Chapter 236 - Chapter 236 First Circle Curse Creature

Locke flew over a deep green pool of strong acid while carrying Albert and Sisyphus, leaving the army of Curse Erosion Spore Ghouls behind.

Seeing they had escaped danger, Sisyphus finally relaxed his tense nerves. But as soon as he let his guard down, he was seized by another violent coughing fit, even coughing up blood clots. Locke keenly noticed that these blood clots contained traces of Curse Erosion Spores.

The main research focus of High-level Curse Master [Rasheed Tarir] in this special project seemed to be the Curse Erosion Spores within microscopic curse creatures, while the research on Plague Cores was even more incomplete.

In contrast, the Curse Erosion Spores appeared to have at least produced a batch of barely usable monstrous things.

Seeing Sisyphus in such a weakened state, Albert thought for a moment and said to Locke, "Junior Locke, sell Sisyphus a bottle of Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion!"

"He's about to collapse."

Locke looked puzzled. "What? Senior Albert, don't you have better potions to counter Curse Erosion Spores? I noticed you're barely infected by them, and I was actually going to ask you for some."

Albert slapped his forehead. "That's not it at all. The reason I haven't been infected by Curse Erosion Spores is because I took your Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion. I was surprised to discover that your potion can enhance my Magic Resistance immunity."

"As I've said before, I'm not a Potionology Master who specializes in research and healing potions. In this area, you're the expert."

Albert then asked, "Was the Troll Adrenaline Potion effective? That's my exclusive secret formula."

Flying mid-air, Locke nodded.

The Troll Adrenaline Potion had activated his Mana, increasing his speed when using Plant Mimicry by at least twenty percent.

That's why even now, while carrying two people, his flying speed was only about five percent slower than before.

Locke opened his Astral Ring and let Albert take out a bottle of Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion himself, waving off any payment.

After all, Albert had given him the Troll Adrenaline Potion for free, and this could be considered normal combat consumption.

In the midst of war, commercial transactions didn't really apply.

After Albert fed Sisyphus a bottle of Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion, Sisyphus's complexion improved slightly, showing some color returning to his face.

Albert sighed with relief, saying, "Fortunately, we still have your special medicine, otherwise Sisyphus would be in serious trouble.Locke glanced at Sisyphus while flying through the air and said, "But even the Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion can't completely eliminate the Curse Erosion Spores from his body now. It can only temporarily suppress them."

"The true nature of Curse Erosion Spores is Demonized Fungus and curse creatures - both have characteristics that make them difficult to completely eliminate."

"He's not like us who weren't initially infected by Curse Erosion Spores and could resist the infection after boosting our Magic Resistance. His flesh and blood are already too heavily infected with Curse Erosion Spores. We'll have to take him back to the academy first and let the First Circle Wizards figure out a solution."

Sisyphus was afflicted with a genuine First Circle Wizard's curse, something an ordinary Potionology Assistant couldn't possibly help with.

Sisyphus expressed his gratitude to Locke, saying, "Thank you."

"Unfamiliar Wizard."

Locke then consulted with Albert, stating, "But there's still one problem, Senior Albert."

"We're currently confined to a partial section of this research institute, sealed off by a corridor of magical traps."

"I originally entered by using flight magic to forcibly traverse that corridor of magical traps."

"But now, with both of you in tow, even if I use your Troll Adrenaline Potion, I'm not confident I can cross that curse magic trap corridor again."

Locke added, "In my current state, I can only carry one person at most. That was my original expectation."

Upon hearing this, both Albert and Sisyphus fell into deep thought. Indeed, only Locke possessed the ability of flight magic among them.

Yet there were three of them.

Asking Locke to carry the other two alone through a trap-laden corridor set by a High-level Curse Master was simply too demanding.

Suddenly, Albert warned, "Watch out!"

Locke, still in mid-air, noticed the three Omen Mandrake Vines wrapped around his right arm suddenly turn red, signaling danger.

Out of nowhere, a monstrous creature appeared behind them—its face unrecognizable, covered in red fleshy tumors, skinless, with blood vapor continuously steaming from its body. It extended ten fingers, which elongated in an instant into ten tentacles, attacking Locke.

If not for Locke's foresight and swift reaction, those ten tentacles would have pierced him through in that brief moment.

Locke executed an abrupt mid-air halt, causing the ten tentacles to miss their target.

Simultaneously, the leaf arrangement on the Great Green Owl Banana on his back rapidly reconfigured, allowing Locke to fly in the opposite direction with minimal delay, continuously evading the terrifying monster's follow-up attacks.

The elongating tentacles, like spears, trailed closely behind Locke, brushing past him and piercing the upper walls of the research institute's corridor.

Albert praised, "Locke, the performance of this Flying Magic Plant of yours is truly impressive."

"Are all Flying Magic Plants this good? Before this, I wasn't very interested in them, but now it seems I should save up to buy one too."

Albert glanced back at the pursuing monster and observed, "That seems to be the strongest individual among this mass of failed experiments. Moreover, it actually has Magic Pressure—I highly suspect this is a Ghoul modified from a First Class Wizard Apprentice."

"Its physical capabilities can keep up with our flight speed, and its attack power is at the peak of the apprentice level."

"It's likely a creation personally modified by Rasheed Tarir, meaning it's a work seriously crafted by a First Circle Wizard, though undoubtedly a failed one... Locke, be careful."

Albert used the Bellflower wrapped around his right middle finger to fire over thirty rounds of [Sonic Flower Cracker] at the rear, enveloping the monster in a sky full of invisible sonic projectiles.

This was far more powerful than Angulo's single-shot attacks that required cooldown periods.

The monster's body surface had been blasted with over thirty bowl-sized holes.

Yet its cells, hijacked by the Curse Erosion Spore, regenerated at abnormal speeds. Within an extremely brief time, it had already recovered and restored its body on the spot, giving chase once more.

The terrifying Ghoul roared furiously, its flesh-steaming body leaping across the four walls of the research institute's corridor as it pursued Locke at high speed.

No matter how Locke maneuvered through the air, he could never shake it off.
