Chapter 138 - Loud Intro

"So when I was transmigrated. Another variable was added into the fusion of Selina Ivory and the Child of God. This resulted in me becoming the heir of the body and the only consciousness..." Selina made a chilling statement to herself.

"So in a way, I killed the Child of God as the original Selina dissipates, due to my transmigration. This makes this phenomenon much more mysterious."

After the remark, she gazed onto the distant.

If the fusion was indeed the cause then her inheritance and the accessibility to this dreamscape was tied to the identity of the Goddess.

Previously the Child of God can only impose murmurs to the believers which have the Aurmir bloodlines. Of course this family tree was hidden from the world and does not pose a threat prior to the Goddess's waning spirit.

This meant that her transmigration have a deeper mystery that left an impact.

Thankfully, Selina wasn't worried at the moment. The past can only echo into the future, she's done hiding as well.

"List of herbs from the Southern continent. Heh, I wonder why a fig is called Pomel when translated to Loenese it's someone who's unfazed to be brazen..."

While committing the contents of the documents to her mind. Selina suddenly began to pick up illusory voices emitting from afar.

When she turned, a vine segment was pulsating with emerald specks swarming around it.

She recognized it corresponding to Isabelle's. The girl forced to become a believer of the Primordial Moon.

The thin but conceivable mist formed as per Selina's will. She saw a woman clad in plain-white dress, almost looks like a pajama.

She watched her turn. Upon seeing her, she revered, "Great Mrs. White! I have come to report."

The divine being engulfed in brilliant light nodded.

"Dylan Hawkthorn stalled his own blessing ritual while other majority who have received powers have now transcended to being called Gardener prior to Antagonists."

Earlier this past week. Isabelle, who had become an undercover for Selina to understand the Primordial Moon believer's operations from within, made a few significant discovery circulating among the members.

The power bestowed them after a gruesome sacrifice of others, was named according to Moon's Shadow Malvir, one of the oracles, as Antagonist or preferably Villain. Corresponding to it later on is the Gardener.

It seems that praying to the Primordial Moon is the only way to advance to Gardener. Is this a pathway? What does it takes to become a Villain and why does it associate with being a Gardener? Do I antagonize a target then settle somewhere afterwards?

After musing. Selina unveiled the winds and let the world echoed, "And Dylan?"

Isabelle nodded and after some thought, she replied, "Dylan is excusing himself whenever the ritual is held. The oracle became infuriated, denying his entry and to make a ritual site himself."

This confirms his moral compass is still humane... The world then posed another question, "Regarding your condition?"

"After finally agreeing to my request. He promised to aid me in escape. In exchange, I have to wait for the right moment, whatever that is, it's better than hopeless..." said Isabelle melancholically.

Isabelle, you've gone better than the first time you prayed to me! Great result! Selina praised inwardly.

"Remain as my eye within the faction and heed Dylan. If he ever asked you of something, always consult me by praying first."

Isabelle inhaled deeply and sigh. She said with a puffed chest, "Yes your grace!"

...

Kothe was next to pray. He wore a trench coat and a half-top hat. His gray streaked black hair peeked and his piercing eyes regain luster of life.

"How's my wife your grace?" He asked with reverence.

"Trust that you'll see her again." Selina let the world replied back.

Kothe took in the fresh breeze and exhaled. Upon lining his thoughts in order, he reported, "I have came across a gathering convened by an Aurora Order oracle by the alias of Mr. E. An artifact there was put into the board called Tree Brand, it likely corresponds to Harvest Priest of the Planter Pathway.

"Since it is the pathway of your authority. I will gladly sacrifice it for your recovery."

Beast Tamer? Selina had a jolt of excite.

Because of her believer's request for charm making along with Klein. Seeing that her grasp within the dreamworld is limited to only communication. She ended up divulging of her weakened state to excuse herself.

But this resulted in her believers now seeking the Goddess's pathway related artifacts for her. Unfortunately, even bestowing herself is an issue.

Selina sighed and regrettably let the world say, "That is alright my child. As of yet, I do not require such items."

Besides, it might ended up awakening the true Child of God after many artifacts is accumulated in this dream. It will render my efforts to nothing...

