Hearing Ethan Grant praise her, Serena Sullivan didn't feel particularly happy. Instead, she felt a bit uneasy, watching Ethan touch her legs. She remembered he had gone to see the doctor and suddenly had a bad premonition.
"Ethan, did Dr. Mo say anything?"
Dr. Mo came over in the morning and sat in her hospital room for a while. He didn't say anything substantial and then left. Serena wondered if he was waiting for someone who could make decisions for her?
The Sterlings came in waves, and then they left.

"Mm!"
Ethan nodded, "Serena, you're smart. I can't hide anything from you."
"What did he say?" Serena's heart rose to her throat, her entire body tensed, and she suddenly got nervous. Ethan reached out, held her hand, and felt the warmth in her palm rapidly cooling.
"He said that your legs don't look too optimistic."
"You'll need another surgery!"
