-X…"

Starving Venom Fusion Dragon's last will effect destroys all Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls when it's destroyed.

Even so, Yugi had Tribute Summoned "Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition."

And the moment Gandora-X appeared, it immediately destroyed every other monster on the field. You could say it perfectly sealed Starving Venom's last will.

"Since you intend to continue fighting, Miles, then let the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition settle this!"

Controlling Gandora-X, Yugi declared the start of the Battle Phase.

One black and one white—each duelist commanded a dragon, both roaring wildly without giving an inch.

Nonetheless, the unavoidable truth was this: Yugi Muto and Gandora-X had higher Attack than Miles and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, now bound together by shared fate.

"Strike head-on, Gandora-X!"

Gathering the dense red beams covering the field and condensing them into its own strength, Gandora-X unleashed a crimson dragon breath burst straight ahead.

"—Demolition X Burst Flash!!"

"Miles!" Kaima cried out anxiously. "You tied the outcome to Blue-Eyes White Dragon—don't lose this easily!"

"Of course not! I'll protect it for you—this Blue-Eyes White Dragon that's more important to me than my own life!"

"You!!!"

Facing the incoming red destructive flash, a card ejected from Miles' Graveyard.

"Block this strike, Blue-Eyes! Burst Stream of Demolition!'"

Chi panicked. "That won't work! Blue-Eyes White Dragon doesn't have the Attack to match Gandora-X!"

"This isn't just an ordinary Burst Stream—it's the Kuriboh version!"

The two dragons' clash exploded with red and white effects, and wedged right between them was a round little Kuriboh.

"I banish Relinkuriboh from my Graveyard and use Kuriboh's effect to prevent Blue-Eyes White Dragon's destruction!"

When all hope seems lost, Kuriboh is always the one you can trust.

Relinkuriboh, sent to the Graveyard as material for Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, protected something far more important than Miles' own LP—the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

The gaze of the Duel King Yugi Muto AI shifted subtly.

Even though it was merely computer-calculated data, witnessing a Kuriboh protecting the Blue-Eyes still stirred something.

"Amazing, Miles-kun."

This time, Yugi's praise didn't frighten Miles at all.

Why? Because his LP was already 0. No matter how much Yugi tried to mess with him now, it wouldn't matter.

"I Set one card. Turn end."

As he Set the final card in his hand, Yugi's Life Points sharply dropped.

"During my End Phase, if Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition is on the field, my remaining Life Points are halved."

[Yugi, LP: 4000 → 2000]

Life halved—that seemed to be the shared drawback of all Gandora monsters.

To borrow such overwhelming, destructive power was also to pay the price in the duelist's life.

"This is my chance!"

Though it was the first time in the duel Miles had lowered the Duel King AI's LP—and only because of Yugi's own card effect—it didn't change the fact that Miles had seized the weakness created by Gandora-X's drawback, the perfect window to strike.

"My turn—draw!"

At the start of the turn, Miles drew his only card.

But just one card wasn't enough. He still needed another: something more crucial to break through.

And for a moment like this, he had just the card.

"—The effect of Fusion Substitute in my Graveyard activates!"

[(2) You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Fusion Monster in your GY; return it to the Extra Deck, then draw 1 card.]

Fusion Substitute, compared to regular Polymerization, had the restriction of only using monsters on the field as Fusion Materials.

In exchange, it came with a second effect—recovering a Fusion Monster and drawing a card.

And when used with Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, which uses DARK monsters on the field as materials, it was practically a pure profit deal.

"I return Starving Venom Fusion Dragon in my Graveyard to the Extra Deck, then draw one card! It's about time you showed up!"

Showing the bond with Aisha's Deck, the pure white glow drawn from Miles' fingertips was perhaps one-tenth of what he had when he summoned the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

"I choose you—Normal Summon in Attack Position: Mokey Mokey!"

[Mokey Mokey ATK: 300]

Late but finally here, the tofu-block soul card of Aisha's Deck drifted lazily beside the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the question mark above its head bobbing gently.

Both being lowly mortals, yet their Attack differed by a factor of ten.

"Huh?" Chi gaped. "Summoning a monster like that at such a critical moment… is that really useful?!"

"Hmph." Kaima snorted. "You really don't understand anything. I envy your innocence."

Miles swept his hand and flipped his only Set back-row card.

"Now for my brand-new tactic—something only possible here! The duet of Mokey Mokey and Blue-Eyes!"

The duet of Mokey Mokey and Blue-Eyes. Indeed, only in the inner space of the obelisk tower—where cards could be freely exchanged—could the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and a tofu block appear on Miles' field together.

"—Trap Card, The League of Uniform Nomenclature!"

[Select 1 face-up Level 2 or lower Normal Monster you control; Special Summon as many monsters as possible from your Deck with the same name as that selected monster.]

"I target Mokey Mokey—then Special Summon two more Mokey Mokey from my Deck!"

[Mokey Mokey ATK: 300] -_-? ×3

Floating through the air, three silly tofu-block monsters with question marks appeared.

The square tofu blocks orbiting around the massive Blue-Eyes White Dragon truly did give off the feeling of a coordinated dance.

A feeling like: "Our Attack values combined almost reach 4000!"

"Three Level 1 monsters!"

