"It's time to let you know. Senior Brother Taihe is old and has asked the Celestial Monarch to resign; he wishes to return to the Daoist Palace for quiet recuperation."
"What?"
Immortal Jing Lian suddenly looked up, her eyes full of shock.
"That Immortal City..."
"That's correct."
True Monarch Wu Wei nodded: "The Immortal City will have a new master."
He paused, his tone remaining calm: "The Celestial Monarch is still contemplating, there is some time yet."
With that said, he spoke no more.
Immortal Jing Lian held her breath, not daring to ask further.
Myriad Phenomena Immortal City is the barrier to the Myriad Phenomena Daoist Palace, where three thousand Spirit Veins converge, an economic lifeline of the region.
Its importance is self-evident.
Her own master has served as the Deputy City Lord for more than a hundred years.
In terms of qualifications and cultivation, taking over the Immortal City is not without hope.
It's just not highly likely.
