Chapter 249 - Hey, Hey… One Hundred and Ten?

Parseltongue is a natural talent, but that doesn't mean others can't imitate it.

Especially when the phrase you need is just one simple sentence to "open" something.

So, this extracurricular language lesson took only a few minutes to complete.

After all, in terms of purpose, Allen was never about negotiation, he was about breaking things. Learning a simple "What are you looking at?" and "What are you gonna do about it?" was enough to get the ball rolling, without wasting time on unnecessary dialogue.

Once all that was done, Allen and the others checked the surrounding area via the Marauder's Map and, seeing no one around, quietly exited the classroom one by one.

Everything seemed normal, like after any regular tutoring session, but today, a new side quest had begun.

Normally, the four of them would head to their respective dorms, have some nighttime chatting, and then go to sleep.

But Allen didn't descend to the Hufflepuff common room in the basement. Instead, he slipped into the shadows at a second-floor corner, careful to check that no portraits were nearby.

Next came a very, very risky move.

If caught, Professor Sprout would have been heartbroken but ruthless, after all, this would be a grave insult to Hufflepuff's thousand-year-old traditions.

Anywhere else, Allen's next action would be unforgivable, it was just too gentlemanly.

Yes. His destination was crystal clear:

The legendary girls' bathroom!!!

Although Allen didn't understand why Slytherin's ancestors decided to hide their most precious secret beneath a girls' restroom, and didn't know how Voldemort felt when he discovered it, one thing was undeniable: Allen felt extremely awkward at that moment.

Although the place was a restroom, it was the least frequented in the school. Broken toilets aside, Moaning Myrtle haunted the room, so he saw nothing, and yet still risked the "pervert" label (strike that).

Never mind the pervert thing, today, Allen had to infiltrate the girls' bathroom, shame and all.

Voldemort's diary itself had no real power. The terror came from the basilisk in the Chamber.

So today, Allen's mission was to pull out the source.

Today's work must be done today. Even though it was only the first day of school, Allen, now thinking of Parseltongue, might as well deal with the basilisk too, hoping Voldemort didn't have a heart attack when the blow hit.

Waiting until Halloween to catch the basilisk in action?

What a joke. He had no idea how the story had changed with his own interference. It was safer to remove the biggest problem first, today rather than tomorrow. Otherwise, what if Voldemort teamed up with Bellatrix to spawn a litter of little Dark Lords?

Moaning Myrtle was a 15-year-old girl frozen in time.

So, gentlemen, enjoy! Fifteen, legal, real loli, with a penchant for peeking at boys bathing, good luck!

Thanks to Myrtle's permanent presence, the second-floor girls' bathrooms were completely abandoned.

This worked in Allen's favor. Stealth doesn't make you invisible, if discovered, it wouldn't just be awkward; it would break school rules. Who knows what those girls might do in such a situation?

Another stroke of luck: Allen quickly found the faucet engraved with a small serpent, unnoticed by Myrtle, truly Merlin's blessing.

"Open."

With Harry's Parseltongue command, the Chamber of Secrets, sealed for fifty years, reopened. The serpent-engraved faucet spun violently, emitting a dazzling light. The nearby pool disappeared, revealing a massive pipe, wide enough for several people.

Alright, time for some Mario-style exploration, Allen muttered as he stepped into the pipe.

This was an extremely convoluted passage, connecting secret areas throughout Hogwarts that no one had ever discovered, just pipes.

Allen thought to himself: when I have time to be an illegal Animagus, I must explore these tunnels. They weren't even on the Marauder's Map.

But for now, considerations like that were secondary. He slid forward, planting markers every meter, to mark the path and make the return easier, since he'd entered by a shortcut.

After gliding down a gentle slope, Allen emerged from a long, flat pipe. Undoubtedly, this was the Chamber of Secrets.

The room was paved with deep black stone, not obsidian, but high-quality materials. Hogwarts' castle had been funded by the Slytherin family, no way would they use cheap stones for their secret Chamber.

The room radiated Slytherin style: big, big, and still big. Slytherins didn't care about cost.

Allen had trouble finding the entrance in the first place; the second wall, Slytherin's ultimate defense, was a challenge, though he didn't know why the same password was used again.

When the stone wall, engraved with a giant serpent, opened, Allen finally saw the Chamber in its entirety.

A long, dimly lit hall stretched before him. Stone pillars carved with entwined serpents rose high, supporting a ceiling lost in darkness. The room was bathed in a mysterious green glow, casting long, eerie shadows.

At the far end, beyond the last pair of pillars, stood a statue as tall as the room itself, pressed against the black wall.

No doubt, that was Salazar Slytherin himself. Who else could be so narcissistic?

Now, it was time for the final reveal.
