In a short moment, Atlas was already high in the sky, hovering far above the ground. His wings beat slowly, keeping him suspended in the air, while his right hand remained tightly wrapped around Aurex's throat.
Aurex dangled helplessly in front of him, his feet kicking at empty air.
"Please, Lord Atlas," Aurex gasped, clawing weakly at Atlas's wrist. "Spare me. Have mercy under the will of the heavens. I beg you. Give me another chance."
Atlas tightened his grip.
"I have waited a long time for this moment," he said coldly.
"Please… forgive me," Aurex choked out. "Grant me one chance. I swear I will change. I will follow the will of the heavens. I will obey every command. I will never defy you again."
Atlas's jaw tightened.
"You brought suffering and torment to the people of this city," he said. "And you think you can simply walk away from that?"
