(The following days passed slowly at first...)
But little by little... everything began to change.
One morning, Ahmed woke up to the sound of the doorbell. He opened the door with a touch of fatigue, only to be surprised by a large box placed in front of the apartment. He looked around, puzzled. There was no one there.
He knelt down and opened the box cautiously... to find warm blankets, canned food, and a small, handwritten note inside:
"To Honoka and Yoshika… You are not alone anymore."
Ahmed's eyes rested on the note for seconds. Then, he smiled calmly. As the hours passed... the doorbell wouldn't stop ringing. Letters. Packages. Simple gifts. And sometimes... just words.
There were letters from mothers saying they had cried after watching the interview. Letters from students who confessed they had been bullied, too. Even some teachers and child protection organizations sent offers of help and psychological support for Honoka and Yoshika.
The Transformation
One day... Honoka sat on the floor amidst dozens of letters. She was reading in silence. And every time she finished a letter... her eyes filled with more tears. But they weren't tears of collapse. They were the tears of someone who had begun to feel that the world had not hated her completely.
As for Yoshika... she was living her happiest days. She ran around the apartment, carrying the small dolls she had received. Then she stopped suddenly in front of Ahmed and held up a drawing. It was a simple picture of a small family holding hands. At the bottom, it was written:
"You are brave."
Ahmed smiled in silence, while Misaki looked at him for a long moment. The apartment had truly changed. Just days ago... it was a place filled with fear and silence. But now... it had become filled with voices. With laughter. And with hope.
In the evening... the four gathered around the small table. The cups of tea emitted a gentle warmth into the room. Misaki said, looking at the pile of letters:
Misaki:
"I didn't expect that many people would care..."
Honoka replied in a quiet voice:
"Neither did I..."
Then she looked at Ahmed.
"But... perhaps it's because you didn't abandon us."
A short silence followed. A warm silence. Ahmed lowered his gaze with a slight shyness, then smiled.
The Shadows Stir
But... amidst this temporary peace... something else was moving in the shadows. Something no one expected.
One night... while the apartment was submerged in quiet... Ahmed sat alone in front of his computer, contemplating everything that had happened since that night on the school rooftop. He sighed slowly.
Then, suddenly... a strange notification appeared on the screen.
An encrypted message.
