I looked over and noticed that Maya and Rachel both had their seatbelts unbuckled. Even Mom had undone hers at some point during the flight.
Maya smiled the moment she saw me return to my seat. The silence between her and Victoria had clearly been awkward while I was gone.
She turned to me with a light, curious tone.
"Dexter… so what do you like to do? What are your hobbies?"
"My hobbies?" I answered casually. "I like to play games."
Mom's thought immediately reached me, dripping with sarcasm.

Maya chuckled softly.
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
I shook my head.
"Mom said I'm still too young for that."
Victoria scoffed quietly from beside me.

"Then why don't I introduce you to someone? I bet you two would get along well."
I put on an appropriately excited expression.
