Chapter 21 - I Know You're Playing Dumb

[Chaos] is the first God of the [chaos] Fate, the prelude to [chaos], the madness of disorder, and the mortal enemy of [Order].

His will advocates that there is no pattern in the world at all, and the ultimate state of the universe should be chaotic and disordered. Therefore, Players who believe in Him are often affected by His will and are somewhat abnormal.

If we were to choose the most popular Players, [Order] believers would undoubtedly be the choice.

But if we were to choose the most unpopular Players, believers of [corruption], [annihilation], [foolishness], and other Evil Gods would have to rank behind. [Chaos] believers should have a landslide victory.

Because in Trials, they not only don't help much, but they often hinder things.

Of course, the phrase "hinder things" here is also a euphemism. Out of their aversion to rules and their philosophy of trampling on Order, they often "maliciously" cause trouble.

But this kind of "malice," to them, is out of "goodwill," because they feel that they are guiding the Trial towards disorder.

And disorder is the "ultimate" state of the universe.

For believers of [Chaos], don't provoke them too much, just let them be.

Fang Shiqing quickly skipped over Huang Bo and looked at Bailing.

Bailing also waved her hand, saying weakly:

"I didn't find any problems. If I had to say something, it's probably that the men here are a bit too strong."

As she spoke, she couldn't help but lick her Mouth, "They're excessively strong."

"None of them... This isn't right." Fang Shiqing subconsciously filtered out the feverish bird's provocative words and began to lower her head in thought.

If every corner of the memory scene is unusually clear, then there is only one possibility: the owner of the memory knows everyone, so He can completely supplement every individual in the memory.

But according to the previous investigation, the bar patrons seemed to be strangers to each other.

But how could strangers have such clear Memories of each other?

Could someone be plotting something in the bar?

Just as everyone was deep in thought, Cheng Shi, bored, raised his wine glass and complained:

"Where are the bar attendants? The drinks are gone, why haven't they come to refill? Shouldn't they be constantly watching every table and actively serving customers?"

As soon as He finished speaking, Xu Lu across from Him gave Him a look of contempt, like looking at a slacker.

However, Bailing, who was next to Him, agreed very much, threw Him a wink, and also put a new label on Cheng Shi in her heart: A slacker seeking pleasure.

Fang Shiqing also heard it. At first, she felt quite powerless, thinking that in this round, except for the Little Assassin A Ming, who was hiding a secret, everyone else was just slacking off.

But for some reason, watching Cheng Shi crane his neck to look for the attendant, a flash of light suddenly crossed her mind, and she slammed the book in her hand onto the table.

With a "bang!", everyone jumped.

"Attendant!"

"Ah?"

"?"

Fang Shiqing said with some excitement:

"It's the attendant! Cheng Shi is right. Only the attendants would constantly pay attention to the movements of the guests at all tables, and only they would be familiar with these guests. That's why the memory of every corner is clear, because they already know everything here!"

Xu Lu's eyes widened as she looked at Cheng Shi. Seeing that Cheng Shi was equally bewildered, the shock in her heart lessened a little.

It seemed like He didn't expect it either, maybe it was a lucky guess...

Cheng Shi indeed acted very bewildered. He tried his best to widen his eyes, blinked a few times quickly, and said confusedly:

"Did I say that?"

Fang Shiqing gave Him a meaningful look, quickly got up, and prepared to approach the various attendants.

During the previous investigation, she hadn't not heard the attendants talking, but for the bar patrons, the attendants spoke too little and had little useful information, so she quickly skipped over them.

Seeing her move so quickly, Cheng Shi kindly reminded her:

"Da Lao, slow down. The patrons here are so strong and have drunk so much. Their temper isn't good. Don't rush like this and make them angry. If a fight breaks out, we'll be in danger!"

These words sounded like dragging her down. Xu Lu, who was following behind Fang Shiqing, her face showing a hint of anger, looked back. Even A Ming, who had just gotten up, awkwardly glanced back at Cheng Shi.

"Cheng Shi, you..."

But when Fang Shiqing heard this, her whole body suddenly froze, and another flash of inspiration crossed her mind.

Human memory is not a completely objective reproduction; it often carries subjective bias.

There's a saying that goes, "As I see things, so they are colored by me," which is the best portrayal of memory.

