Chapter 256 - Chapter 256: The Hundred-Person Holy Grail War

Chapter 256: The Hundred-Person Holy Grail War

The purple-haired girl was actually an existence from the future. Before arriving in this world, various events had occurred, and she now possessed the memories of all parallel worlds. Having broken free from the Moon-Cell, she was now an existence similar to a Servant.

To save her precious Senpai, the purple-haired girl began collecting Holy Grails. However, ordinary Holy Grails possessed only magical energy and could not fulfill her true objective. Thus, BB traveled through various dimensions and, after a great deal of effort, finally obtained a Holy Grail of Black Mud. From it, she extracted crucial information and finally arrived in this world.

Though she desperately wanted to find Shirou-senpai immediately, lock him away, and tease him thoroughly to vent her frustration, her task was incredibly difficult. One wrong step would ruin everything. Consequently, she had to act with extreme caution and had been enduring the urge to meet him.

Currently, in a purplish-red space, the girl with purple hair and a black cloak waved a conductor's baton, conducting video calls with humans on the other side of the screens one by one. Among those talking to BB were people of yellow, white, brown, and black skin.

The purple-haired girl leaned in, reaching out with both hands to pull the camera closer to her. Facing the screen directly, she said:

"That's right! Whether in terms of the 'magical energy' I control, my combat power, my various cheating abilities, or any other aspect, I am the strongest, most evil, and cutest BB-chan in history!"

BB revealed the truth behind the FGO system to the group—the principles of Servants and the existence of the organization known as Chaldea. Not only did she address the Pseudo-Servant hosts in Japan, but she also introduced the basic rules of this Holy Grail War and the map layout to participants from other countries.

Although BB was trusted by most of these people and acted as if she were familiar with them, as an invincible and cute "cheat AI," she treated the contestants from other countries with the same impartiality. Throughout all timelines, only a handful of people were ever worthy of her favoritism.

To BB, human nationality or skin color had no meaning. After all, she was a super AI created by the Moon-Cell—the supercomputer of an alien civilization. From the very beginning, she was not human.

The Moon-Cell, in a sense, could be called the oldest mysterious living entity in the solar system. At the dawn of Earth's birth, it was installed on the moon by an alien civilization to observe the newborn planet. The advanced technology it possessed was something that humans—the highest intelligence on Earth—could not hope to reach even after 4.6 billion years.

Unlike humans, the Moon-Cell was a "Life 3.0" biological system. The determination of what constitutes "life" is a complex hierarchy. Life is composed of hardware (the tangible part used for action and gathering information) and software (the intangible part used for thinking and processing information). The higher the complexity, the higher the version:

Life 1.0: Refers to organisms that cannot change their own hardware or software. This includes almost all plants and animals on Earth. Their fate is determined by DNA; they cannot redesign their bodies (hardware) or their way of thinking (software). They can only evolve slowly over countless generations on a scale of centuries. Life 2.0: Refers to beings that cannot change their hardware but can redesign their software. By encountering new things, they constantly change their perception of the world and learn new skills. This stage appeared about 100,000 years ago: Humans. While humans are still limited by DNA hardware and evolve slowly through reproduction, they can adapt rapidly to their environment through learning. Life 3.0: Refers to supercomputers and super AIs like the Moon-Cell. This life system can upgrade itself by constantly producing new hardware and developing new software systems.

When facing incalculable problems, all Moon-Cell needs to do is upgrade its computer functions. With better hardware, it gains a more comprehensive body; with better software, it gains higher intelligence and stronger computing power. Therefore, to some extent, Moon-Cell is a life form far superior to the human race. To such a being, humans are incomprehensible—and as a creation of that entity, BB is equally difficult for them to understand.

Furthermore, the world she came from was different. In that world, due to the collapse of Mana (Great Source) and the depletion of resources, wars broke out between nations for survival. Human technology stagnated and was on the verge of decline. It was a world away from this peaceful one.

After arriving here, she noticed various contradictions. Despite cruel events and evil humans doing bad things, this world curiously always trended toward a happy ending. There were no high-intensity disasters like massive earthquakes or tsunamis. Even if there was a fire, rain would fall from the sky; coincidences always minimized the damage. Bad people were inevitably punished, and international conflicts were always suppressed before they could escalate into war. The people of this world lived with a baseline level of guaranteed happiness.

A world that once prohibited magical energy now allowed the Pseudo-Servant system; the rules had shifted as if the person in charge had changed. This also resulted in all humans in this world possessing an interesting ability: a constitution that easily allowed for Heroic Spirit possession.

Such a world might be happy for humans, but for Shirou-senpai living within it, there was no happy future.

"Senpai~ this is all for you. That's why BB-chan has decided to destroy this world," the purple-haired girl said with a smile, her eyes flashing red.

Of course, given her personality and inherent traits, it was difficult for her to stand on the front lines of a battlefield. So, the girl thought: 'Then let BB-chan help everyone make this world a bit more lively!'

Through various means, BB began to get to know the hosts of the Pseudo-Servants. Among them, Kayaba—a researcher with deep knowledge of virtual worlds—became her ally. After making the existence of the Holy Grail known, BB set up various challenges for people. She distributed the Holy Grails she had collected as prizes, inducing them to find and fight for more.

The results were surprisingly good. Humans blinded by greed would dare to do anything; they didn't even let the powerful "Black Mud" Heroic Spirits go.

"Shirou-senpai! This time, BB-chan will definitely change the future and save you!" The purple-haired girl clenched her fist and made a silent vow.

