Kael let out a laugh—low at first, then rising, filling the hall with an unexpected, almost jarring sound.
"Hahaha—"
The people around him stared, confusion etched into every face. What was there to laugh about?
Then his gaze swept across them, sharp and unyielding. "Isn't this quite ironic?" he said, his voice carrying an edge of mockery. "Your decision is supposedly for the tribe—but whatever I say is somehow against it. If that's the case, then what's the point of us working together?"
He paused, letting the weight of his words settle like ash.
"Well, since I'm apparently speaking against the tribe's interests… isn't it only right that we part ways here?"
The old man flinched, as though the words had struck him across the face.
"That's not what we meant…" the old man responded, his voice strained, his demeanor anxious, sweeping his gaze around as if asking for support.
However, before someone else could chime in, Kael's voice cut through the air.
