As they got closer, the voices became clearer, and they could finally make out what was being said, realizing these voices were somewhat muffled as if coming through a wall:

You Su listened to the voices of the two people; they sounded somewhat familiar. They were two of his friendly elders among the common people.
At the end of this passageway, there indeed was a wall, but hearing the volume of the voices, it was clear the wall was thin and had been built many years ago.
