After he said those words Levan the Levern family head directly collapsed on the ground and the dark domain he conjured around us began to dissaper like it never existed, somehow during this short fight, I kept getting the feeling that this domain was still a bit lacking in terms of effect and luster .
Maybe it's only my imagination, I still hadn't stepped in that world to know for certain, that thought remind me that I do need to start practicing the methods given to me by Ludo, in hope of gaining more understanding of how the Demon race fight and how their power system actually work .
Not to mention it would also boost my chances against that Demon Emperor who not only was strong, but also quite cunning, as I was deep in thought, I heard the sounds of wings hovering beside me and understood who had approached me instantly .
The two Harpies Fey and Tay appeared beside me and in their eyes and face there was a deep weird emotion of worship, but even though their injuries have already healed, they were still hesitant to approach me directly, seemed to have been alarmed by the sheer strength I had just shown .
Motioning for them to come forward, they instantly closed the distance and directly knelt in front of me and saying in unison :
We are waiting for your instructions .
Seeing them like this, I almost couldn't help losing myself to laughter, but in the end I didn't, not wanting to scare the two women in front of me anymore than they already were .
I asked them to rise up and thanked them for standing here before to safeguard me and only after the two heard the sincere tone in my voice did they finally adhered to my words and rose up, yet for some reason the two of them were blushing .
Disregarding of this weird reaction of theirs, I looked at the guy who was currently unconscious beside us and turned to them and wondered if they had anyway that could help me in waking him up, otherwise I will go for a more forceful approach and slap him awake .
Fortunately for him, the two sisters actually did have a way, asking my permission to implement it, I nodded my head and for some reason I begin to taste something different within me, a feeling that I wasn't able to describe clearly, but it was indeed there, it also wasn't a bad feeling at all, so I kept it at that and didn't dwell much about it .
As the two women began to approach the body on the floor, they both suddenly came to halt, seeing this I couldn't help but wonder what was going on with them, Tay suddenly turned towards me and being the most brave and straightforward of the two she directly said :
But what after we heal him, he only promised to surrender and then he lost conscious, what if he went back on his words, should we really be healing him completely, or just enough for you to be able to deal with him in one blow, if he were to try and play any tricks .
Hearing what she said, I didn't really thought that deep about it, I only wanted him to wake up so that I could tell him his responsibilities and how will the relationship between the two families will go from now on .
But after her pointing this out to me, I couldn't help but ponder slightly on what should I do with him, there was indeed no Binding Contract or anything similar that could allow me to force him to comply with my orders, so him acting out of order after getting healed was very much possible .
After pondering on this for a minute, I finally told them to heal him completely, my decision came to be more or less of a shock to both of them, but they still complied nonetheless, as for why this was my final decision, well the answer was quite simple .
If he did dare to act out of order, then I would be responsible for beating some sense into him, once he try to actually do something, I would beat him back to his current miserable state, it was that simple, but I didn't tell the two of them that, otherwise they might be scared to death at this kind of thinking .
After a slight moment of hesitation, the two still did as they were told and I saw that they spread their wings behind their back then two green beams shot out of both their hands towards the sky, after these beams sunk into the sky, the two women wings began to hover up slightly raising them off the ground .
Then two beams shot back from the sky towards them, I was about to intercept the two beams thinking that the technique they were using backlashed or something, but then I saw them flying up slightly and seemed to be wanting to reach for the beams and I understood that my guess have been wrong .
After the beams descended on the two girls bodies or more accurate to say wings, their wings began to have some kind of inscription on them, then without warning that inscription began to shine brightly in a green light while the two beams were getting dimmer and dimmer .
I then saw the two of them holding their hands in front of them and closing their eyes, then saw that emerald green energy seep into their hands from their wings, then they opened up their hands and in their palms their was a green like fire swirling on top of their palms .
Next, the two pressed their hands on the body of Levan and what happened next was magic, the fire sunk into the body of Levern Family head, then his body seemed to be healing at an alarming rate, then after less than a few seconds, he woke up and started to cough .
Cough, cough .
The guy who fell unconscious a few minutes before finally woke up, at first he was still unbalanced and seeing the two women in front of him and the clear sky behind their heads, he seemed to have thought that all that happened just now was nothing but a nightmare of sort .
But as if sensing my gaze on him, he nervously stood up and get into a fighting stance with his expression become even more grave than before, after merely glancing in his direction once, I once again turned my gaze towards the two girls .
I saw that the green light had dissipated from their wings and understood that they clearly have paid quite the price to use this method or weird technique, the two of them were quite worn out, it was clear from the sweat droplets that formed on their heads and the unstable breathing that could be seen clearly looking at the disturbing rhythm of their chest .
I saw that Tay was looking at me and seemed to be saying ' look I told you that he won't appreciate your kindness ' kind of look, while surprisingly Fey was actually quite fine with this and she even seemed to be happy that she was able to help .
