Chapter 385 - [TP] 384: Heretic God Poseidon, Heretic God Hades

"But isn't the amount of ultimate power from this a little too much?"

Damien felt how much ultimate power the Authority would bring him once he returned to the Central Continent.

Violet's answer genuinely shocked him.

Just this single Authority was enough to rival two Seven Deadly Sins-level Ultimate Skills.

To put it in perspective, it was roughly half as strong as Velzard's King of Ice Dragons.

That wasn't merely impressive—it was terrifying.

"One Heretic God like Zeus can give us this much ultimate power?"

Damien didn't think Zeus's earlier performance had been anywhere near the level of the King of Ice Dragons.

If they were comparing, it would probably take something like the primordial Chaos from the Campione worldview to provide such an enormous amount of ultimate power.

It might sound unkind, but a mere Zeus really didn't deserve such a massive harvest.

"It wasn't only Zeus."

Violet explained, "Through the Ring of Usurpation I didn't just steal Zeus's power. I also copied the Authorities of the entire Greek divine domain."

The "theft" here wasn't literal robbery.

Violet only needed samples of the laws.

So her version of theft was more like making a perfect copy of the Authorities from the Greek pantheon.

Then quantity became quality.

She had forcibly forged an Authority for Damien that could advance all the way to god-level Ultimate.

"It can do that?"

Damien asked, "If I summon another Greek god, can you plunder it again?"

"No."

Unfortunately, Violet had already obtained the core origin of Greek myth.

She had lost interest in Greek gods.

Of course, if the god who descended only wore a Greek-myth skin but also carried identities from other pantheons, Violet could still trace the source and plunder ultimate power from an entirely different mythological system.

"Master?"

Diablo didn't interrupt Damien's reflection. He waited a moment before asking, "Shall we continue the Heretic God summoning ritual?"

"Go ahead."

Damien calculated the distance between Tony Doni, Marquis Voban, and Athens.

After leaving enough time to retreat, they should still be able to summon two more Heretic Gods.

"Understood!"

Diablo once again took control of the ordinary people of Athens and began calling down a new Heretic God.

This time it was Zeus's brother, the sea god Poseidon.

While his status was slightly below Zeus's, it wasn't far off.

In terms of combat ability Poseidon's power was not much weaker than Zeus's.

He controlled the seas and was also the god of earthquakes and storms.

"Lord Damien?"

Testarossa had returned to human form. She stood beside Damien and asked, "Will you slay him and take the new Authority?"

"The Greek pantheon's Authorities don't mean much to me."

Damien had no interest in Poseidon's Authorities. He already had his own plans for this area.

Greece, Egypt, ancient Babylon, Celtic, Norse, Hebrew, Japan, the Crimson Divine Land…

He didn't care about the Authorities themselves.

What he wanted was to use the feat of god-slaying to obtain the keys that opened different pantheons, then let Violet plunder the ultimate power from those mythological systems.

Besides, a Campione's strength had nothing to do with the number of Authorities.

In the field of Authorities, Campiones developed along two main paths: deep specialization or quantity turning into quality.

The representatives of those paths were Luo Hao of China and Marquis Voban.

A Campione's magical energy did not multiply simply because they gained more Authorities.

The number of Authorities only gave them more options.

Theoretically, even if a Campione had only one Authority, they could keep digging deeper and derive all kinds of abilities from it.

Not to mention that Damien's Authority "In the Name of the Father" was all-encompassing and essentially omnipotent.

In other words, even if he took the Authorities of the sea, earthquakes, or storms, they would be of little use to him.

Because "In the Name of the Father" already contained all of those abilities—and without the limitation of indirect use weakening the effect.

"Poseidon's Authority will go to you, Little Black."

"Then for the next one, Little White, you take the stage."

Obtaining a new Authority as a Campione was not easy.

If the battle was not fair and just, even if a Campione ambushed or stole the kill from a Heretic God, they still could not gain the Authority.

Damien had previously exploited a loophole in the Ring of Usurpation through Violet's permission.

But some things could be done once or twice, not three times.

Damien had already completed the transformation from human to earthly Demon Lord.

Even for him, obtaining new Authorities from now on would require defeating a Heretic God fairly and with his own power.

Hinata, however, still had the chance to borrow Luminas's power and become a Campione.

As for Diablo and Testarossa…

If they wanted to usurp power, they would have to defeat a Heretic God in single combat.

"The opponent doesn't seem as strong as Zeus."

Diablo's fight with Poseidon ended quickly.

Poseidon was weaker than Zeus. On top of that, Diablo had already figured out the exact nature of Heretic Gods, so he opened with his strongest move right away.

With one explosive burst he crippled Poseidon.

Then…

Diablo's hellfire-forged longsword and the morning-star light he had stolen from Lucifer pierced the sea god's chest together.

Thus the lord of the oceans in Greek myth was forcibly returned to legend.

But there was no time to mourn Poseidon's death. The next Heretic God to descend was the eldest of the three brothers—the underworld king Hades.

"The king of the underworld?"

Testarossa was one of the three Primordials whose strength rivaled Diablo's.

And Lilith also possessed the Authority of death.

"I feel I can usurp an Authority that suits me perfectly from him."

Testarossa did not take her Satan form for the fight against Hades. Instead she appeared as the blood goddess Lilith, wielding a massive scythe as she clashed with the god.

However, Hades's strength exceeded both Damien and Diablo's expectations.

Hades was stronger than Poseidon.

He was only a hair weaker than Zeus.
