Hearing Junichi's request, Amatrasu was a bit taken aback. While she was still trying to figure out what Junichi was planning, Junichi nodded towards her in confirmation. Reluctantly, Amaterasu lifted her hands and started chanting in an ancient language. A mixture of blue and yellow aura accumulated in her palms. As soon as it took the shape of a sphere, Amaterasu directed it towards Junichi, yelling, "Kaminari Mizu"!
A bolt of lightning wrapped around in a jet of water and struck Junichi in the chest, and he fell to the ground. Despite his groveling and pleading, Amaterasu didn't stop the attack.
Gradually, his clenched fists slowly loosened up, and he could see the light fading from his eyes - but instead of feeling defeated, Junichi just muttered "Thank You" before he died.
Everyone looked surprised and at a loss for words about what went down there. As Amaterasu was going to say something, a bush started rustling, and Junichi came out, looking all clean and fresh as if nothing had happened. Amaterasu almost fell to the ground, seeing this, and was baffled beyond comparison.
Before she could utter anything, Junichi spoke with a firm voice, "Let's begin the trial now, and thank you for the earlier help, goddess."
Realising her duties, despite the sudden, unexplainable events, Amaterasu used her magic to ascend the Holy Knights from the sky as the sheer number of them covered the entire trial ground, surrounding all three of them. While Komorebi and Yuuhi got into fighting positions, Junichi pushed them back with his forearms on their chest, "Stand back and create a protective barrier against yourselves."
Both Yuuhi and Komorebi looked at each other in confusion, but they knew deep down that it was futile to reason with the Dungeon Dueller. Komorebi cast a barrier spell that covered both her and Yuuhi in a protective dome. She then turned to Junichi and spoke in a concerned tone, "I hope you know what you're doing".
Once Junichi noticed that the girls were safe, he smirked and lifted his right arm in the air. His palm started glowing blue as he uttered the words "Mugen no Mizu!" Endless streams of water appeared from thin air and started engulfing the entire battlefield, taking the form of a water tornado. Every single Holy Knight was dragged into it as their bodies started floating with the gushes of water. Water started splashing on Amaterasu as well; she only gasped, "Impossible! What did you do?"
Before the water tornado lost its intensity, Junichi looked up into the heavens. His body radiated a stark golden aura that started to give off intense head waves; heat waves powerful enough to even poke holes and crack Komorebi's barrier. A teardrop rolled from Junichi's eyes as he looked at Amatersu and exclaimed, "I'm sorry, Goddess, but you will become my companion". Before Amaterasu could reply, Junichi screamed, "Ten Kaminari!"
Thick, dark clouds gathered around the tornado as sparks started to fly. Within seconds, thunder engulfed the tornado and the Holy Knights trapped within it. Their bodies started to melt and burn under the intensity of electricity and sharp gushes of water. A streak of lightning touched Amaterasu, leaving her knocked unconscious on the ground. Yuuhi and Komorebi were just witnesses to this madness, watching Junichi destroy a goddess and one hundred heavenly soldiers within mere seconds.
The tornado slowly calmed down, and the clouds began to disappear as there was nothing left of the Holy Knights; just ashes and specs of dust flying around the air. The Phoenix Feather trickled down from the sky and landed on Junichi's palm. Meanwhile, Amaterasu regained consciousness and turned to stone, seeing the battlefield – her once crafted arena and regiment of elite soldiers were gone like they never existed.
Junichi tucked the feather in his pocket and slowly walked towards Amaterasu with a victorious shine in his eyes. As he reached her, he stood towering over her and finally revealed his demands.
"Since I won your little contest, I think it's time to claim my reward. As my reward, I chose you to become my new companion. And guess what?" Junichi knelt to her, their faces inches away from each other: "You don't have a choice in this matter."
