Chapter 128 - Chapter 128: For Scott's Own Good

Jacob appeared in the living room of his mansion in Beacon Hills and found Stiles and Scott about to leave.

Stiles saw him and said, "Where have you been? We were looking for you all over the place."

"I was in Serendell, my other home," Jacob replied.

"Well, give Scott his car back. We're late for school."

"Oh, I forgot I still had it." Jacob led Stiles and Scott outside, took Scott's car from his pocket dimension, and placed it in the driveway. "Here is the car, but you guys are skipping school today."

"Why?" Stiles asked.

"I'm taking you to Serendell."

"Finally! I really want to see this extradimensional home of yours."

Jacob put his hands on their shoulders and looked at Scott. "You seem very quiet, man. Why is that?"

"Did you talk to her?" Scott asked.

"I did."

"What did she say?"

Jacob smirked. "I'll tell you later."

Scott snorted. "From that smirk of yours, I already got the answer."

Jacob just smiled and teleported them all into the sky above Serendell, using his telekinesis to keep them hovering.

Stiles and Scott stared wide-eyed at the breathtaking island below them for several minutes.

Finally, Stiles turned to Jacob. "What kind of… magical place is this? And how did you get it?"

"I inherited it." Then Jacob teleported them down to Melissa, who was standing nervously where he had left her. He dropped Stiles and Scott on the ground, then walked over to Melissa and hugged her.

Stiles sat up, saying, "Can't you be gentl..." His words cut off when he saw Jacob hugging Melissa. "Hold on, what's going on between you two? When did this happen?"

"This morning," Jacob said with a smile.

Scott stood up and sighed, looking at his mother.

Melissa said, "Jacob told me he already talked to you, and you have no problem with me being with him."

"Yes," Scott said. "As long as you're happy, Mom, then I have no problem."

Melissa smiled. "I'm really happy and looking forward to my new magical life. Thank you, Scott."

Jacob said, "Scott, I'll take good care of Mel, I promise. I'll never make her sad."

"Don't call her Mel," Scott said sharply.

Jacob smirked. "Why? She's my wife. I can call her whatever I want." He looked at Melissa. "Isn't that right, beautiful?" Without waiting for an answer, he leaned in and kissed her deeply, only stopping when he heard a low growl.

He turned to see Scott glaring at him, eyes flashing—but what caught Jacob's attention wasn't the anger. Scott's eyes were glowing, cycling between yellow, orange, and red before settling back to yellow, then repeating the cycle.

Jacob thought, 'Oh, he's feeling so conflicted he's about to become an Alpha. He only needs a little push. If I remember right, in the original show, he became a True Alpha when he was desperate to save Melissa from Jennifer. That might be what he needs now.'

He sent a telepathic message to Melissa: [Mel, look at Scott's eyes. He's about to become an Alpha, and I know how to help him—but you have to play along.]

Melissa focused on Scott's glowing eyes and replied telepathically: [What should I do?]

[I'll teleport us deep into the Beacon Hills Preserve, then disappear and let Malia attack you three. She'll pretend to want to kill you. She might have to beat Scott up pretty bad, but he'll heal. You need to pretend to be scared. It's for our son's own good.]

Melissa rolled her eyes and pushed Jacob away, responding, [Okay, I'll play along.]

Jacob pretended to panic. "Guys, something powerful is attacking Allison in the Beacon Hills Preserve!"

Stiles looked alarmed. "What? How do you know that?"

"She's my wife—I have a connection with her. Let's go!" In a hurry, Jacob wrapped all three in his telekinesis and teleported them out of Serendell, deep into the Beacon Hills Preserve.

Just as they appeared in the woods, Jacob opened a portal to Serendell behind them. "Watch out—it's a trap!" he shouted, then shoved the three away and pretended to be sucked into the portal. Before disappearing, he yelled, "Scott, Stiles, run and protect Melissa!"

Stiles and Scott watched in panic as the portal swallowed Jacob and vanished. They didn't snap out of it until Melissa urged, "What are you waiting for? Let's get out of here!"

"Yeah," Scott said, turning his back to her. "Mom, get on my back."

Melissa felt a pang of guilt, which Scott sensed.

"Mom, don't feel guilty. I can carry you and run like I'm not carrying anything."

Melissa thought, 'Oh no, I almost ruined Jacob's plan because I felt guilty about what's going to happen to Scott.' She shook her head, climbed onto Scott's back, and the two boys took off at full supernatural speed.

---

In Serendell, Jacob appeared in the living room where Lydia and Kitty were scrolling through their phones and Malia was playing with Saphira.

After quickly explaining the situation, he said. "Malia, I want you to shift into your giant coyote form and attack the three of them. Pretend you want to kill Melissa—but remember, don't hurt her. She's still human."

Malia's eyes lit up. "Can I beat Scott?"

Jacob smirked. "Yes. And Stiles too. Give them both a good beating."

Malia smiled excitedly. "This is going to be fun."

"Alright, shift and go after them."