If the bar patrons in this memory scene are generally strong, it means that the memory entity is likely to have subjectively felt that they were very strong when interacting with these patrons.

Inferring backward from this, this person is likely very thin, and even thinner than ordinary people!

A thin attendant is very likely the answer to this layer of memory!

Fang Shiqing's eyes lit up. She glanced at Cheng Shi again, saw that He was still playing dumb, and didn't expose Him. She just quickly walked upstairs with A Ming.

"I remember you said there was an attendant sleeping in the lounge upstairs?"

A Ming immediately recalled and replied: "Yes, He's relatively tall, relatively thin, and His leg is a little disabled."

"It's Him!"

Fang Shiqing walked upstairs without looking back. The other two followed closely. Seeing that she seemed to have found the answer, Bailing also immediately got up and prepared to catch up.

As she passed by Cheng Shi, she gently slid her fingernail across Cheng Shi's hand and chuckled:

"I underestimated you, Da Lao."

At the same time, she put a new label on Cheng Shi in her heart: A master of fishing.

Cheng Shi smiled and didn't pay attention to her.

Fang Shiqing led everyone to the locked lounge. A Ming just pointed His finger at the keyhole on the door, and the door opened in response.

"This is?" Xu Lu asked in surprise.

"Professional talent, Finger Key." A Ming replied shyly.

Cheng Shi silently raised A Ming's rating in his heart, because this talent is A-Level, and it's an A-Level that's not easy to get.

Moreover, this talent is indeed for the Assassin profession, which means that He didn't lie about His profession.

He hid His score.

In that case, did He believe in [Order] or [war]?

Fang Shiqing stepped into the dark room, reached out and tore a page from a book, shook the paper in the air, and the paper immediately shrunk into a lantern, illuminating the entire room.

A melodious song also came from the paper lantern: "Oh God ~ bring light ~, Oh mortals ~ sing for it ~"

The Bo Wen Poet's trick finally appeared before everyone's eyes.

"Tsk tsk, it sounds quite good."

The voice was clearly Fang Shiqing's own voice. Cheng Shi didn't expect this English Teacher to sound quite charming when singing folk songs.

But the opening of the door and the singing still woke up the sleeping attendant. He opened his eyes in confusion, looked at a group of people standing in front of Him, and said somewhat fearfully:

"If you... need help, you can find Zado. I'm off duty."

Fang Shiqing smiled slightly at the attendant:

"We're here for you."

"For me?" The attendant was a little scared. He clutched His blanket tightly and said with a tremor: "I don't seem to know you..."

"Don't be afraid, we're not here to cause you trouble."

As she spoke, she looked back at Cheng Shi and gave Him a look.

Cheng Shi understood her intention. He casually cast a Calming Spell on the attendant, and also a Hypnosis Spell.

After all, He was a Priest, so He had all the basic skills.

Fang Shiqing smiled approvingly, then turned back and said:

"Calm down, think carefully. Everything you see is just your memory. This is already in the past. Now, you shouldn't be immersed in memory, right?"

The attendant's eyes became more and more confused, and then He nodded and said:

"Yes, that's right, I remember now, this is my memory."

"Hoo--"

"Crash..."

As His words fell, the attendant's entire body suddenly shattered like a mirror, dissipating into countless star points, and then slowly gathered into a deep blue passage resembling a mirror.

The answer was correct. The Players found the exit of this layer of memory.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Fang Shiqing raised her eyebrows, signaling that everyone could leave in an orderly manner.

"Huang Bo hasn't come up yet..." A Ming reminded cautiously.

"Never mind Him, let's go first."

Cheng Shi pouted and was the first to step in.

Before leaving, He turned His face and exchanged glances with Fang Shiqing in front of Him, understanding each other's eyes.

What Fang Shiqing said was: I know you're playing dumb.

What Cheng Shi said was: Abba abba abba.

Seeing Cheng Shi, who hadn't put in any effort, go first, Xu Lu, behind Fang Shiqing, quietly pinched her fingers and muttered:

"What kind of person is that? He's only active at this time."

Fang Shiqing heard it and smiled. In her heart, she silently complained:

"What kind of man would like this kind of person? So silly, and a little pathetic."

Everyone followed suit. A Ming was the last one, looking downstairs with a conflicted expression. After a long while, He turned around and stepped in.
