The village chief's voice echoed through every corner of Daping Village via the old loudspeaker.
At that moment,
the villagers working in the fields raised their bewildered faces, children playing at the village entrance were stunned, vendors frowned, and passersby stopped in their tracks.
After a brief silence, chaos erupted.
"What's happening?"
"Leave, why do we have to leave?"
"A wild Pet Beast attack? Or a landslide?"
In the relatively small Daping Village, the village chief's announcement caused chaos. The villagers in the fields abandoned their tools and hurried home:
The children at the village entrance were picked up by their parents and carried away;
The vendors, confused, quickly packed up their stalls and locked their doors;
The passersby were in disarray, some looking around to find out why, others running toward the village outskirts to ensure their safety.
