"I suppose you are right," Aldric admitted after a moment, though there was still bitterness beneath his tone.
Gwen gave a small respectful bow before turning toward Aurelia.
"My lady," she said gently, "the preparations for the birthday celebration have all been completed. I personally oversaw every detail to ensure that nothing was overlooked."
Aurelia looked at her attentively.
"The celebration will begin in roughly two hours," Gwen continued. "Which means you should begin preparing soon, Your Grace."
Aurelia nodded slowly. "I see. Thank you, Gwen."
"It was my pleasure," Gwen replied warmly. "Today is an important day for the young prince. Everything needed to be perfect."
At the mention of Vaelric, Aurelia's expression softened instantly.
"Yes," she murmured. "It does."
Then she turned back toward her brother.
"It seems our conversation will have to continue later," she told him apologetically. "I still need to prepare for my son's birthday celebration."