Malia stripped off her clothes, shifted into her full animal form—a horse-sized coyote with wings—and teleported to the Beacon Hills Preserve. She sensed Melissa's location through their new connection, then took to the air. Her wings spread wide, and she channeled her lightning powers, turning into a blue flash of lightning as she shot toward them.

Jacob, holding Saphira, teleported to the woods as well, along with Lydia and Kitty. They followed from a distance, hiding their presence with Jacob's telekinetic shield and Lydia's sound barrier.

"Wait," Lydia whispered. "Won't Stiles and Scott recognize Malia?"

"They won't," Jacob assured her. "They've never seen her in this form. They think she's a regular coyote, but now she's huge, winged, and looks more like a wolf."

---

On the other side, Scott and Stiles were running with all their strength when Scott suddenly stopped, a primal fear gripping him.

Stiles skidded to a halt and looked back, finding Scott frozen in place, his eyes wide with horror at something behind Stiles.

Stiles stiffened, hearing the crackle of lightning behind him. "T-there's something behind me… right?"

Scott shouted in panic, "Run!"

But it was too late.

Malia's giant paw hit Stiles hard, sending him flying into a tree trunk. He slid to the ground, groaning. "Agh, that hurts." He stood up, clutching his side. "Something's definitely broken."

He looked to see what had hit him—a giant winged wolf standing where he had just been. "W-what is that thing?"

"I don't know," Scott said, "but I saw it come from the sky in a blur of lightning."

Stiles noticed the lightning still dancing across Malia's fur. "We're doomed." He took out his phone and tried to call Jacob. No answer. He tried Allison, Lydia, and Cogman—none picked up. He looked at Scott in horror. "Scott, I called Jacob and the others, but none of them answered."

"Didn't you hear Jacob?" Scott said. "He said it was a trap before he got sucked into that space portal. Maybe they're busy dealing with it. Now come on—let's protect Mom. I don't like the way that thing is looking at her."

Scott put Melissa down. "Mom, go. Stiles and I will buy you enough time to escape."

Melissa pretended to be scared. "But can you even last a minute against that thing?"

Scott turned to her, his eyes glowing yellow. His features turned wolf-like, his skin turning grey with fur growing around his face and the backs of his hands. "Just go. I can't protect you and fight at the same time. Don't worry—I'm strong."

"Okay, be careful," Melissa said, then started to run.

Just then, Stiles shouted, "Scott, watch out!"

Scott turned to find Malia standing just inches away. With a swipe of her claws, she sent him flying, crashing into Stiles. They scrambled up quickly; a deep wound on Scott's chest was already healing.

Malia then used her lightning speed, disappearing from her spot and reappearing in Melissa's path. She began stalking toward her, growling low.

Stiles and Scott ran at full speed, positioning themselves between Malia and Melissa, then charged. Malia simply swatted them away with her paw, sending them flying left and right into trees. She kept advancing slowly toward Melissa, who backed away, pretending to be terrified.

Stiles and Scott ignored their wounds and charged again, only to be easily thrown back, deep claw marks scoring their bodies.

Scott and Stiles got up once more and charged. This time, Malia opened her mouth and released two small birds made of lightning. One shot toward Scott, the other toward Stiles. They tried to dodge, but the birds followed, striking them and sending them to the ground convulsing from the electricity.

Then Malia pounced on Melissa, pinning her down beneath her giant form. She growled, lowering her head slowly as if preparing to bite.

Scott, still convulsing on the ground, roared. Forcing his trembling body to stand, his eyes glowed red. He charged and slammed into Malia's side, creating a shockwave on impact—but she didn't budge. With a swing of her wing, she sent him flying again, then opened her mouth and fired another lightning bird at Stiles, who was trying to charge, knocking him back to the ground convulsing.

Malia lowered her head toward Melissa and sent a telepathic message: [Melissa, the last time Scott attacked me, his eyes were glowing red. Let's give him a final push. I'll pretend to bite you—scream.]

She lowered her head and gently placed Melissa's shoulder and neck in her mouth, pretending to bite down.

Melissa screamed.

Scott heard it. He got up and saw the terrifying sight—his mother's shoulder and neck in the giant wolf's mouth. He let out a roar from the depths of his soul. His eyes glowed a firm, steady red this time, and his body began to shift. He grew taller, reaching 2.5 meters. Dark fur spread across his body, and his head transformed into that of a wolf. Then he charged.

Malia released Melissa and turned to face the beast Scott had become. His glowing red eyes met hers as he charged. She met his assault with a swipe of her giant paw. A shockwave erupted where paw met fist, but Scott was still sent flying backward, crashing hard to the ground. He stood up and charged again—and Malia kept toying with him.

---

Jacob, watching from a distance, said, "Alright, the plan worked. Scott's an Alpha now. But I have to admit, I didn't think he'd shift into that."

Lydia said, "Even though he's an Alpha, he's still way weaker than Malia."

"Malia's a chimera and she drank the Hulk serum," Jacob replied. "Of course Scott doesn't stand a chance."

He sighed. "Let's go stop the fight. Otherwise, Malia's going to beat Scott back into a Beta."