Smart as Ether was—an elite researcher of KaibaCorp—she grasped the key point at a glance after having seen Xyz Summoning once before.

"Don't tell me Miles is going to use a Rank 1 Xyz Summon?"

"Half correct."

Miles extended his arm forward, revealing the last card in his hand as he pointed toward the Blue-Eyes White Dragon—his shared-fate partner.

"I am using an Xyz Summon—but not Rank 1! Spell Card, Galaxy Queen's Light—activate!"

[Choose 1 Level 7 or higher monster you control; until the End Phase, the Levels of all face-up monsters you control become the same as the chosen monster's Level.]

"I target the Level 8 Blue-Eyes White Dragon—and use its evolution star-force through Galaxy Queen's Light!"

Using Blue-Eyes' own Level to unify the field—that was the essence of their "duet."

"Let the three Mokey Mokey on my field all become Level 8!"

[Mokey Mokey LV1 → LV8]

Mokey Mokey had ascended. Though still a tofu block, the pure white glow it now emitted seemed even more radiant at Level 8.

"This will be the final winning summon. Ready, Duel King?"

Only after Blue-Eyes and Mokey Mokey combined the soul cards of Aisha and Kaima could the path to defeating the Duel King be carved open.

"Overlay the three Level 8 Mokey Mokey to construct the overlay network!"

The beam of light reaching the edge of the galaxy transformed into wings—the combined power of three.

"At the end of the galactic light's guidance, let the brilliance of new power descend! Armored emergence—Xyz Summon! Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon!"

[Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon] Rank 8│LIGHT│Dragon│4000 ATK

[3 Level 8 monsters]

Armor fused, its black cosmic plating draped across its body. With a roar that shattered the triple-evolution Xyz effect upon its violent appearance—Full Armor Photon Dragon descended.

Mouth hanging wide, Dark Aisha gasped. "Miles actually used Mokey Mokey… to Xyz Summon Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon."

It was also a card inherited from their ancestor Yuna Carlos.

Compared to Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, which fused easily, this Rank 8 Xyz was originally extremely difficult to summon in Aisha's Deck.

Nevertheless, in the world of Duel Monsters, there is always a way.

Miles' newly devised tactic used Galaxy Queen's Light to copy the Level of an 8-star monster, letting low-Level monsters overlay the galaxy.

"Clash your black-gold armor and seize victory! Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon—effect activate!"

[Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it.]

Detaching Mokey Mokey from beneath the Full Armor Photon Dragon, its brutal destruction effect was enough to blast open a rift in the galaxy.

"Shatter before the ultimate armament of the Heavy Armor Photon Dragon—Gandora-X the Dragon of Demolition! Armored Photon Break!!"

Armor clashed. The collision of Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon and Gandora-X sparked countless bursting lights across the simulated arena.

Forging blades from armor, forging radiance from plating, Full Armor Photon Dragon soared on galactic wings and finally pierced through Gandora-X's massive black frame.

Ether: "No monsters left on the Duel King's field!"

Chi: "An unbeatable, once-in-a-lifetime chance!"

Miles pumped his fist forward. "Attack directly, Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon!"

Even after using its once-per-turn destruction effect, Full Armor Photon Dragon—unlike Blue-Eyes Alternative—did not lose its battle capability. With 4000 Attack, it slashed another blade of light toward Yugi.

Facing a lethal strike, the Duel King AI flipped its final Set card.

"—Trap Card activate: Magic Cylinder!"

[When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Target the attacking monster; negate the attack, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's Attack.]

"With Magic Cylinder, I negate Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon's attack—and reflect 4000 damage back at you!"

The reflected photon blast: another 4000 damage.

Just as Miles expected, these fatal trap effects—he could not possibly block them all.

Then the best answer—don't defend at all!

Miles LP: 0

With no fear—his Life Points already long gone—Miles stepped forward firmly.

The gorgeous reflected galactic radiance of Magic Cylinder passed cleanly through him.

The destructive light couldn't stop him from continuing toward victory.

"I win, Yu↑gi↓!"

The brilliant galactic glow only made Miles, bathed in the light as he declared his attack, look even more overwhelming.

"I still have one monster that hasn't attacked!"

"Roooaaarrr—!"

With Miles' final attack declaration, his shared-fate partner—the Blue-Eyes White Dragon—charged through the galaxy, wings spread as white light gathered.

"Let Blue-Eyes White Dragon deliver the finishing blow!"

The last strike cleaved through the galaxy with blinding white destruction, a victorious path interwoven by Aisha's and Kaima's Decks.

"Direct Attack with Relay Soul! This is my—Soul Burst Stream of Destruction!"

With no cards left to use, the Yugi Muto AI, seeing Miles break through every trap it had, smiled and lowered its Duel Disk.

"Beautifully done, Miles-kun!"

The final Burst Stream exploded across the field, wiping out Yugi's remaining Life Points.

[Yugi, LP: 2000 → 0]

The Duel King Yugi Muto—was defeated by the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

It was the sight countless researchers at KaibaCorp, and President Seto Kaiba himself, most wanted to see.

However, although the monster that defeated Yugi Muto was indeed the Blue-Eyes White Dragon… it was not Seto Kaiba's Blue-Eyes.

Miles & Kaima: "It's our Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
