ASHVI'S POV :
The silence in the car was awkward. But my mind was racing with questions . I was stealing glances at Ruhaan, and he was catching me, looking at me repeatedly.
Then he broke the silence,
"So you've decided to not say anything and keep this awkward silence going in the car?" he said with a smirk .
"Why do I have to be the one talking? Can't you say something too?" I replied.
Ruhaan : "What?
Ashvi : What...
What's wrong with you today?"
"Me? What's wrong with me? I'm normal."
"You're never normal, but today you're especially... not normal ."
He was talking, but I was zoning out, staring at him – not really his face, just... that mole above his lip. Ruhaan is handsome, but it's that mole that makes him extra attractive . A tiny smile crept onto my face.
"Quit staring ," he said suddenly.
Ahh, I wasn't looking at you, I was looking outside . Bad try, Ashvi.
Wth i am thinking no Ashvi stop Aghhhh this is so annoying what do i do should i ask him !!!! I cannot live peacefully otherwise..
"Ahh, can I ask you something?"
He glanced at me once.
Ruhaan : "Finally ."
Ahhh "Do you have a girlfriend? I mean, I heard... I mean, Harry was saying you had one in school."
He stopped the car and turned completely towards me,
he started smiling .
"So you've been thinking about this for so long ?"
What?! No.....,ahh... I was just asking...
(why am I stammering?! Oh god, why do I embarrass myself like this? Why did I even ask? )
"No," he said.
I looked at him
Ruhaan:
"There was a girl, but that was in school, when we were in 12th. But not anymore."
"Why did you guys broke up ?" I asked.
He looked at me and said,
"Because I had to meet you ."
What? I asked, confused.
"Nothing!
It was a mistake, and I don't dwell on my mistakes, so forget it."
He started the engine.
I didn't know why, but I felt okay now. I was thinking maybe he's still with that girl, but nope .
"Tell the truth, you've been thinking about this the whole time," he asked suddenly.
I hesitated. Ahh "Yes... I mean, I thought maybe she's in our college, that's why."
"Good, because I thought maybe I did something to upset you, and that's why you're ignoring me ."
Then he smiled – not his usual smile, but a goofy, childish one .
"That's why I' messed up Ayaan's car ."
Ashvi : What?!
"So he'd take your car and you'd have to come with me ."
That left me shocked .
Ashvi:
"But why would I be upset with you ?
Ruhaan:
I don't know i thought... maybe I did something."
"Okay, even if I was upset, what's it to you? Why do you care so much?"
"I care," he said calmly and smiled softly .
I gave him a small smile .

Here, we reached
Ashvi got out of the car and said bye to Ruhaan. She went inside the house, where the maids were talking to her, but she wasn't really listening .
How could she, her mind was somewhere else.
She went straight to her room. Ever since that thing happened, she couldn't stop smiling .
As soon as she entered her room, she looked at herself in the mirror.
Ashvi :
"Why are my cheeks so pink? Maybe I know why now ."
" I started developing feelings for ruhaan "Do I like Ruhaan?... Yes. Or maybe... Whatever it is, I like this feeling ."
And she didn't want to snap out of this confused feeling – whatever it was, it was comforting for her.
She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep .

*At the evening*
ASHVI'S POV :
"Why is everyone shouting in my dream?" she murmured, slowly opening her eyes.
"ASHU!!!"
"Yeahhhhh!" Ashvi jolted awake .
"What is this, Mom? Can't you let me sleep peacefully? Why are you shouting? "
Mom :
"If you'd gotten up when I called you once, I wouldn't have had to shout .
Now, what's wrong? Did Ayaan break his hand or something?"
"Ayaan's your brother, Ashvi. Don't talk like that ."
Ashvi :
"Huh, I hope he knows that too ."
"The Talwar family is coming over for dinner tonight, so get ready ."
Wait, I think I know the Talwar family...🤔
Mom stared at me for a moment, then I realized.
"Oh, Yash's family?"
"Yes, get ready quickly."
"But why are they coming, Mom?"
"Your dad's business partner and friend, that's why they're coming for dinner ," she replied and left.
I quickly got ready and headed downstairs .
They arrived just in time . "Hello Aunty, Hello Uncle," I greeted them.
But Yash wasn't around.
"Is Yash not coming?" I asked
"He's here, probably outside, on a phone call ," his mom replied.
"Ohh."
"Hii Ashvi."
"Ohh, Hiii."
"Shall we? Dinner is ready."
"Yes, why not?"
Dinner is over, and now everyone is in the hall, chatting. And it's so boring . I was thinking how to get out of here when Yash said, "Ashvi, you haven't shown me your room ."
"Ahhh"
"Mom, Aunty, we'll go. You guys continue your conversation."
"Yes, yes, go ."
"Ashvi, why do you need to show him your room? Are you renting it out or something?" Ayaan butted in .
What the hell, what's his problem?
Great chance to get out of here, and he has to interfere .
I shot him a wicked look, and I glanced at Mom – she was staring at Ayaan like she'd kill him .
Ayaan too noticed Mom's look.
"I was just joking, guys. Go ."
He thought it was funny, but you can't say no to Mom .
"Come on, Yash," I said, and we headed upstairs. I thought he'd follow me to my room, but he went straight to the terrace .
"Yash, do you know our house's terrace?" I scoffed.
He smiled .
"You seem to forget Ayaan and we were friends once ."
"Ohh yeah ."
We went to the terrace .
