"No offense, Sienna, but it is kind of stupid what you did. I mean, don't you love yourself?" Maisie asks in disbelief.
Sienna only smiles. "I do love myself, but I love him too. And honestly, I felt like I couldn't breathe without him around, and whenever I saw his face, I felt alive. And I kept chasing that feeling until I finally got it, when he marked me."
"Did it hurt when you marked each other?" Maisie leans closer to Sienna, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"It did sting a bit at first when he marked me, but the moment his scent filled me, I felt at peace. I didn't even remember the pain." Sienna shrugs, the smile never leaving her face when she is talking about her mate.
"Do you not feel the sense of doom when you think about the mate bond?" I can't help the question leaving me, and Sienna tilts her head in my direction, leaning forward, Maisie sitting between us.
