Chapter 112 Genetic Collapse
Gritting his teeth, Zhuo Geng spat out several teeth mixed with blood.
Not only did his teeth fall out, but he even felt his eyeballs bulging out, and he was worried that his eyeballs might suddenly fall to the ground.
"Drogon! What... what's wrong with you?" Daenerys, drawn by Drogon's earlier roar of pain, ran downstairs.
She was initially happy about Zhuo Geng's awakening, but unexpectedly, she saw Zhuo Geng covered in blood when she came down.
At this moment, the floor and walls of the pyramid hall were covered in blood. Except for the wings, which had less blood, Drogon's huge body was also bleeding everywhere, and a large pool of blood had gathered on the ground in front of his chest.
Seeing Daenerys about to run toward Drogon, Kitty, realizing what was happening, quickly stopped her.
She had witnessed firsthand the terrifying sight of Drogon's tail slicing through the stone wall, and now that Drogon was emotionally unstable, she dared not let Daenerys take any risks.
Daenerys, however, ignored her objections and insisted on going to see what was wrong with Drogon.
"roar!"
Daenerys was about to go over when Drogon's dragon roar stopped her.
Drogon understands his situation better than anyone else. He can't guarantee what he might do when he's in unbearable pain. If he hurts Daenerys, it will be too late to regret it.
Daenerys was stopped by Drogon's shout. She wasn't afraid of Drogon hurting her and didn't dare to go forward, but she understood what Drogon meant and didn't want her to get close to him.
Just as Drogon roared at Daenerys Targaryen, another wave of intense pain surged through his body. With nowhere to vent his frustration, he slammed his head against the pyramid floor. The people in the hall who rushed over upon hearing the commotion immediately felt as if the entire pyramid had shaken.
Zhuo Geng was about to crash into the wall, but he managed to hold back, fearing that crashing into it would create a large hole in the pyramid.
The violent impact of his head hitting the ground did nothing to alleviate his pain. He knew he couldn't stay there any longer, or he might end up tearing the pyramid down.
Enduring the excruciating pain, he struggled to turn his body, using his claws and wings to propel himself toward the pyramid's entrance.
At this moment, he felt that not only his muscles, but even his bones seemed to be losing their control, and the pain increased tenfold with every movement.
Seeing Drogon about to leave the pyramid, Daenerys followed him in tears, only to be quickly stopped by Tyrion and Missandei.
Although they were very worried seeing Drogon's pained appearance, they also knew that with Drogon's great power and current condition, it was really not suitable for him to stay in the pyramid.
Watching Drogon struggle to move his claws and wings, his body trembling with pain with every step, Daenerys wished she could take away Drogon's pain and knelt on the ground, weeping uncontrollably.
hold head high!
Rhaegal and Viserion had already heard Drogon's roar of pain and were circling anxiously above the pyramids.
Drogon finally reached the door with great difficulty, glanced back at Daenerys kneeling on the ground and weeping, still not understanding what had happened to him, and wondering if he would ever see the Mother of Dragons again after this departure.
Seeing Drogon's lingering gaze, Daenerys forcefully broke free from the arm that was holding her and ran towards Drogon.
Tyrion and Missandei also saw Drogon's farewell look and knew that if they dared to hold Daenerys back again, they would surely face her wrath.
Seeing Daenerys running towards him, Drogon struggled to move his claws while flapping his wings, and took off before Daenerys reached him.
But he hadn't flown far when he felt a sharp pain in his chest. The skin and scales on his chest were torn apart by the bone, and large gushes of blood gushed out from his chest, scattering from the air. Zhuo Geng could no longer maintain his balance and fell headfirst to the ground.
Daenerys had just reached the entrance of the pyramid when she saw Drogon fall from the sky, his blood spilling everywhere. She was so terrified she almost fainted.
"Guards! Go check on Drogon!" Seeing Drogon fall far away, Daenerys knew she was too slow and quickly ordered the soldiers to go and check on him.
The inhabitants of Meereen had already seen Rhaegal and Viserion roaring in the sky, as well as Drogon, several times larger than the other two dragons, bleeding profusely in the sky.
They thought something had injured Zhuo Geng, causing his wound to reopen and him to fall as soon as he took to the air.
Zhuo Geng was not injured by the fall, and even if he was injured, it was far less serious than the injuries he was currently suffering.
Looking at the bone spur protruding from his chest, Zhuo Geng felt like crying. Who had he offended to deserve such suffering?
Drogon glanced at the Unsullied guards running towards him from afar, knowing they couldn't help him and that letting Daenerys see him in his current state would only make her more heartbroken.
Just as he was about to get up and continue flying, he saw Rego and Viserion descend from the sky, growling at him anxiously and nudging his body with their heads, trying to get him to stand up.
Hearing their roars and seeing them pushing him so hard, Zhuo Geng was surprised that his two younger brothers and sisters, whom he had trained so hard, were still so concerned about him.
With their support, and enduring the excruciating pain in his chest, Zhuo Geng struggled to his feet, spread his wings, pushed off the ground with his claws, and took flight once more.
Seeing Drogon being carried away by Rhaegal and Viserion from afar, Daenerys cried even harder.
She felt utterly useless, not even as good as Rhego and Viserion. From the time Drogon was born until now, he had always been the one helping her, while she had done nothing for him.
Now that Zhuo Geng is seriously injured, he can only watch helplessly, while Zhuo Geng, fearing that he would see his miserable state, desperately flies away to another place.
Watching Drogon's unsteady flight, Daenerys collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down her face.
"His Majesty!"
"Kaleido!"
Seeing Daenerys's distressed state, Missandei and Kitty went to her side and whispered words of comfort.
Daenerys ignored their words and simply lowered her head, sobbing silently.
"Have men ride horses in the direction Drogon flew off to search for him. We must find him," Jorah instructed the Unsullied, watching the heartbroken Daenerys.
He was training new recruits when he heard Drogon's roar and rushed over. He saw Drogon being lifted off the ground and asked Tyrion before learning that Drogon had slept for a few days and then woke up like this.
Daenerys cried for a while, and when she could no longer see Drogon and the others, she was helped back to the pyramid by Missandei.
Zhuo Geng struggled to fly out of Meereen City, but after crossing the Skazadan River, he could no longer fly and landed on the riverbank.
Rego and Viserion followed him to the ground, looking at his still bleeding wounds, but they dared not lick them, and anxiously circled around him.
Zhuo Geng thought of a terrifying phenomenon regarding everything that had happened to him—genetic collapse.
Otherwise, how can we explain his agonizing transformation?
He thought he would die on the way out of Meereen, but he never expected to make it this far.
