Chapter 6 - Threads of Jealousy

Prince Fairo traveled with a number of royal guards to the Kingdom of the Water Fairies. In the grand marketplace, he purchased rare horses and shimmering, aquatic-themed artifacts, intending to sell them later. But the trip did not go without incident. Princess Lyras was suddenly attacked while roaming the streets. Without a single hesitation, the prince bravely rushed to protect her. He managed to save her skillfully—earning the admiration of all, especially the princess herself, who seemed to fall deeply for him.

A few days later, Fairo returned to the Kingdom of Nairon loaded with riches. Before entering the palace, Fairo shared a quiet moment with Dalirina in the courtyard, slipping a small, glowing aquatic stone into her palm—a simple, secret token of their bond. She beamed at him, for a moment just a girl, not a servant.

Days passed, and the Fairy King officially asked for his daughter's hand in marriage to Prince Fairo. King Nairon smiled, giving his initial approval. But the prince shocked everyone in the room by saying: "I'm sorry… my heart belongs to someone else."

A heavy, suffocating silence fell. All eyes in the court slowly turned toward Nazar. The prince didn't say a specific name—but the burning suspicion in Nazar's heart instantly turned to absolute certainty. Nazar boiled with an uncontrollable rage, knowing exactly whom the prince meant.

After the banquet, Nazar approached Lyras. Away from prying ears, she whispered maliciously: "Do you know who the prince actually loves? A girl named Dalirina… a poor thief whose mother was a dumb farm worker. Imagine!"

Lyras's eyes twisted with ugly jealousy. That night, Dalirina sat in her small room mending a torn dress, feeling the faint, cool glow of her stone. She had no idea that outside her door, a servant was creeping into her room to plant the stolen gold.

The next day, the princess declared strictly in open court: "Some of our gold is missing..."

Dalirina realized the plot, remembering the servant she'd seen. Nazar sneered loudly: "Dalirina?! Who else could it be? A greedy, poor girl—what do you expect?" The gold was found hidden in her room.

Fairo immediately stood up in a fury: "Enough! I won't allow anyone to be falsely accused—especially not Dalirina. I will uncover the truth and prove her innocence myself."

Nazar and Lyras locked eyes in a shared, silent hatred. The threads of the plot were beginning to unravel—but the dangerous fire still simmered beneath the ashes…