After telling them that they can go and rest, I saw that the two still stubbornly staggering and trying to get in a ready to fight position, seeing them like this, I looked at them and motioned for them to stand down with a more sternly gaze this time .
Seeing the look in my eyes, the two lowered their heads, bowed down then followed my order, after finishing this, I then turned towards Levan and just me simply turning my attention toward him made him take a few steps back in a hurry, almost falling down in the process .
Seeing this, I decided to strike the iron while it was hot and said :
" So let me ask you one last time, are you going to honor the words you said before and surrender, or should I uproot this family of yours today ? .
The guy who was standing in a fighting position before seem to be struggling internally for a while and then he seemed to have finally made up his mind and said :
I'm willing to honor my words, I surrender, from now on the two families will merge with one another .
Hearing him say this, I first turned to look at that woman Tay in the distance and giving her ' trust the process ' kind of look which made the latter smile a bit teasingly at my gesture .
But while I was doing this .I couldn't help but rethink about the words he just said and turned to him and took a few steps forward towards him, much to the bewilderment of him, I then raised my hand and he wasn't even to tell when he got slapped .
Only after the pain came assaulting him did he finally realized that I hit him, looking completely shocked and that shock turned to a mix of anger and bewilderment, then he almost jumped at me and continued to fight, but I raised my index finger up, catching his attention and stopping him in tracks, then said :
" Who said anything about merging the two families together, you seem to have not heard what I said earlier, so I will repeat it for you again one last time, from now on, your Levern Family is in a subordination with our Dorell family, you are our vessel and nothing more .
After I said this, the guy in front of me seemed to be getting even more angrier, not giving his wrath any kind of thought I continued to say :
" As for the responsibilities and rules to manage this relationship, well I had helped you heal for the sake of discussing these matters with you, but first you will need to announce this relationship to everyone in your family, then we will talk .
After saying this, I looked at him and saw that the veins on his face were throbbing, together with how red his pale face was currently, it was clear to me that he was seething with anger, but whether will he act on it or not was exactly what I wanted to see .
This was my first test for that guy and depending on how he will react, I will decide the suitable arrangements to keep him and those under him in check, this will mark how will the relationship between the two families be from now on, whether to give these guy some leeway or whether to completely seal their freedom and enslave all of them .
But it seemed that this guy really wasn't going to let me down, other than his Mana flaring up for a second as an indication of his inability to suppress his frustration any longer, he seemed to actually calmed down quite a lot after he vent some of the pent-up frustration .
He then kept staring at me for quite some time then after seeing that there was no point in continuing to do this he nodded at me and said :
I understand, but I hope that you won't treat us wrongly and also hope that you would be a bit more restrained with your words and orders .
I didn't respond to him, but inwardly I was already praising his ability to keep his emotions in check, after seeing that I hadn't given him any response, he directly called for the other family members to come out from their shelters and homes, hearing his voice, it seemed that most of them misunderstood what had happened .
This was easy to see from how happy they were and how they were smiling at me coldly as if rejoicing their victory and triumph over me, looking at them like this, I was able to see that the mouth of Levan was twitching slightly and the faint smile on his face began to have a slight curves, which made it more like a bit forced .
I felt someone chuckling behind me and without even needing to turn my head, I was able to tell that Tay was enjoying herself looking at this weird current situation .
The Levern Family members began to ask their family head to kill me in revenge of killing their heir and not so few number of elders, but Levan was no longer able to let these cries for revenge sound, so he shut them all up .
Probably worried that I might take an offense in what these guys were saying, so he tried to make amends to me by doing this, I motioned with my hand for him to go ahead and do as he was told, he nodded and in front of the bewildered face of the other family members he said :
From this day onward, the Levern Family will be the apostle of the Dorell family, their sword and shield, before you all get confused or angry about what was going on, I would like to clear everything that happened before up, so that you would find our current situation more a bit more easy to accept .
He once again made me quite impressed with his ability to make up lies and his persuasion ability, he explained to that family member of his that Levn and Jig's deaths were completely reasonable .
Me coming here was also justified as me wanting to hear an explanation from him the head of the family, after he misunderstood my intentions of coming here and seeing me sealed under the effect of that forbidden move, he too wanted to deal with me .
Then he went silent for some time wanting to gather as much of their suspense as possible, then after the whole place was deathly quiet, he finally delivered the final blow to the hearts of everyone present, telling them about how he lost to me and how was he unable to even damage me in the slightest .
Shocking all the people present and in unison they turned their heads to look at me with frightened expression on all of their faces, then without any suspense he mentioned why they were now the subordinates of the Dorell family .
Telling them that after he was defeated, I Callen had given him a chance to choose between a two evils, either the whole family would submit to me or I today would destroy their entire family, determined not to see everyone here perish, he shamelessly chose the lighter evil between the two and chose that they would become a vessel to the Dorell family .
Hearing this, I saw that everyone from the Levern Family was so shocked to the point that for the next 5 minutes, not a single one of them was able to move a muscle or say a single word, they were all standing there completely stoned as if someone used a petrification spell on them .
