-CHAPTER 17-
-FUSHIGURO MEGUMI POV-
"Now then!" Gojo claps, as all of us turn towards him. "Now that all the introductions are done let's get started with our objective here!" We nod seriously.
Gojo enters his teacher mode as he begins explaining. "You see, a few years ago this place was a newly built rich soda factory. It obviously gave jobs to many people and ran the livelihoods of all of them. But then a tragedy struck. The country's economy entered a state of recession and many people lost their jobs. The owner killed himself here along with his wife and kids and since then this place has gained a reputation as a haunted spot." We nodded in understanding. Unfortunately this was not a particularly unique thing.
"Recently there have been reports of people, teenagers or kids in particular disappearing here in front of others. Two Grade-2 Jujutsu Sorcerers have also gone missing here."
So people have gone missing? There's probably not much chance that they survived then...
"So that is your mission, exorcise the curse, rescue the civilians and retrieve the dead if necessary." Gojo says seriously as he brings his right hand forwards holding a handsign, and begins to chant.
"Emerge from darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure." And an inky circle appears on top of us slowly spreading out and falling above the factory to cover it in a hemispherical dome like shape.
Just before it cut us off from the outside world though, Gojo announced. "Also Yuta?" The boy in question turns to him as the white haired sorcerer continues. "Don't let Rika out. There's no guarantee that she'll calm down like last time. So only use as much of Rika's power that you can through the katana." Then in a carefree manner, the sorcerer puts a hand on his head and smiles relaxedly. "Or else you and I will be disposed of!"
"Wha-!?" Yuta shakes nervously. 'Why put such pressure on me all of a sudden?!' Then the Veil finally falls down and turns the surroundings into night.
"Let's get this show started." I muttered as I walked beside the other first years as we entered the abandoned soda factory, weaving two handsigns and I summoned two Shikigamis. "[Gama]" "[Rabbit Escape]"
The frog Shikigami was summoned undetected as it traveled with me in the shadows. Being a lookout and support in case of surprise attacks.
Even though Gyokuken was perfect for tracking and finding out the Curse, he was unfortunately unavailable to me at the moment because of the Binding Vow used in the creation of his Totality. So I went with the next best thing, and that was sheer numbers. Which as everybody knows was what Rabbit Escape specialized in.
My companions, drawn from the names I had said, suddenly looked towards me, their eyes widening in surprise and shock as hundreds and thousands of white rabbits started escaping from the shadows in front of me.
"Whoa!" Panda's eyes widened as Inumaki and Maki just nod as if they put the pieces together- the technique really wasn't that secretive, most people from other clans knew at least about some Shikigami of all ten. And Maki is from the Zenin clan so she would at least have some idea about this…
"Wha-?" Yuta jumped in surprise as the rabbits scattered throughout the factory, already having understood their purpose without me telling them.
Honestly, I'm beginning to think that I have some kind of telepathic connection with my Shikigami because this isn't the first time they have understood something without me saying it. But the biggest evidence in my theory was the instinct I had felt when fighting the Finger Bearer. Right before Shiro died… I was capable of feeling his emotions and even his warning…
Honestly it didn't sound that impossible, but I hadn't had the time to explore that so I guess I'll have to find some free time soon. Because if I could understand this then I could develop a sixth sense for danger and other things…
Deciding to give my future- hopefully –friends some explanation, I turned towards them and smiled as I began to explain."My Innate Technique is called Ten Shadows and it lets me summon up to 10 different Shikigami with different abilities and control shadows to some extent." There was a lot of different stuff it could also do but… why would I lay all of my cards on the table right off the bat?
"I see." Yuta nods seriously with wide eyes. He can see how useful such a technique could be as the user wouldn't have the need for a team and they could be ready for many situations. A very versatile technique indeed, it was almost like having 10 different techniques.
I confidently smiled and relaxed as if this wasn't my first mission. "You guys don't have to worry much. The rabbit will find the curse soon-" and as if almost on queue a loud explosion rocked the abandoned factory.
Boom!