In a house in Chiba, the boy who had been targeted was still completely unaware of all this, busy in the kitchen. Although new problems had been discovered today and no definitive information had arrived to solve them, one still had to eat. In fact, because of the arduous battles ahead, it was even more important to eat well.

Besides, there were four mouths in the living room waiting for food. The girls, who had been out all day, decided that home-cooked meals were better and rushed back before dinner. They were currently killing time by watching TV and playing on their phones, gradually getting used to this lifestyle of waiting to be fed.

Because there were more people to eat, the boy felt even more motivated while cooking. After a while, Shirou brought a dinner featuring various international flavors to the table. He took off his apron and was about to call the girls to eat when Da Vinci appeared in the living room via a holographic projection.

"Shirou! Everyone! I have a lead on this matter, and it's serious! They are planning to hold a large-scale Holy Grail War!"

Above, the roar of large turbojet engines sounded. Another giant aircraft landed at the airport. A group of tourists disembarked from a flight that had come directly from the Jiangnan West Circuit to Tokyo.

A cute little girl with twin-tails that swayed as she walked headed toward the immigration counter, clutching a small bag.

"What is this?" the immigration officer asked, looking at the bag the girl held.

"It's a commemorative trophy for a competition with friends here!" The little girl revealed a bright smile and opened the bag to show a golden cup, answering in Japanese.

"Oh? Your Japanese is excellent. What kind of competition? Table tennis? Badminton?" the staff member asked curiously.

"It's a game! An online game many people play together!" the girl replied with a laugh.

The staff member was charmed by the girl's cuteness, smiled as he stamped the passport, and said, "I see. Well then, welcome to Tokyo!"

"Thank you, Uncle! Goodbye~!" The twin-tailed girl didn't forget to wave.

"Uncle? I'm not even twenty-five yet... but she's cute, so 'Uncle' it is. Goodbye~!" The staff member waved back, feeling refreshed.

"Wait for us, Princess!" Two girls dragging suitcases chased after her.

The three girls walked to the parking lot, where a black stretched Bentley was waiting. The man who got out to open the door for them was "Acre-less Arrow" Zhang Qing, currently dressed in a black suit and serving as the girl's bodyguard.

Zhou Meimei sat inside the car. Sitting there already was a girl with long brown hair, blue eyes, and wearing a JK uniform. She was playing with a sharp blade that flashed with a chilling light, exuding the aura of someone who lived on the edge of danger.

"Hi, thanks for coming all the way from Fukuoka. I'll be counting on you for this event, Linlin," Zhou Meimei said to the person sitting opposite her.

"Tch. As long as I can make money, I don't care," the JK beauty in the Japanese school uniform replied, sitting with legs crossed and speaking in a male voice. Upon closer inspection, there was a slight Adam's apple on the neck, and under the skirt were flat-front boxers.

"Of course. This Emperor's word is as good as gold. Besides, solving things with money is the best method for me!" Zhou Meimei—or rather, Wu Zetian—replied directly.

As the daughter of a merchant and the only female Emperor in Chinese history, she was perhaps the ruler who least looked down on merchants and best understood the value of commerce. During her reign, the Tang Dynasty's foreign trade was at its most active.

Even if her foreign policy was relatively conservative—defending against the Turks and abandoning the rebellious Khitan—she never let go of the Western Regions. She constantly sent troops to maintain control over the Protectorates, actively seeking business opportunities and ensuring the Silk Road remained open. She also continuously built water conservancy projects, creating a system where all waterways led to Luoyang, connecting Sichuan, Zhejiang, and Fujian. She developed several seaport cities like Guangzhou, Jiaozhou, and Dengzhou for maritime trade.

By the later Tang period, while the Tang Sanzang of the Xuanzong era had traveled a hundred thousand miles through eighty-one trials to reach India, by Wu Zetian's time, the monk Yijing could reach it directly by merchant ship via the sea route.

So, her arrival in this country wasn't purely for a violent takeover; she was here to talk business. To live in this world and gain a new life, a single Holy Grail was enough for her. However, she wasn't particularly good at frontal combat. If she became a target for everyone, it would be dangerous.

Thus, capable subordinates and a protection mechanism were necessary. At this moment, the face that appeared in the girl's mind was that of the kind, reliable, and sincere boy—the smile of the boy next door.

Important announcement

Hello everyone!

Thank you as always for your support!

There are 2 new Fanfictions!

Emiya Shirou will change the fake Holy Grail War

A false Holy Grail War was held in Snowfield City.

Consequently, the Noble Phantasms of Gilgamesh and Enkidu flew wildly like rain. The Pale Rider rapidly infected the entire city. The Avenger Heracles surged with overflowing black mud. Even the Zealot, who possessed the eighteen secret techniques of the Hassans, had to struggle just to survive in the cracks between them.

A battlefield where gods fight is exactly like this; a duel between a human and a Heroic Spirit is, after all, a distant and irrelevant myth.

That is, if the silhouette of a certain red-haired "faker" young man hadn't happened to—randomly, inadvertently, and accidentally—pass by this world's counterfeit Holy Grail War.

COTE: Katsuragi Keima's battle of wits in love

The youth, Katsuragi Keima, was holding his game console, posting walkthroughs for various galge (dating sims) across different forums.

At that very moment, Katsuragi Keima received a new message.

[To the Capturing God]

[I've heard the rumors that you can capture any girl, regardless of who she is. While I find it unlikely, if it is true, there are many girls waiting for your capture. (This will be a super-high difficulty galge unlike anything you have ever experienced.)]

"What's this? An email full of such provocative undertones... who does he think I am? The God does not run away!"

Katsuragi Keima pressed the confirmation button.
