Xue Dili initially always thought that the Elf species might have some connection with Carl, the Dark Elf Agent of the 13th Expeditionary Team.
But later he discovered that most likely, they had similar names and nothing more. The Dark Elf race of Agent Carl didn't even resemble human form; it was more akin to "mountain spirits" or something like that.
Today's Elf species seem more like descendants of Dominic, a human race possessing part of the Divine Tree's genes.
Also, due to the influence of Apostles, the Divine Tree is quite widespread across the Cosmos. Thus, the Elf species is considered a relatively common group.
Xue Dili even pondered that from this perspective, the Lord of Mist might also be considered as an "Elf species." He might even be the ancestor of all Elf species since he was the first being to fuse with the Divine Tree and spread it out.
