But just as he was starting to panic in fear of the darkness that was enveloping him in all directions, he felt a bout of dizziness wash over him.
By the time the dizziness disappeared from his mind, he found himself standing on dry, desert sand. Looking around him, all he saw was an endless sea of sand on all sides of him as far as his eyes could see.
Seeing that his location had changed, calmed him down for a couple of minutes. But after those minutes, another bout of fear came over him.
Because he strangely realized that everything within his view was all colored in different shades of grey. The sand below his feet, the clouds in the air, and the bright sun in the sky all were grey colored. The clouds and the sun were lighter shades of grey, while the ground was in a darker shade of grey.
Even his body and clothes lost all the color they previously had, and were now in different shades of grey.
Noticing this caused him dread. Being a kid, all the major changes that had just occurred to him and the fact that his father was likely dead caused him to fall to the ground and break down into tears. While looking between his two grey colored hands, and the light grey sun in the sky as he sat on the ground, he thought that maybe it was him that was going blind, so he panicked even more and cried louder and louder.
His mind couldn't handle the stress of his current environment. He wanted to run away, run away to anywhere hoping he could find someone who could help him figure out the cause of his blindness. He wanted to go back home to his father, like he usually did after spending time in the forest.
He was already missing home, but yet he knew he couldn't go back. He was already missing his dear father, yet he knew he'll never be able to see him again.
His inability to go back home, and the changes in the world around him caused him to weep for a long time, before he grew tired of weeping. After over 20 minutes of tears, he slowly quieted down, on the large, dry and hot desert, before slowly getting up from the ground in order to get himself to move forward.
He thought after he grew quiet that it was best to look for a place to go, before he died of starvation and thirst here in the desert.
