The room was tense, and Greyson had his arms wrapped tightly around Indianna. She was shaking like a leaf and was pretty certain she would fall to the floor if Greyson let go of her.
"Dispose of it," Greyson said sternly, looking at Kal, Ace and Oscar. "Kal, you stay."
Greyson hoped that one of Kal's stupid comments might lighten Indianna's mood.
Kal passed the box to Ace and wiped his hands on his trousers.
"Oscar, try to get a scent," Greyson ordered.
Oscar and Ace disappeared.
Greyson then turned his attention to Indianna and cupped her face, trying to make her focus on him.
"Indie," he said softly.
Indianna's eyes were blank, and she was staring at Greyson's chest.
"Sugar," he said a little more sternly and tilted her head back. "Look at me. And don't even think about kneeing me between the legs again."
Indianna blinked slowly.
"After everything you've done, you probably deserved it," she said, her voice void of emotion.
Greyson couldn't help but chuckle.
"True."
He softly stroked Indianna's cheek and kissed her forehead.
"Sit down, sugar."
When Indianna made no effort to move, Greyson gently guided her over to the armchair and helped her sit down.
He crouched in front of her and took her hands in his. Indianna immediately noticed that Greyson's hand had accidentally touched the scar on her wrist. She pulled her hands to her chest, her eyes filling with fresh tears.
"He's evil," she whispered. "And he seems to be able to get to us anywhere. Get to me."
"It's all mental," Greyson said. "He's messing with your head because it's the only way he can get to you. He wouldn't dare show his face. He's too outnumbered, and that's good. He will never physically get to you, Indie."
Indianna closed her eyes and pulled her knees up to her chest.
"I want him dead."
Greyson felt slightly uncomfortable hearing Indianna say something like that. She was so serious, and it made him angry.
Indianna wasn't a cruel person. She didn't go around wanting people to die, but Rogue was making her think this way. It infuriated Greyson even more.
"I want him to suffer," Indianna whispered. "I want him to feel pain."
Greyson frowned when Indianna's tone became darker. He couldn't believe she was thinking this way.
He didn't have a problem with Rogue suffering, but he did have a problem with Indianna wanting to do something so out of character.
"Indie, think about this. You're angry, and you aren't thinking straight," he said.
Indianna swallowed.
"We need to end this."
"I know, but I don't want you to lose yourself, sugar."
"Do you want him to roam free?" Indianna snapped.
Greyson stiffened.
"Of course I fucking don't."
"You think it's a good idea," Indianna insisted, pushing her way into Greyson's mind.
"It's an idea I would have suggested, and you would have said no to it if you weren't so angry," Greyson said. "This is cruel, sugar, and you're not."
Indianna rubbed her wrist and looked at Greyson with a dark glint in her eyes.
"I don't care."
"What's going on, boss?" Kal called.
Greyson turned towards Kal with a grave expression.
"Indianna wants to use Stacy to get to Rogue."
"When did you turn into an ass-kicking machine?" Kal asked, grinning teasingly as he sat beside Indianna later that day.
"When Rogue decided to send the heart of my dead friend to me," Indianna said coldly, ignoring Kal's teasing tone. "He tied it in a bow. That's sick. He needs to be stopped."
"You're friends with Stacy," Kal said softly. "Are you sure you want to use her as bait?"
"Rogue needs to be stopped," Indianna said. "By any means possible."
"Okay, I'm putting a ban on discussing Rogue!" Greyson said sternly as he walked into the lounge after a long meeting with the head of Janson's security team about searching the area for Rogue.
"We can figure out what we're going to do when we get home. It's your birthday, and we're going to have some fun."
Indianna sent Greyson a wary look.
"I don't think—"
"Hush," Greyson said and grabbed Indianna's arms, pulling her up from the couch. "We're going to get changed."
"Why?"
"We're going swimming."
"I hope this is a group thing," Kal wondered.
Greyson nodded.
"Janson is going to take everyone to the falls once we've all changed."
"That place is fucking awesome!" Kal cheered.
He was out of the room before Indianna could ask what the falls were.
"A waterfall," Greyson told Indianna as he linked his hand with hers. "We all need to relax a little."
"Is it safe?" Indianna asked.
"It's inside the territory. It's safe," Greyson assured her. "Come on, I'll show you to our room."
Greyson led Indianna through Janson's pack house and showed her to the room they would be using during their stay.
It was simple, with dark wooden floors, a large double bed and a wardrobe pushed against the wall.
Indianna spotted their bags on the floor. Greyson walked over to his and pulled out a pair of swimming shorts.
"I really don't know if I'm in the mood for swimming," Indianna said softly and sat down on the bed.
"Hey," Greyson said as he sat beside her. "Nothing good is going to come from moping and doing nothing. You need something to distract you. And if seeing me in my swimming shorts isn't enough, I'm sure I can think of something else to take your mind off things."
Indianna couldn't help but laugh and looked up at Greyson.
"You're an idiot."
Greyson smirked and kissed Indianna.
"Get changed," he murmured.
He lifted his shirt over his head, and Indianna sighed as she stood up and walked over to her bag, taking out her bikini.
She started to change, but her eyes wandered towards Greyson as he changed into his swimming trunks.
"Enjoying the view?" he called.
Indianna smirked.
"It's okay," she shrugged. "It's getting better."
Greyson chuckled and laid back on the bed. He linked his arms behind his head and smirked at Indianna.
"Your turn. Take your time, sugar."
Indianna rolled her eyes and turned her back to Greyson as she changed.
"Not fair!" he called.
"Life's not fair," Indianna retorted.
She deliberately took her time, making Greyson laugh.
"I'd get used to that position," Greyson said. "You'll be seeing it a lot tonight."
Indianna quickly turned to look at Greyson, her cheeks red.
"You dirty pig!" she gasped.
She hurriedly finished changing and slipped her feet into a pair of flip-flops.
Greyson smirked smugly.
"I see you've brought Brooklyn's present," he said as Indianna grabbed one of his shirts and pulled it on.
Indianna glanced at the pink bag and nodded.
"I think it's a wonderful present."
"You looked at it!" Indianna gasped.
"She made me curious," he shrugged. "I think I'm going to enjoy it more than you."
Indianna looked at the bag cautiously.
"I think I'll open it later," she murmured.
She walked over to the bed. Greyson chuckled and sat up.
Indianna sat opposite him and grabbed his hands. She wanted to feel the sparks that put her at ease and made her feel safe.
"Everything's going to be okay, isn't it?"
Greyson stared at Indianna for a few moments before pulling her into a hug and resting his chin on her head.
"Yes," he whispered.
Indianna wrapped her arms around Greyson's chest and closed her eyes, enjoying the quiet moment.
"I love you," she whispered.
Greyson smiled and kissed Indianna's forehead.
"I love you," he murmured.
A smirk found its way onto his face.
"Now let's go for a swim."