The loud noise caused us to tense, Yuta brandishing his katana as Maki pointed her spear at where the noise came from, with Inumaki, Panda and Me entering a basic battle stance- all of us looking towards where the loud noise had come from. Quickly realizing what the sound was, I reinforced my legs with CE and sprinted forward leaving behind my companions as I laughed and yelled. "The last one to the curse is a rotten egg! Haha!"
Maki and Panda gained a challenging aura, sprinting behind me. "Don't get so cocky newbie!" "Overconfidence isn't so good for your health, you know Megumi-kun?!"
Inumaki just sighs as he begins jogging behind them.
"Don't leave me behind you guys!?" Yuta breaths heavily as he tries to catch up behind them, his body still being one of his biggest weaknesses.
Of course with the head start I had, I was the first one to arrive at the loud scene being made by my nightmare rabbits and the 10 meters tall yellow colored curse that looked like the mixture of a lizard and gorilla. And just as I saw it I started to make another handsign to summon a Shikigami. "This is at least a first grade curse!"
"That may be tough." Panda commented as Maki nodded seriously.
But I stopped as Yuta's panicking voice cut through to me just as Maki, Panda and Inumaki arrived, the dark- haired boy seeing the curse's size and quickly realizing. "Don't exorcise it! There may be people inside its stomach!"
Hearing that I remembered what Gojo had told us. Yes, we had to find the people too! In my excitement I had forgotten about that!
Unfortunately, I could not bet that there weren't any people because if I remember correctly then in Yuta's first mission there were some kids inside the curse's stomach. So I can't use Orochi to insta-kill the curse, it wouldn't really make a good impression on my classmates after all…
With that I wore a determined expression as I thought, just as Maki, Panda and Inumaki engaged the curse in battle. I directed both Gama and Rabbit Escape to help them as I thought about how to rescue the- if there were any -civilians.
-3RD PERSON POV-
"Panda Punch!" Panda shouts as he reinforces his legs with CE and jumps up, unknowingly taking Gama's help in jumping up as a platform, to punch the panicking cursed spirit in its face. Boom!
To defeat a bigger opponent you always target its heel first! Maki yells internally as she stealthily runs underneath the huge curse, with it being too busy with both Panda and the surprisingly horrifying rabbits to notice her presence and uses her spear to cut its Achilles heel.
Slice!
The curse cries out in pain and anger, falling and kneeling down as its heel is cut and half blind as the rabbits start getting inside its eyeballs. Despite its immense pain it looks down at the girl below him in anger and uses its anger as a fuel to try and punch the girl to death with his humongous hands.
But Maki quickly dodges using her spear to deflect the curse's another blow. "Inumaki!" She shouts as the short boy quickly jumps into the field opening up the zipper collar built into his uniform and activating his CE. "STOP!" The curse instantly freezes in place as soon as it hears the words from the mouth of Inumaki.
"GO YUTA!!" And for a second the frozen salamander-like curse sees the menacing form of Rika Orimoto intangibly float behind and cheer for the spiky black-haired boy in white uniform, angering it to the core.
-Yuta takes that moment to jump in, using his katana as a medium he remember what Gojo had taught him and reinforces it with his CE, quickly dashing in and cutting off the huge curse's other heel as it falls upon him-
But Panda is there, using his superior physical strength to hold up the curse, yelling as it feels too much for him. "Aaagh!"
Yuta in worry yells out. "Panda-kun!" but before he is able to process it, he and Panda are rescued and moved towards Maki and Inumaki by a black tongue exiting out of a shadow at almost instantaneous speeds. Was that another one of Megumi-kun's Shikigami? Yuta asks himself before noticing that Megumi was wearing an almost crazy smile as if he had just realized something before he suddenly dashed straight in front of the downed curse.
-jumping up from the curse's belly as the downed curse roared in anger and-
Megumi jumped into the Curse's mouth?!
"Fushiguro-kun!?" Yuta yells out in shock.
"Megumi!" "Fushiguro!" "Salmon!"
The last they see of Megumi is as he laughs like a manic while being swallowed up by a curse.
"MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

A/N: As promised Megumi gets swallowed! But probably not how many of thought. Other than that we see some action with the other students, and Megumi's first mission!
Oh and today's my birthday too, so that's good I guess. Just turned 21 but feel like I'm 25 already.
