"Let's? Don't you have your own place?" I narrow my eyes at him.
"I don't like it there. It's just a lonely apartment with not enough furniture. I like your apartment and Grandpa's house, and I have a feeling I'm going to like your new house too." He rambles, and my heart melts.
Did he just call my grandpa his? He is so stinking cute.
"Why?" My voice is low, anticipating his answer.
"Because you are there. You are my home, Lyra Winters." Cyrus stops and stares at me, his eyes shining and clear.
My face softens just as I feel butterflies in my stomach. I avoid his gaze and continue walking, making him move along. "You sound like a good digger."
He laughs out loud. "Oh! I am. I have a rich girlfriend, so I better take advantage of it."
I try to hide my smile but fail. He brings my hand up to his lips and kisses it.
