I rushed through the darkened streets of the Boardwalk alone.
The Screamer's noise followed me everywhere.
Its buzzing pulse rolled through the buildings and alleys, sometimes loud enough to make the broken windows tremble. Infected growls came from every direction. Some echoed through side streets. Others sounded so close that I could hear wet breathing and bare feet hitting the pavement behind me.
Every time they sensed me, they reacted.
Heads snapped toward my presence.
Bodies turned.
The moment they felt Dullahan, they came after me.
But I was faster.
As long as there were no Hybrids among them, I could keep moving. Normal Infected were dangerous in groups, especially with the Screamer forcing them into a frenzy, but they could not keep up with me for long.
I held the flashlight in one hand and my axe in the other.
