"Old alpha Kane and his luna."
Arya stood there stunned, unable to move. Why were they here? Was alfa alright? Alfa! Why was she concerned about his well-being?
"Miss?" Donna's voice pulled her back into the present.
"Yeah. I'm coming!" She said and followed Donna to the pack house.
"Where's Rodriguez?" She asked, looking around. Everyone seemed scared, as Kane had attacked this pack before. All the pup's were in their mothers' arms, and the guards were ready in case it got down to a war.
"At the gate!" Came a reply.
Arya took off running towards the gate. Millions of thoughts ran in her head, and she didn't want Rodriguez to get into any kind of trouble because of her.
Although their sibling bond isn't that strong, she knew that he would protect her at all cost.
She could hear voices at the gate, arguing. She heard Genevieve pleading, and Kane threatened, while Rodriguez remained calm, only telling them to get going.
"Aria, thank God," Genevieve said, spotting her first.
Everyone went silent for a while as Arya reached the gate. Both Kane and Genevieve were pleading with her through their eyes, and Rodriguez simply moved aside, giving her room to stand. The two guards at the gate had also moved aside.
"What's going on?" Arya asked, looking at the couple as if this was the first time she had seen them. "What's going on?" Arya asked again as she came to a stop.
"Aria, I beg you, please come home!" Genevieve begged. "Alfa is suffering, and only you can calm him down."
"I do understand you, but I can't go back," Arya said, and Genevieve sighed loudly, clutching her chest.
"Aria, we can sit down and talk about what happened! There's no need to stay somewhere else!" Kane said, as his mate sobbed in his arms.
"This is not somewhere else. This is also my home!" Arya said.
"A rogue can never be trusted. He will turn on you the moment you put your guard down," Kane said, looking at Rodriguez with a disgusted face.
His statement only meant that Alfa hadn't told them about her and Rodriguez being related.
"I'm a witch! If he does turn on me, I will be able to protect myself. Thank you for your concern. Now leave!" Arya said, looking at Rodriguez, a smile on her face. He also looked amused.
"Aria, you don't understand! Our son is dying. Only you can save him. Please, come with us!" Genevieve pleaded, and something inside her heart began to give in when they all heard a car coming full speed, stopping right near the gate.
Out jumped Alfa, his face both surprised and angry. He stared at Arya for a long while before saying, "What I did was unforgivable, I know that. But please return back. We can fix this, I can bring back Bella, and things will go back to normal. I promise!"
Arya laughed. Then she said, "Don't worry about Bella. I will bring her back in a few months. As for going back, maybe you should tell your father to do his homework before trying to threaten me with Rodriguez betraying me."
Alfa's face turned white, but Arya continued, "It's a pity that that my aunt knows, but your own parents don't!"
Now, Rodriguez turned to see her face, his own reflecting Alfa's. His eyes questioned hers.
"What is she talking about, son?" Kane asked, staring at Alfa.
"Nothing!" Alfa said a little too quickly.
"Arya, what do you mean?" Rodriguez asked her.
"I'll tell you later!"
"No, tell us now!" Kane demanded.
"And who are you to talk to me like that?" Arya asked, looking straight into Kane's eyes.
"Aria, please, just hear me out..."
"Alright, Alfa. I'm ready to talk, alone!" Arya said, slicing through his sentence. "But if you try anything funny, I will kill you!"
The way she said that made Alfa flinch. Was it that easy for her to just kill him?
Arya stepped out of the gate, and Alfa followed her a little further from everyone. She knew that wolves had a very good hearing. Therefore, she had to talk without revealing too much.
"Aria..." "I called Aunt Kim. She told me Ronald had called!" Arya said.
All the colour drain from Alfa's face, and Arya continued through mindlink, as she didn't want the others to hear what she was about to say to him.
'I know there's a mole walking among us. I have my suspect, and by God, if he is feeding you information about this pack, I will personally see to it that I kill him in front of you.'
Alfa looked even paler than a vampire.
Arya went from mindlink to actually talking. "Alfa, I don't trust you, that's why I cannot come with you."
"Aria, what I did was a mistake. Please let me try to fix it," Alfa said.
"This is my home! I'm never returning. Live with it!" Saying that, Arya turned around to leave. Alfa grabbed her hand, saying, "Wait! Before you go, I just want to say, I'll always wait for you, no matter what." Then he let go.
Arya stood there looking as Alfa walked up to his parents and, taking their hands, led them toward their car. Then, he went to his own car and drove off, followed by his parents.
After the cars had long disappeared on the road, Arya walked back to Rodriguez, who was still standing at the gate.
"Arya, are you alright?" He asked.
Arya managed a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. She just nodded. She and they made their way back.
While Alfa drove back, his mind went back to what Arya said. It was true that he had sent Michelle to the pack as an agent, but Arya said 'him'. Could she be suspicious about a man? Or she could be playing!
Whatever she was doing, he had to warn Michelle, even when Arya thinks that the mole is a man.
"What was that about?" Rodriguez asked Arya as they reached the pack house.
"Nothing. I called Aunt Kim the other day and told her about you. She had told me that she had heard it from Ronald. I just told Alfa that if he has someone on the inside, he better watch out."
"You think there's someone in here who gave that information to them?" Rodriguez asked, coming to a stop.
"I don't know. Could be? Or it could be that Alfa has someone stationed outside the gate to inform him of what was happening here!" Arya said casually.
"My guards would have caught a scent of an unknown wolf if any were outside!"
"Not if they didn't have any scent!"
