# The Diagon Revelation
# Episode 6: The Diagon Revelation
The name remained in the air long after the voice had vanished.
Diagon.
Even as Alien X, Ben felt something cold move through him.
Serena and Bellicus fell silent.
That frightened him more than the collapsing Null Void.
Above the battlefield, the black symbol burned like a wound in reality. Its horned shape pulsed once.
The Ultimatrix answered.
"DIAGON AWAKENING."
The device cracked across Ben's wrist.
A shockwave ripped through the dimension.
Gwen and Kevin were thrown backward. The freed villains scattered as the ground split beneath them. The singularity above the battlefield widened, pulling entire chunks of the Null Void into its center.
Then something moved inside it.
A figure stepped through the darkness.
Tall.
Gaunt.
Wrapped in shadows that seemed to swallow the light around them.
Its face was almost human, but not quite. Its eyes burned with a color Ben had never seen before—neither red nor green, but the color of a dying star.
The figure looked directly at Alien X.
"So," it whispered. "The Tennyson child."
Ben raised one hand.
The universe bent around his fingers.
"Who are you?"
The figure smiled.
"I am Diagon."
The name struck the battlefield like thunder.
Zs'Skayr drifted backward.
Khyber's dog snarled, then pressed itself against its master's leg.
Even Malware's corrupted energy flickered.
Ben felt their fear through the cosmic connection.
Diagon continued.
"I have been waiting for you."
"For me?"
"For the one who would open the door."
Ben glanced at the Ultimatrix.
The cracks across its surface had spread. Black light leaked from beneath the green casing.
"You're the thing inside the device."
"No," Diagon said. "I am what the device was built to contain."
Behind him, the singularity twisted.
Malakor's ruined fortress vanished into its center.
Ben reached for the collapsing dimension, trying to halt its destruction.
Diagon lifted one finger.
The Null Void resisted Ben.
The force struck Alien X like an invisible wall.
Ben's feet slid across the air.
"You're controlling the singularity," he said.
"I am not controlling it."
Diagon's eyes brightened.
"I am allowing it to remember what it was made to do."
The Null Void folded inward.
Gwen shouted something, but her voice vanished beneath the roar of collapsing space.
Ben spread both arms.
The singularity stopped expanding.
For one second, it held.
Then Diagon turned his hand.
The gravitational force reversed.
Alien X was hurled through the battlefield and into a mountain of broken stone. The impact sent a tremor through the entire dimension.
Ben rose from the wreckage.
The cosmic stars beneath his skin flickered.
"He's stronger than us," Serena said.
"Not stronger," Bellicus replied. "More deeply connected."
Ben looked at Diagon.
The being stood at the center of the destruction, untouched.
"What do you want?"
Diagon's smile disappeared.
"Everything that was taken from me."
The darkness around him expanded, filling Ben's mind with fractured images.
A world of silver oceans beneath a black sky.
Cities made of living light.
A civilization that had learned to travel between dimensions.
Then fear.
The people turning against something they had created.
Chains of energy.
A prison built outside time.
Diagon screaming as the doors closed.
Ben saw centuries pass in an instant.
He saw Diagon alone in a place where even time could not reach.
No light.
No voice.
No possibility of escape.
The images ended with Malakor standing before the prison.
Offering a hand.
Promising freedom.
Ben returned to the battlefield.
Diagon watched him carefully.
"Now you understand."
"You were imprisoned."
"I was betrayed."
"You destroyed worlds."
"I corrected the mistake of creation."
"You killed people."
"They were the ones who left me there."
Ben felt Diagon's rage moving through the Null Void like poison.
For one moment, he saw the truth beneath it.
Diagon had not begun as destruction.
He had begun as a weapon.
A guardian.
A force created to protect a dying universe.
When his creators feared what he could become, they abandoned him.
Pain had become hatred.
Hatred had become purpose.
Purpose had become annihilation.
Ben lowered his hand.
"You were hurt."
Diagon's eyes narrowed.
"Do not pity me."
"I don't."
"Then why are you still speaking?"
"Because I know what it's like to be afraid of what you might become."
The words made Diagon pause.
Ben thought of the Ultimatrix.
The transformations.
The power.
The fear that one day he would use too much of it and become someone nobody could stop.
"I've made mistakes," Ben said. "I've hurt people. I've been angry enough to want revenge. But that doesn't mean I have to become the worst thing I've ever felt."
Diagon stared at him.
The singularity trembled.
Then Diagon laughed.
It was a dry, broken sound.
"You believe compassion can repair everything."
"No," Ben said. "But I believe it gives you a choice."
Diagon raised his hand.
The Null Void exploded.
A wave of black energy slammed into Alien X. Ben created a shield, but the impact drove him backward. The shield cracked. Cosmic light spilled through the fractures.
"Compassion is a chain," Diagon said. "I have already broken mine."
He closed his fist.
The shield shattered.
Ben was thrown across the dimension.
Gwen ran toward him, but Kevin caught her arm.
"Don't get close!"
"I'm not leaving him!"
Diagon turned toward them.
Ben saw the darkness gathering in his hand.
"No."
Alien X appeared between Diagon and his friends.
The blast struck Ben directly.
For a moment, his entire body became a silhouette of white fire.
Then the energy tore through him and continued into the distance.
Ben dropped to one knee.
Serena and Bellicus shouted inside his mind.
"You cannot continue!"
"The form is destabilizing!"
Ben forced himself upright.
"Then help me stabilize it."
