I climbed into bed, pulling the sheet I had taken from Jeremy over myself before turning onto my side, my back to the door.
A moment later, I heard Fenris's footsteps. They came closer, then the mattress dipped as he got in.
I felt him settle behind me, lying on his side, the faint rustle of fabric telling me he was covering himself with the sheet I had shoved toward his side earlier.
"You really didn't want to sleep here, did you?" he muttered, his voice quiet and unreadable.
I frowned slightly, frustration tightening in my chest even more.
I couldn't believe that was what he thought. I didn't answer.
For a moment, neither of us spoke. Then suddenly, the sheet covering me was pulled away.
The moment he pulled the sheet off me, my body tensed in surprise, but before I could react, he covered me with his own, the warmth settling over me in a way that felt different- intimate.
