The first punch landed on the wrong side.
Trafalgar had already pushed mana toward his left ribs when Dravok changed the angle, stepped inside, and struck him hard on the right. The impact folded Trafalgar slightly and sent him two steps sideways before he managed to plant his feet again.
Dravok lowered his hand. "You committed the instant you thought you had the answer. That's exactly what I told you not to do."
"I saw the shoulder turn."
"You saw what I wanted you to see. There's a difference."
Trafalgar rubbed his side once, then reset his stance. "Again."
Dravok obliged.
The next strike came straight toward the centre of his chest. Trafalgar waited longer this time, watched the hips, let the line develop, and moved the mana only when he thought the target was certain.
Dravok dropped the punch at the last moment.
His knuckles sank into Trafalgar's liver.
