Chapter 11 - Another Meeting

---

Another meeting. This time at the Governor's mansion.

"You went ahead and did something unnecessary."

Malcolm is pissed off.

"As the people's choice of leader, it is imperative you incessantly mind Kenya's delicate political state, especially so close to independence."

"However, your recent actions fall short of this prerequisite."

"And what is this settler's bill?"

Mzee is being scolded!

Few dare lecture Mzee, but Malcolm is the exception. He was responsible for his release from prison, and eventual inauguration.

Also, the office of Governor General remains the highest in the land.

Mzee had never been a favorite with early colonial administrators. A former Governor even portended his rule as a descent into 'darkness and death'.

Regrettably, this proved true during his later years.

---

Mzee's heart thumps loudly, but no word leaves his mouth. The silent threat looms heavily over him.

In front of his master, the African strongman ceases to exist.

---

The future abounds with rumors of Mzee enjoying a cozy 'detention' in a Samburu mansion, while a brutal war was waged outside against the MauMau!

It was then he was groomed for leadership? His elevated breathing, and uncharacteristic silence give him away.

Malcolm waits for an answer, or he would never put ink on paper.

The buck stops with me, again.

---

"Your Excellency, thank you for taking the time to understand us on this matter."

"By 'us', you also refer to your new deputy, right?"

"Yes sir!"

It is good he and by extension, Her Majesty's government already acknowledge Oginga's appointment.
