Chapter 2 - chapter 2 More Than Just a Winner

After a moment, the biker slowly removed her helmet.

A wave of shock ran through the crowd.

It was a girl.

A girl who had just defeated a group of boys with breathtaking skill.

And she was the same girl who had once been trapped in that mysterious spiritual bungalow.

She stepped onto the stage, casually running her fingers through her hair, her helmet dangling from her other hand. There was a quiet confidence in her walk, something fierce and untouchable.

A man stood waiting for her, holding a trophy in one hand and a microphone in the other.

He looked at her and asked, "What is your name?"

The girl took the microphone, her voice steady and clear.

"My name is Tania."

The moment those words left her lips, the crowd erupted into cheers. Her name echoed everywhere loud, proud, unstoppable.

"Tania! Tania! Tania!"

She was handed a large trophy along with a cash reward of 21,000.

A faint smile appeared on her face. She accepted the prize… but after a brief pause, she placed the trophy back on the table.

She kept only the money.

Without saying anything, she slipped it into her bag.

Then, just like that, she walked away.

A little later, her bike came to a halt in front of a broken, fragile hut.

The structure looked like it could collapse at any moment.

She parked her bike and stepped down, her expression softening as she walked inside.

An old man lay on a worn-out cot, weak and visibly ill.

The moment he saw her, a faint smile appeared on his face.

"You've come, Tania… my daughter."

He paused, his voice filled with concern.

"Your mother was very worried. Why weren't you picking up the phone?"

Tania walked closer and sat beside him, her eyes gentle.

"I had some work, father. That's why I couldn't answer."

Without wasting another second, she took out the money and placed it into his trembling hands.

"Don't worry, father," she said softly. "I will get you the best treatment. You will get well soon… no matter what I have to do."

Her father's eyes filled with tears.

He slowly sat up, looking at her with a mix of pride and regret.

"I used to feel sad… that I never had a son," he said, his voice breaking. "But what did I know? My daughter would turn out stronger than any son… caring for me like this."

He paused, then asked gently, "But where did all this money come from?"

Tania smiled faintly and stood up, turning away as she moved toward the table.

"Leave that, father… tell me, where is mother?"

Behind her, her father watched quietly.

"Tania…" he said slowly, "why are you avoiding my eyes? Have you done something wrong?"

Those words hit her like a spark.

She turned back instantly, anger flashing in her eyes.

"Wrong?" she said sharply. "Me?"

Her voice trembled not with fear, but with pride.

"Have you raised me with such values that I would do something wrong? I can never sell my conscience for money. I haven't done anything like that."

She paused, then added firmly, "This is my winning money."

Her father smiled, a knowing look on his face.

"I said that on purpose," he admitted. "Otherwise, you wouldn't have told me."

Tania's anger melted into a small smile.

She walked back to him, held his hand in both of hers, and said softly, "You always trick me."

Then, with a playful tone, she asked again, "Now tell me… where is mother?"

"First, bring me some water," he replied with a smile.

Tania got up, brought a glass of water, and handed it to him.

While drinking, he said, "Your mother has gone to the market."

Just then, Tania's phone rang.

A girl's voice came from the other side, slightly annoyed.

"Where are you? Come hurry up."

"I'm coming," Tania replied quickly and hung up.

She turned to her father.

"It's okay, father. Give this money to mother. I have to go—another job is waiting."

She walked into the bathroom and, moments later, came out dressed as a nurse.

Before leaving, she glanced back.

"Take care of yourself."

Then she walked out.

As soon as she left, her father's smile faded.

"I lied to you, daughter…" he whispered to himself.

"Your mother didn't go to the market. Just like you, she has also gone to arrange money for me."

His eyes filled again.

"If I had told you the truth, you would have stopped everything and gone looking for her… and then you would have been angry at both of us."

He sighed deeply.

"You try to take all the responsibility on yourself… I don't know why I am so helpless… that both of you have to struggle like this."

Tears rolled down his cheeks as he sat there in silence.

---

Outside, Tania started her bike and rode away.

She stopped in front of a hospital and quickly parked.

Without wasting a second, she rushed inside.

At the reception, a girl looked at her and said urgently, "Hurry up, you're late today. You were needed in the operation ward. I told Dr. Nishant you were coming… but he's very angry."

"Thank you," Tania said quickly and ran toward the operation ward.

---

Inside, a 32-year-old handsome doctor stood waiting Dr. Nishant.

A patient lay on the operating table, and a file was clenched tightly in his hand.

His face was filled with anger.

The moment he saw Tania, he slammed the file onto the table.

"Where were you?" he snapped. "Do you even understand your responsibilities? Or do you just take money for nothing?"

"I'm sorry, doctor," Tania replied. "I had some urgent work"

Before she could finish, he stepped toward her angrily.

She instinctively stepped back until her back touched the wall.

"What work could be more important than someone's life?" he said sharply. "I don't want excuses. Come and help me."

Without waiting, he turned back to the patient.

Tania clenched her fists slightly, anger rising inside her.

If I didn't have compulsions… I would never tolerate this, she thought.

Dr. Nishant looked back at her again.

"Will you just stand there, or will you help me?"

She silently put on her gloves and stepped forward.

The operation began.

Time passed…

And finally it was successful.

---

After the surgery, Tania let out a long breath.

She washed her hands and stepped outside.

At the reception, she looked at the girl and said, "Devanshi, how bad-tempered is this doctor? He always yells at me. I've never seen him behave like this with anyone else."

She crossed her arms slightly.

"He waits for me in every operation just to scold me."

Devanshi smiled knowingly.

"You're a good nurse, Tania. That's why Dr. Nishant always wants you with him. He trusts you… you're lucky for him."

Tania frowned.

"Then why does he treat me so badly?"

She shrugged.

"Forget it. Give me my bag."

Devanshi handed it to her.

"I need to change. I have another job."

---

After changing, Tania stepped out again.

Now she was dressed in formal coat and pants like she was heading to work at a company.

She returned to the reception.

"I'm leaving," she said. "Send today's payment to my account… and tell Dr. Nishant I worked for three hours, so I need full payment."

She picked up her keys.

"I'm getting late."

And just like that, she left.

---

Moments later, Dr. Nishant came running out.

But she was already gone.

He looked around, searching… but she was nowhere to be seen.

Finally, he walked to the reception.

"Where is Nurse Tania?"

"She left, sir," Devanshi replied. "Should I call her back?"

He shook his head slightly.

"No… let it be. She's always busy anyway."

He paused.

"But she didn't take her payment."

"She asked you to transfer it to her account," Devanshi said.

"Alright… I'll do it."

He turned to leave, but his expression had changed.

There was regret in his eyes.

I didn't treat her well… again, he thought. Every time I decide I won't behave like this… but I lose control.

He sighed.

And because of that… she doesn't even talk to me properly.

---

After he left, Devanshi watched him quietly.

Then she smiled to herself.

Such a good doctor…

But always the same story first he scolds Tania… then he looks for her.

She shook her head slightly.

Nothing is going to change them.
