Chapter 177 - Chapter 57:The End[Bonus]

Themyscira

Golden sunlight bathed the island as gentle sea winds drifted through the open-air temple overlooking the ocean. White marble columns lined the ceremonial grounds, decorated with flowers and banners bearing both Amazonian and Catholic symbols. Rows of seats had been arranged for the guests, and heroes from across the Earth had gathered, dressed in suits and formal attire.

Constantine sat with Zatanna, who was currently scolding him for smelling like beer. Superman sat beside Lois, their hands intertwined, wedding rings glinting as a sign of their union just a year earlier. Batman sat with Selina, who rested a hand on the large bump of her stomach, the young Wayne she now carried. Damian and Raven sat together, holding hands, with Raven frequently glancing at Damian as he stared straight ahead. Behind them were Starfire and Jason, while Blue Beetle and Garfield occupied the next row. Cyborg, Barry, Hal, Billy, and Martian Manhunter filled the seats behind them, with Barry and Hal chatting animatedly about how they had always known Max and Diana would end up together. Billy occasionally chimed in, while the rest of the attendees were Amazons.

At the far end of the aisle, Max appeared. Smiles spread across many faces. Just five months ago, they had all believed they would never see him again. Now he stood before them in a sharp black suit, one that, for some, was a rare sight, and for others, the first time they had ever seen him wear one.

Beside him, Terra walked in a red dress, carrying a velvet box containing his ring.

"Nervous, Dad?" she asked with a grin.

"Maybe a little. But 'tense' is the better word," Max replied.

Terra laughed softly as they reached the altar.

Moments later, the second horn sounded. Everyone turned toward the entrance as Diana appeared. For a brief moment, the entire gathering simply stared. She wore a flowing white dress trimmed with gold, her dark hair cascading freely down her back. Sunlight sparkled off the tiara upon her brow. Hippolyta walked beside her, while Thena followed behind, carrying Diana's ring.

Max felt his breath catch in his throat. He could only stare. Hal elbowed Barry with a chuckle.

"Look, buddy's stopped breathing."

Cyborg promptly elbowed Hal to pay attention.

A small smile appeared on Diana's face as she reached the altar and stood before him. The Queen of the Amazons stepped forward, her voice carrying clearly across the gathering.

"Among Amazons, marriage is much deeper than the union of hearts,it is also the joining of paths." Hippolyta looked at both Max and Diana. "Today, we unite two warriors who have chosen to walk through life together."

The Amazons nodded in agreement. Hippolyta then turned toward Thena and Terra.

"Who stands witness to this union?"

Thena stepped forward first. "I do."

Terra joined her. "I do."

Hippolyta nodded. "Having received the blessing of Themyscira, we now proceed with the Sacrament of Marriage."

Diana looked into Max's eyes and spoke with quiet conviction. "Before my sisters, before my mother, before Olympus itself… I choose you as my husband for as long as my soul endures."

"And I, Max Schiller, offer you my heart, my soul, and every day I have left, until my dying breath and beyond the grave,to be yours now and forever," Max replied.

Diana's cheeks warmed slightly. Thena handed Diana's ring to Max, while Terra handed Max's ring to Diana.

The priest stepped forward. "Do you, Max Schiller, take Diana Prince to be your wife?"

"I do," Max replied.

"And do you, Diana Prince, take Max Schiller to be your husband?"

"I do," Diana replied.

The priest nodded. "By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife." He smiled. "You may kiss the bride."

Everyone leaned forward in anticipation. Instead, Diana stepped forward, wrapped one arm around Max's back and the other beneath his knees, and lifted him effortlessly into a princess carry.

"Diana?" Max blinked, surprised.

"Let's go somewhere else. Hold on," she said.

Max awkwardly wrapped his arms around the back of her neck. Before anyone could react, Diana launched into the sky, carrying her husband with her.

"Well, that's one way to end a wedding," Barry said awkwardly, still clapping.

--------

The night air was quiet. The moon hung above, casting a silver light across the ancient marble ruins of the Parthenon. Diana landed gently on the stone surface, still holding Max in her arms. For a moment, neither of them spoke.

She finally set him down and looked out over the ruins.

"It's a beautiful view, isn't it?" she said, her eyes lingering on the moonlight.

"It is…" Max replied, sitting down beside her, his legs dangling off the edge as a small smile formed on his lips. "Would you believe me if I said I would've brought you here the same way you brought me, if I still had my powers?"

"It depends on the reason," she said, sitting beside him.

"And what would the reason have to be?" Max asked, turning toward her.

"This," she said.

She leaned in. Max did the same.

And under the moonlight, they finally kissed.

---

Two weeks later.

The morning streets of Starlight City were calm as Max drove a parcel delivery truck through the waking city. Life had settled into something simpler now, bills still needed to be paid, and routine had become his new normal.

The radio played softly in the background, an early morning talk show he had grown used to listening to. It filled the silence of the road as he drove from stop to stop.

"Breaking news," the announcer suddenly said. "An armed robbery has taken place at a bank in Starlight City. Police are currently in pursuit of the suspects."

Max exhaled through his nose, glancing at the traffic ahead.

Almost immediately, an armoured truck sped past him, police sirens blaring behind it as multiple vehicles gave chase down the street.

He shook his head slightly, a faint smirk forming.

"Some things never change," he muttered to himself.

Even with a more stable multiverse, with certain chaos-makers no longer in play, it still wouldn't be DC without a little chaos.

'I am Max Schiller, and this is my home now.

Although my days of fighting are over, there's still plenty to do to keep life interesting. After all, the DC universe is a big place where anything can happen.

And who knows… maybe one day I'll get my powers back.

But until then…

I'm just the delivery guy,a bit of an upgrade from being the mail man, still pretty boring tho,but a man has to do what he has to do to pay the bills'.

The end

Author's Note:

To everyone who has read this far, thank you.

This story means a lot to me, and I genuinely appreciate you staying through every battle, loss, and victory. If you've made it to this point without skipping any chapter from the beginning, then you've experienced Max's journey exactly as it was meant to be told.

Not every question has been answered here, and that's intentional. The remaining threads, mysteries, and future developments will be explored in upcoming fanfics set in this same continuity.

There is still more to come.

So for now, this is not truly a goodbye.

I'll see you again in another story where I will reveal who the omnipotent guy who helped Max,and thats because he has his own story that I will be writing in the future, and perhaps you might even see Max again too :)

See ya!
