Cherreads

Chapter 322 - 321

The area before them wasn't very large.

One side was connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway, while the other three sides were embraced by the sea. From a distance, it looked almost like a private island—quiet, isolated, and deliberately separated from the world.

Luxury villas had already been built across the land. The architecture was unified and tasteful, clearly planned as a high-end estate rather than ordinary real estate. White walls, expansive glass windows, and winding private roads gave the entire place the air of an exclusive sanctuary.

As Jason walked forward, the system's readings continued to rise.

Spiritual Energy Concentration: 0.92… 0.97… 1.00.

When they reached the entrance, the number stabilized at 1.0.

That alone already met the minimum requirement for placing a Spirit Gathering Sub-Array.

And judging by the gradual increase along the way, the spiritual energy deeper inside the island would only be higher.

Jason's eyes flickered with interest.

"Julia," he said casually, squeezing her hand, "don't you think this island is beautiful?"

Julia looked around, her eyes shining.

"Of course it is," she said without hesitation. "It feels like a paradise."

She wasn't exaggerating.

Her parents had already been discharged from the hospital and were recovering steadily. The family factory was back on track and even thriving. Those who had harmed her family were all behind bars. The heavy burdens that had once weighed on her heart were gone.

Now, traveling with the person she loved, with no worries chasing her from behind—how could she not feel happy?

Even if this place were completely undeveloped, she would probably still find it beautiful.

Jason smiled.

"If you like it," he said lightly, "I'll buy it for you to live in."

Julia froze.

"Huh?" She quickly shook her head. "I—I can just stay in the dorm. Don't waste money like that."

Jason raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing."You live in the dorm… then how am I supposed to hug you to sleep tonight?"

Julia's face instantly turned red.

She lowered her head, embarrassed, but didn't argue. Instead, she quietly tightened her grip on Jason's hand, her answer written clearly in her silence.

Jason chuckled and pulled out his phone, starting a video call.

"Olivia," he said once the call connected, "help me check who owns this island."

"Alright, Young Master. Give me a moment."

True to form, Olivia's efficiency was terrifying.

Less than a minute later, she replied, "This island belongs to the Will family. It's called Moon Island. The acquisition process was complicated—permits, environmental approvals, zoning disputes. They spent a lot of money and pulled many strings. Construction dragged on for years. It was only completed recently and hasn't been occupied yet."

Jason's gaze swept across the island again.

Perfect.

It was already built. The design was elegant. No need to supervise construction, no delays, no hassle.

It was as if the island had been waiting for him.

Jason thought for a moment, then said, "Help me contact Kevin or Victor. Ask them to put in a good word."

He wasn't doing this casually.

Having Kevin or Victor speak up would be far more effective than Jason approaching the Will family directly. Connections only became solid when they were actually used. If you never called on a favor, how could you expect it to work when it truly mattered?

Olivia nodded on the screen."Understood. From what I know, Victor used to be quite close to Evan, the former heir of the Will family. I'll contact Victor."

"Good."

Jason ended the call.

Julia stood quietly beside him, the sea breeze brushing her hair. She looked at the island again, then at Jason, her voice soft.

"Jason… is this really okay?"

Jason smiled, calm and assured.

"If you like it," he said, "then it's worth it."

Behind his words was something he didn't say aloud—

This island wasn't just a gift.

It was the perfect place to build a second Spirit Gathering Sub-Array.

And if everything went as planned, Moon Island wouldn't just be a home.

It would become the foundation of something far greater.

After receiving Jason's approval, Olivia immediately contacted Victor.

Victor, unsurprisingly, was more than happy to help.

Although it had been a long time since he last spoke with Evan Will, Victor still dialed his number without hesitation.

On the other end, Evan's voice sounded lazy and careless.

"Victor," Evan said casually, "what brings you to call me? I thought you'd forgotten I existed."

Victor laughed. "Come on. We raced cars, chased girls, and got into trouble together back then. How could I forget you?"

Evan snorted. "Enough reminiscing. Get to the point. You didn't call just to talk about old times, did you?"

Victor went straight to the point."I want to ask—are you interested in selling Moon Island?"

Evan's response was instant and sharp.

"Nice try," he scoffed. "Moon Island cost my family a fortune and a ridiculous amount of connections. It was built as a future family estate. Everyone will live there eventually. There's no chance we'll sell it. And besides—" his tone turned mocking, "even if you have money, you're not qualified to buy it."

Victor stayed calm."Don't be so absolute. Everything has a price. Of course, I'm not the one buying it. I wouldn't dare. The one who wants it is Jason Carter."

There was a brief silence on the line.

Then Evan laughed coldly.

"So it's him."

His voice carried obvious disdain.

"I've been hearing that name everywhere lately. 'Mr Jason,' right? You really think he can compare to the old elite families? He's just a newly risen rich kid. A flashy upstart. And you, Victor, are actually relaying messages for him? That's… disappointing."

Victor's tone hardened."Evan, watch your words. If you've heard of Jason, you should also know he's not simple."

Evan sneered."I've checked. His parents are rural nobodies. That's his background. You people just refuse to believe it and insist on hyping him up. He's got money, sure, but that's it. Maybe he's just a front—someone laundering money through him."

He paused, then added disdainfully,"Compared to families that have been rooted for generations, he's nothing. You can kneel if you want. I won't. Jason Carter isn't worthy of my family selling its own home."

With that, Evan hung up.

Victor frowned.

He knew Evan's personality well. If he said something like that, persuading him personally would be nearly impossible.

So Victor bypassed Evan entirely and dialed another number—

Daniel Will, the head of the will family.

The call went through the family butler. After Victor identified himself, he was transferred.

Victor spoke with utmost respect, clearly explaining Jason's intentions.

Daniel listened patiently, his tone calm but firm.

"I've heard of Jason Carter," Daniel said. "But Moon Island was built with great effort. We have no intention of selling it."

Victor wasn't surprised. He pressed gently,"Mr. Will, I understand. I also know you hired top feng shui masters and spent years securing approvals. But Jason is sincere. Would you at least be willing to talk with him directly?"

Daniel hesitated.

He had heard of Jason. And while he was uncertain about Jason's background, the strength Jason had shown was undeniably intimidating.

Daniel wasn't the type to offend someone before understanding them fully.

"Very well," he said at last. "I can spare a little time."

Victor had just ended the call when another one came in.

This time, it was a woman's voice.

"Hello, Mr. Will," she said calmly. "This is Olivia, Mr. Carter's personal secretary."

Daniel frowned slightly when he realized it wasn't Jason himself.

Olivia continued smoothly,"My young master truly admires Moon Island. He knows how much effort your family invested in it. To show sincerity, we're willing to pay a premium."

She paused briefly, then spoke clearly:

"Based on construction costs, land value, and market conditions, Moon Island's total valuation should not exceed 70 million dollars. My young master is willing to offer 100 million."

Daniel had already prepared a refusal.

But when he heard the number, his mind froze.

There was a full three-second pause on the line.

"…How much did you say?" Daniel asked slowly.

"One hundred million dollars," Olivia repeated, her tone steady.

"For Moon Island."
