He smiled.
"And me… I believe I'd probably be around B-rank if I ever decided to become one."
He looked at Raito.
"But long ago, one of our ancestors was said to have reached S-rank."
He sighed.
"Our family's awakening has always been unusual. Sometimes our abilities manifest much later than normal."
He smiled again.
"Your case was the same."
"Isn't that right?"
Raito nodded.
"Then you're right."
"You've both heard everything."
"But don't worry."
"I'm strong enough to protect myself."
His father nodded quietly.
Aiko smiled.
"Enough about being strong."
She picked up a large chicken drumstick and placed it on top of Raito's bowl of rice.
"Just eat."
Raito smiled faintly.
He nodded and immediately began eating.
I haven't had a proper meal in days…
He continued eating, finally allowing himself a brief moment of peace.