"We require a unanimous decision."
"You already agreed to let me control the form."
"That does not mean we agreed to be destroyed."
Ben looked at Diagon.
The figure had begun walking toward Gwen and Kevin.
"You want to know what makes compassion stronger than hate?" Ben said.
Serena and Bellicus went quiet.
"It gives people someone to fight for."
Ben reached through the cosmic connection.
Not toward Diagon's power.
Toward his pain.
He opened his mind completely.
Diagon saw everything.
Ben's fear of losing his family.
The guilt he carried after every failure.
The pressure of being the person everyone expected to save the day.
The lonely moments when he wondered whether anyone cared about Ben Tennyson—or only the hero.
Diagon staggered.
Ben stepped closer.
"You're not the only one who's been alone."
The darkness around Diagon faltered.
"You know nothing of my solitude."
"I know you wanted someone to come back for you."
Diagon's eyes widened.
Ben showed him the memory of a child waiting beneath the stars for his grandfather to return.
The fear that he had been abandoned.
The relief when the Rustbucket finally appeared.
The promise that no matter how terrifying the universe became, Ben would not face it alone.
"You wanted someone to tell you that you mattered," Ben said.
Diagon's expression twisted.
"Silence!"
The Null Void surged again.
But this time, the energy around him did not obey completely.
Fragments of darkness broke away from his body.
Beneath the shadows, his form began to change.
The monstrous silhouette became thinner.
Less ancient.
Almost human.
Diagon reached for Ben.
Not to attack.
To understand.
Then a blast struck him from behind.
Malakor rose from the rubble.
His body was broken, one arm hanging uselessly at his side, but his eyes burned with renewed hatred.
"You fool!" Malakor screamed. "You were supposed to destroy this universe!"
Diagon turned slowly.
Malakor raised his remaining hand.
"You were my weapon!"
The blast tore across the battlefield.
Ben reacted instantly.
A shield formed around Diagon.
The attack struck it and exploded into a storm of black fire.
Malakor snarled.
"You would protect him?"
"He is not yours," Ben said.
Malakor's face twisted.
"Neither are you."
He unleashed another blast.
Then another.
The Null Void shook under the assault.
Ben held the shields in place, but each impact drained more of Alien X's power. The stars beneath his skin dimmed.
Diagon stood behind him, stunned.
"You defend me," he said.
"I'm giving you the choice you never had."
"Why?"
"Because Malakor wants you to believe you're nothing but a weapon."
Ben looked over his shoulder.
"Prove him wrong."
Diagon stared at Malakor.
The ancient hatred between them filled the space.
Malakor had found Diagon in his prison.
Malakor had promised freedom.
Malakor had fed his anger until it became obedience.
"You used my pain," Diagon said.
Malakor smiled.
"Your pain made you useful."
The last word broke something inside Diagon.
The darkness around him collapsed inward.
A burst of white light erupted from his body.
Diagon extended both hands.
Ben felt his power connect with Alien X's.
Not control.
Not domination.
Alliance.
Together, they turned toward Malakor.
Malakor's smile vanished.
"No."
Alien X and Diagon released their power.
The wave that followed was not an explosion.
It was a dawn.
White light swept across the Null Void, stripping away every layer of corruption Malakor had gathered. The black energy poured out of him in screaming ribbons.
Malakor tried to resist.
He dug his fingers into the ground.
"I am the master of this dimension!"
Diagon's voice answered him.
"No. You were only the loudest prisoner."
The light consumed Malakor.
His body twisted, cracked, and began to dissolve.
For one instant, something beneath the hatred looked back at Ben.
Not evil.
Not even angry.
Just empty.
Then Malakor vanished.
The Null Void fell silent.
The singularity contracted.
The broken sky sealed itself.
Ben and Diagon remained suspended above the battlefield, surrounded by fading light.
Gwen looked up at them.
"Is it over?"
Ben wanted to say yes.
Then he felt it.
A tiny pulse of darkness moving away from the battlefield.
Something had escaped.
A spark shot through the dimensional barrier and vanished into the unknown.
Ben turned toward it.
"Malakor."
Kevin looked at the fading trail.
"You destroyed him."
"Most of him."
Diagon's expression darkened.
"His influence survives."
Ben felt the spark changing as it traveled.
It was heading toward Earth.
Toward Bellwood.
Toward everyone he loved.
"We have to follow it."
Gwen stepped closer.
"Can you open a portal?"
Ben looked at the Ultimatrix.
The black cracks had stopped spreading, but they had not disappeared.
"I can try."
Diagon raised his hand.
A portal opened in front of them.
Beyond it, Ben saw Earth.
Bellwood at night.
Streetlights.
Buildings.
Ordinary people walking beneath an ordinary sky.
Then every light in the city went out.
A symbol appeared above the skyline.
The horned crown.
The same mark Diagon had carried.
The same mark that had appeared on the Ultimatrix.
Diagon stared through the portal.
"That is not Malakor."
Ben felt Serena and Bellicus stir inside him.
"What is it?" Gwen asked.
Diagon answered in a voice barely above a whisper.
"A signal."
The symbol pulsed.
Something on Earth answered.
The Ultimatrix unlocked itself.
A voice emerged from its damaged core.
"Secondary host identified."
Ben looked down at his wrist.
The screen displayed a single name.
**KEVIN LEVIN.**
Kevin's eyes widened.
Then black energy erupted from his body.
And somewhere beneath Bellwood, something ancient opened its eyes.