"Alright." Kothe didn't insist and instead, mentions, "I will continue associating myself with the Temperance faction."

Temperance fation... It would be great to have them as ally... Selina nodded.

"Do not divulge me."

Kothe nodded and said piously, "By your will."

...

The next morning.

Selina's stay in the dreamworld was profited by her members to the maximum. Some prayed themselves to sleep while others briefed her of their plans.

Simply put, she also had a breakdown due to lost of spirituality.

After getting ready, she hefted her luggage with one hand and slowly walked down the stairs.

Now dressed in a floral dress and capelet. Selina turned to the entrance where Klein is again waiting for her in his windbreaker.

"Ready to go?" Klein politely asked, seeing her approached.

Selina paused, then a faint smile tugged at her lips. "…Feels like something that shameless senior would've made a line for."

Klein's expression shifted almost immediately, the corners of his mouth lifting. "Autobots, roll out!"

Selina pressed a finger lightly against her lips, laughter slipping through despite herself. "Hahaha"

Watching this. Klein dazed for a moment then immediately began chuckling.

The shared sentiment lasts and for the remainder, Selina gaze a bit, catching glances of the basement, the arched paths and the short halls with stairway leading up.

"I'm fine now. I will miss this place and the Heath family as my neighbors... Though I can visit them, but still..." she muttered.

Klein donned his top hat and opened the door with a gesture. "…Our unit isn't exactly far. You can visit anytime—assuming you don't get busier than me."

Selina sighed slowly and nodded.

Finally at the porch. She saw Martha, Marl and their two kids waiting for her.

Odelle ran and embraced her while the mother, Martha had a look of sentimentality and grief.

"Ms. Roy, we can still renew your rent you know? My husband have meddled with civil affairs before! Maybe we can..."

Selina gently replied, "I'm sorry but I would rather not trouble you and Mr. Heath... Don't worry, I'll come visit."

It's just that, I only learnt it from Klein that I'm being relocated because of Captain's effort. There must be a reason for it...

Marl caressed the shoulders of Martha, he leaned and said in low voice. "It's alright dear. Her due rent wasn't solely the reason of her eviction..."

"What?" blurted Martha out.

Marl jolted. "I-I'm mean, the company seems to want to house a family rather than one person to increase revenue."

"That is just wrong!" Martha raised her voice. "Marl you have to do something! S-Selina is moving away!"

At that moment. Without her being aware. Selina was already an inch from her.

"...!" She felt a warm embrace followed by a soft voice.

"Thank you... for having me Mrs. Heath."

Martha went silent and returned the intimate gesture, tighter. After nearly a minute, she finally let go and held Selina's hand.

"Visit us. Always!"

Odelle hugged tighter and muffled while burying her face. "Mhm! Always!"

Selina's emotions calmed down and nodded while saying, "I will."

Klein stood and only watched. As a transmigrator. Mrs. Roy is lucky to have met them after being away from Earth...

Then out of nowhere. He bowed slightly, took his top hat off and curtsied. "Mr and Mrs Heath. Thank you for taking care of Selina."

...

9:01, Unit 2 Daffodil Street.

After returning the credentials at the Housing Company. It took them several minutes to finally settle moving out as it involved an agent's personal inspection during it. Her utensils was also stored in the meantime.

From outside the door. Selina could hear two voices muffling at once.

Right then, she turned to Klein and asked her worries, "You're on duty today right?"

Klein nodded. "I will simply introduce you to them. Leonard actually came here before to tell me about a case."

"What's it about?" Selina tilt her head to the side while facing him.

""The number of death incidents within the past two weeks are five times the normal rate.

"Although these death incidents appeared normal during initial investigations, Captain believed me, Leonard and Frye should investigate them once more. It might require the help of divination or ritualistic magic."

"I see... then be careful." Selina sighed and assumed an elegant poise.

Klein examined her for a bit and remarked, "Are you nervous?"

Selina chuckled mildly. "I would be lying if I said I didn't. That's your family behind the door. I wouldn't want to intrude into your life..."

"...I've thought of that." murmured Klein after looking away.

At that moment. The door rustled.

The handle began to shook and moments for Selina became a panic that she failed to notice Klein's voice.

Then it opened.

