"Separation Enchantment should be able to undo his current state."
Elefseria gave his answer.
As the Law Dragon and a genius who had taught himself Dragon Slayer Magic, he was no stranger to Enchantment Magic.
After all, Dragon Slayer Magic was basically one form of Enchantment Magic: the power of dragons added onto humans.
The person who created Dragon Slayer Magic had also been the founder of Enchantment Magic, a brilliant mage from more than four hundred years ago—one of the greatest talents of her era, Irene Belserion.
These days, Enchantment Magic was one of the more well-known magic systems. It allowed the user to add magic to people or objects, temporarily boosting their abilities.
Mages who specialized in it were called Enchanters.
"Enchantment Magic?"
Marco, Gray, and Mercphobia all looked surprised.
No matter how they looked at it, this strange situation did not seem like something connected to Enchantment Magic.
"You mean Viernes attached himself to Gold Owl?" Mercphobia frowned. "Or to this whole area?"
Even he found that hard to believe.
"That's right," Elefseria said firmly. "I can't think of any other explanation."
As the Law Dragon, he trusted his own judgment when it came to magic.
"Then let's try it."
Marco did not question him further.
Elefseria's knowledge of magic was real, and his talent was no joke. This was the man who had learned Dragon Slayer Magic from a book, completely on his own.
No one else had managed anything like that.
"Who here can use Enchantment Magic?" Gray asked.
He definitely could not.
Enchantment Magic was famous, but there were not actually many people who were good at it.
Since it was mostly support magic, most mages would not choose it as their main path.
"I think Wendy has been practicing it," Marco said after a moment.
Among the people in the guild, Wendy was the only one he remembered studying Enchantment Magic.
It did suit her very well.
"There's no need to call anyone else," Elefseria said. "I can use it."
"Of course you can. Law Dragon, right?" Marco smiled.
If Elefseria could do it, then they did not need to go back and bring Wendy over.
"Dragon Slayer Magic is one application of Enchantment Magic. When I taught myself Dragon Slayer Magic, I naturally learned Enchantment Magic as well."
Elefseria said it as if it were nothing special, but everyone understood the truth.
He could only talk so casually because his talent was absurd.
If it were that simple, every Dragon Slayer would have learned it too.
"Then let's not waste time. Lets begin."
Marco signaled for Elefseria to start.
Whether it worked or not, they needed to test it first.
Right now, against Viernes's strange state, they did not have many other options.
"All right. But I'll need some time," Elefseria said. "Separation Enchantment is not ordinary Enchantment Magic. I need to get used to it first."
That sentence stunned everyone.
"Wait. What do you mean?" Mercphobia stared at him. "You only just learned it?"
"Seriously?" Gray looked just as shocked.
They had thought Elefseria was already skilled in this specific technique.
Apparently, that was not the case.
"I have known Enchantment Magic for a long time," Elefseria explained with a calm smile. "But the idea of Separation Enchantment came to me just now. Don't worry. It shouldn't be too difficult. I only need to reverse the usual process of Enchantment."
Using Enchantment Magic and separating an enchantment were clearly not the exact same thing, but Elefseria did not think the gap was too large.
"How long do you need?" Marco asked.
He accepted Elefseria's explanation.
He did not care about the process or how talented Elefseria was.
He only wanted the result.
How long before they could break Viernes out of that strange state?
"A few hours if it goes well. A day or two at most."
Elefseria thought it over and gave his estimate.
He believed that within a day or two, he should be able to use Separation Enchantment smoothly.
"Faster than I expected."
Marco was a little surprised.
That was not long at all and they could afford to wait.
Otherwise, he really would have gone back to find an Enchanter who specialized in this field.
"I'll begin."
Since everyone had agreed to let him try, Elefseria wasted no time and started working.
His first attempt failed, but that was not surprising. He had already prepared himself for several failures.
With each failed attempt, he adjusted quickly, learning from the result and getting a better grasp of how Separation Enchantment should work.
Buzz.
Magic surged around the Law Dragon again and again as he tried to pull at the magic Viernes had attached to the land.
"Is it actually working?"
Mercphobia watched from the side, surprise creeping into his voice.
They could all see it now.
Golden light was spreading across the land, as if something buried inside it was beginning to surface.
"Elefseria is seriously impressive," Gray said, unable to hide his admiration.
This old man really was amazing, no wonder he had managed to seal a Dragon God by himself.
Of course, in raw strength, Elefseria still could not compare to Marco.
But when it came to magical knowledge and experience, he was terrifying.
Even Master Makarov might not be able to match him.
Marco watched in silence.
He had already switched into the Cancer Gold Cloth, ready to fight at any moment.
The golden light in front of him showed him something the others could not see clearly.
It was Viernes's soul aura.
Elefseria's method really could work.
His Separation Enchantment was pulling Viernes's soul out from wherever it had been attached.
And the moment Viernes showed himself, Marco would hit him with Sekishiki Meikai Ha.
If it did not finish him instantly, it would at least tear a heavy wound into him.
"It's coming!"
After several hours of repeated attempts, Elefseria suddenly shouted.
This time, he could feel it.
He was about to succeed!
