I have been trying and failing to keep a straight face all the way home. Aunt Linda, Rowan, and Maisie kept trying to get us to stay the night at Moonstone, but I refused.
I didn't want to stay there tonight. I needed my Lyra all to myself. Especially after she got so jealous of Tracy Chester eyeing me.
That's the reason for the smile not leaving my face. I keep replaying the memory of her agreeing to date me, and then I put my hands around her so possessively.
All I wanted was to grab her and kiss her for the entire world to see. But I held back because I knew she wouldn't have liked it. She hates PDAs.
"What are you smiling about?" Lyra walks out of the bathroom in my t-shirt and jumps on the bed.
The bed bounces with the weight, and I prop my head on my hand, looking at her. She has changed and washed off her makeup. Her hair is still intact, though; she doesn't wash her hair at night.