Right behind the door plane. A girl with dark hair, deep brown eyes and pale face confronted her.

She wore a lace-up bonnet, dark-blue. Her dress of the same color.

"Who..." her voice brittle upon seeing Selina. Then at the corner of her eye, she noticed Klein, smiling wryly.

At that moment. The surrounding terrace houses suddenly heard a shout: "Klein brought home a girl!"

What!? Selina exclaimed, completely baffled.

Klein grabbed his sister's shoulder right then. "SHHH! You're yelling!"

At the hall. A series of steps coupled by the sound of falling chair echoed all the way to the door.

Benson appeared by the frame of a door, peeking his half body out. He was currently eating but he said, "A girl?"

As all of this are happening. Klein felt a tug on his shirt. Suddenly for him, his intuition screams not to turn.

"I thought you've told them already?" Despite her smile. Selina is quite intimidating.

Klein chuckled dryly.

...

"So you're moving in for the mean time?" Melissa seemed to have finally grasped the whole situation. "Brother never mentioned anything!"

"Is that so...?" Selina had her hand pinched Klein's side and heard him stammered in pain.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! I said it twice before!"

"Stop squirming!" said Selina with clear anger. "So when did you mention it to them?"

"At dinner last night!"

Melissa thought for a moment then realized. "But you said a colleague would have to stay here for awhile. Not a girl!"

"See?" Klein was careful not to nudged on her hand, or else the pain will worsen!

"That's vague Mr. Moretti. With your attitude of course they would expect a fellow man." Selina understood the sibling's reasons and finally let go.

That's mean... For his own safety. Klein found keeping his mouth shut as the best move.

Watching this unfold. Benson nodded and apologized, "I'm sorry for our inconveniences earlier. We only want what's best for Klein and that is to find himself a wife who could take care of him."

Melissa also followed. "I'm really sorry."

Selina smiled impeccably and softly replied, "That's alright. For proper introduction, my name is Selina Roy. Klein's colleague."

"Melissa Moretti. I'm a student at Tingen Technical School." Melissa placed a hand to her chest.

Benson smiled, "And I'm their brother. Benson Moretti, pleased to meet you."

Chuckling behind a finger. Selina said her thoughts, "I heard quite a lot about you and Melissa. Mr. Benson, the nominal head that have sustained his siblings to the point where Klein is now a respectable officer.

"Regardless of your background. You are a very respectable gentleman."

Benson was frozen. He exchanged looks with Melissa and in fluster, he adjusted his voice, "I'm glad to have made a good impression on you."

"As for Ms. Melissa. You have a talent of mechanical engineering. Klein talks about how you should be noticed by prestigious schools."

"Prestigious schools..." Melissa muttered soundly.

Finally Selina stood up from the table chair and curtsied once more. "Please allow me to stay here for awhile. I assure you that I won't be a burden."

Benson jolted. "Then... Have Klein already mentioned where you'll be sleeping?"

"Mhm, at the guest room." Selina nodded.

At that moment. Klein stood up and hurriedly excused. "Ahem, Ms. Roy, you'll be fine now? Leonard and Frye should be waiting for me at Iron Cross Street's Lower Street."

Selina half-closed her eyes while looking at Klein before letting out a sigh seconds later. "I'll settle myself in."

Klein briefly explained that he couldn't dine tonight and that today is Selina's day off, afterwards he nodded, hearing Melissa and Benson's farewell, then left.

In the hallway. Selina sized up Benson as they walk. They're a middle-class family. Despite only having three siblings, it's really impressive how far Benson has brought them...

"Here's the guest room." Benson opened a door by the time they arrived upstairs. "Help yourself in. The bathroom is across the hallway, the kitchen is downstairs and the living room is around the corner by the entrance. Melissa have school to attend today and I have to get to the harbor early, so you'll have to prepare lunch for yourself. We're sorry."

"I understand." Selina smiled softly.

Benson nodded briefly before leaving.

Upon closing the door. Selina exhaled. Held on her hand was her suitcase and she opened it ajar.

She took out a brass revolver. Under its handle was a bold V letter, the emblem of the Ivory family.

After looking at it for a period of time. Selina let out a faint breath, returned it to the suitcase and sat on the mattress.

"Disharmonious fate..."
